PIG-SIG IVand PiggingSystems

The PIG-SIG® IV Scraper Passage Indicator notifies the operator that a pig has passed a designated location. It sur-passes all previous models due to its simplicity and modular concept. This field-rugged and reliable indicator is available in four configurations:

visual flag indicator, manual reset visual rotary cap, manual reset electrical signal, automatic reset combination electrical signal, automatic reset and visual flag, manual reset

As the pioneering leader in pigging technology and number onesupplier of pigs, TDW designs, engineers, and fabricates completepigging systems. They consist of launchers, receivers, closures, handling equipment, skids, PIG-SIG pig passage indicators, spherelaunch pins, valves, and piping. Standard or custom-designed systems can be provided.

Launchers and Receivers are designed to insert and remove pigs in an operating pipeline. Launchers and receivers are fabri-cated slightly larger than the pipeline and are installed adjacent to the pipeline, connected through valving systems. They areequipped with: PIG-SIG pig passage indicators to identify when the pig has left or entered the trap; a bypass or kick-out valve that controls pipeline flow through the trap; vent and drain outlets; and a closure door for pig insertion and removal.

Launchers and receivers can be a simple piping arrangement, or complex enough to include automatic valving features, timedreleases of pigs or spheres, and/or handling of multiple pig sizes.

TDW Closures offer outstanding design features. A large, cross-sectional diameter O-ring located on the periphery of the closure hub provides positive sealing as well as protection fromdamage by tools, pigs, or debris. Every TDW closure is equippedwith a pressure-warning lock to indicate internal pressure beforethe door is opened.

The threaded closure, sizes 4" through 14" (100-350 mm), threads to a hub that is welded to the end of the trap. Handles are installed to make closure turning easy. A hinge arm, connecting the door with the hub, is standard on 10" through 14" (250-350mm) threaded closures to facilitate handling.

TDW provides clamp-ring, quick-opening closures in sizes 4"through 60" (100-1500 mm). This closure employs a hinged door, which is secured to the hub with clamp rings.

3TDW Pipeline Surveys

®

TDW Pipeline Surveys offers a complete line of on-stream, in-line, inspection services. Included are pre-inspection cleaning, geometry surveys, and bend radius measurement surveys.

The TDW mechanical KALIPER ® Surveyor was originallydeveloped in 1970 and has proven to be a very reliable inspectiontool with more than 150,000 miles (240,000 km) of pipelineinspections.

Operators of transmission pipelines need internal pipelineinspection tools that will report the magnitude and location ofreductions that result from dents, buckles, out-of-roundness,gouges and flat spots.

In on-stream pipelines and new construction, operators need this information faster than mechanical surveys can provide. The Electronic KALIPER® Surveyor, developed by T.D. Williamson, Inc., in 1985, can provide these results on siteat run completion.

Our exclusive software programs and operating procedures arethe key to an internal inspection instrument that can: distinguishbetween bends and pipe reduction; distinguish between sharpreductions and out-of-roundness; locate and evaluate known orsuspected damage; and provide on-site analysis for rapid faultlocations. The Electronic KALIPER Surveyor offers the best inproven successful internal pipeline geometry measurement.

A survey using the RMT™ Surveyor (Radius MeasurementTool) takes the guesswork out of pipeline bend measurement. Results categorize pipeline bends, specifying bend radius andangle. The RMT is designed to accurately define them as well, without interpretation or costly calibration digs.

The RMT Surveyor is durable, microprocessor controlled, hassolid-state memory, will traverse all 1-1/2D bends, and provides"on-the-spot" preliminary data analysis.
