La rutina de los Simpson Teacher Notes Objective : I can understand the main idea and some details involving daily routines when I read, especially with the use of visuals. Preparation : Split students into 3 or 4 teams of 8 (extra students can partner with another) Print 3 or 4 sets (depending on how many teams of 8 you have) of pages 3 – 4 and cut apart Activity : Rearrange the room so that each team of 8 is sitting or standing together. Within each team of 8, give each student a game card. Once all cards are handed out, each person will have one card and each team will have a complete set of cards. The team members will then read their card silently for understanding. Then the teams will SILENTLY race to arrange themselves into the correct order. The teacher should be up actively monitoring the accuracy of the teams’ attempts. It would be best to have an agreed upon signal for when a team thinks that they are all done/correct. For example, everyone on the team must raise their hand, sit on the floor, touch their nose, etc. If the team is incorrect, the teacher should alert them with some kind of pre-determined signal (such as “Lo siento…” or a thumbs down.) Then the teams should try to fix it so that they are in the correct order. Whichever team is in the correct order first, wins! Note: The order of the cards on the following pages is correct, so don’t hand them out in this order! Also, page 2 is the entire comic put together, in case you’d like to see that.

La rutina de los Simpson

Teacher Notes

Objective: I can understand the main idea and some details involving daily routines when I read, especially with the use

of visuals.

Preparation:

Split students into 3 or 4 teams of 8 (extra students can partner with another) Print 3 or 4 sets (depending on how many teams of 8 you have) of pages 3 – 4 and cut apart

Activity:

Rearrange the room so that each team of 8 is sitting or standing together. Within each team of 8, give each student a game card. Once all cards are handed out, each person will have one

card and each team will have a complete set of cards. The team members will then read their card silently for understanding. Then the teams will SILENTLY race to arrange themselves into the correct order. The teacher should be up

actively monitoring the accuracy of the teams’ attempts. It would be best to have an agreed upon signal for when a team thinks that they are all done/correct. For

example, everyone on the team must raise their hand, sit on the floor, touch their nose, etc. If the team is incorrect, the teacher should alert them with some kind of pre-determined signal (such as “Lo

siento…” or a thumbs down.) Then the teams should try to fix it so that they are in the correct order. Whichever team is in the correct order first, wins! Note: The order of the cards on the following pages is correct, so don’t hand them out in this order! Also, page

2 is the entire comic put together, in case you’d like to see that.
