2001 - Principal Investigator of the local unit of the International Interuniversity Cooperation research

group “La Robotica come strumento educativo” (“Robotics as Educational tool”).

2004 – Coordinator of the Research Project of National Interest (PRIN) on "Mathematical Modelling of

natural and artificial behavior", which had the aim of unifying interdisciplinary competences and defining methods and instruments for the understanding of intelligent behavior in biological and artificial domains.

2006 – Coordinator of the project of International Cooperation with Canada “Music and Sound by

Chaos” (MASC), in collaboration with MacGill University of Montreal.

Professor Bilotta was among the proponents of the project “Materia”, National Operative Programme (PON), Axis 1, financed with more than 15.000.000 euros by the Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR). The project aims at the creation of a service center, at an international level, for the study of materials for advanced technologies in an integrated system. This will combine the basis research of Universities with the construction of demonstrator prototypes, validating the application potentialities individuated through an in-depth study on specific application properties.

Currently, Professor Bilotta is participating in the project coordinating a 3rd level Laboratory.
