Dear Parents and Caregivers.
Welcome to our new
pupils……
Josiah Croft, Lachlan Ale,
Sam Togiatama, Fale Leuila,
Te Taahu Norman, Parneet
Kaur, Blessing Auvaa,
Lovejot Virdi.
I am writing this last newsletter
for term two listing the latest
information as well some
Health and Safety changes.
School Driveway and pupil
safety. New changes have
been established for the school
driveway.
8.00am to 9.00am: No parent
or visitors access into the
school driveway.
2.50pm to 3.30pm: No vehicle
access into or out of the
school.
New signage will be displayed
at the front entrance
of the school
reminding you all of
these changes.
Controlling car access in our
driveway and the safe
movement of pupils into and
out of our school is our priority!
School Learning
Conferences. Just a reminder
about our upcoming ‘Learning
Conferences’ this week on
Wednesday 6th and
Thursday 7th July. Any
questions regarding
these conferences
please feel free to
contact your child’s
teacher or the
school office.
Reminder that school
finishes for all pupils at
1.05pm on both days.
Your child’s mid year report
was sent home last Friday,
please look out for it in your
child’s bag. These reports are
a Ministry of Education
requirement as we must report
on your child’s progress as
against the National
Standards. Please bring this
report with you and your child
when you are attending your
child’s learning conference this
week.
Winter school uniform. Our
uniform policy states that
black or red skivvies can be
worn under the school polo
shirt and polar fleece.
Woollen hats and other jackets
can be worn to and from
school but not at school
please. Please ensure all
uniform items are named as it
is impossible to find your son
or daughters misplaced
uniform if it is unnamed.

As our major school fundraiser this year, we are holding a math-a-thon. We ask that for the
remainder of Term 2 you support your child to collect sponsors and learn their basic facts.
Your child’s teacher has selected a basic facts sheet appropriate for their current learning. We
ask that students collect sponsorship from family members, friends and other “well known”
adults, you help us ensure that all pupils are safe and discourage them from getting
sponsorship from “unknown” people away from their home or close neighborhood.
This is how it all works:
Wednesday 6th
July (last week of term) - all sponsor sheets (completed or not) must be
returned to school. All pupils will have these stamped and checked off against class
lists. Please do not send money till after testing.
Wednesday 27th
July (week 1 of Term 3) - your child will be tested.
Friday 29th
July - your child will bring home their marked test attached to their sponsor
sheet ready for them to start collecting money from the family and friends who have
sponsored them as soon as possible.
All sponsor sheets must be accounted for and signed off by the classroom teacher.
If you do not want your child collecting sponsors, the sponsor sheet must still be signed by a
parent / caregiver and returned to the classroom teacher as soon as possible. Pupils not given
permission by parents to collect sponsors will still be expected to complete the basic facts test
at
Learning Conferences
Online Booking
The dates are set for Wednesday 6th July and Thursday 7th July.
PLEASE NOTE: School will close at 1.05pm ON BOTH DAYS.
Meetings to begin at 1.45pm.
It is time again for you to meet with your child and their teacher to discuss their learning at
our second ‘Learning Conference’ for 2016.
The purpose of these meetings is for your child to share their learning journey with their parents, family
and whanau. You will receive a written report prior to the Learning Conference which will give you an
indication of your child’s progress against the National Standards and provides the basis for the
discussion. Please bring your child and this report to the Learning Conference.
Please login at your earliest convenience to book a time or if required, visit the school office.
