THINGS TO NOTE ...

Upcoming ACSI Speech Contests…

Our Elementary Contest is scheduled for Friday, March 15 at Christian Hills School in Orland Hills, IL.

(located at 9001 West 159th St., about an hour and a half east of Princeton on I-80). Coaching sessions

with Mrs. Kiser will begin soon!

The Jr. High Speech Contest will be held on Friday, April 12 at Rock County Christian School in Beloit, WI

(located at 916 Bushnell St.).

CONGRATULATIONS!

Timothy Batchelor, Claire Grey, William Marshall and Leah Wilson ALL earned the highest rating possible - one (I) - on their solos at contest this weekend!

To my mysterious gift givers:

Thank you for the thoughtful card and beautiful piano purse! What

a sweet surprise!

--- Mrs. Marshall

From Mr. Odell’s desk: (God’s Word given to teachers each week and we want to share with you, also!)

Psalm 16:1-11

1 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. 2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart

from you.” 3 As for the saints in the land, they are excellent ones, in whom is all my delight. 4 The sorrows

of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take

their names on my lips. 5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. 6 The lines have fallen

for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. 7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in

the night also my heart instructs me. 8 I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand,

I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwell secure.

10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let you holy one see corruption. 11 You make known to me

the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at you right hand are pleasures forevermore.

As we approach the end of the school year I take great confidence in the fact that the ministry here at PCA is

not mine, neither is it yours. This great opportunity we are given each day rests completely in the hands of

our Sovereign Lord. Anything that is accomplished, which is of heavenly consequence, is because of God’s

gracious work in (sometimes in spite of) and through us.

Interestingly David begins this wonderful Psalm with a prayer begging for God’s protection. However it is not

without responsibility on our part, for the next phrase is, “for in you I have put my trust.” As we truly trust

God we will see the Glory of God, not our own inventions, revealed. I pray we will grasp the urgency of the

“day” and seize every opportunity to proclaim God’s saving grace.

We truly do not rest in our own confidence as Paul says in Phil. 1:6; “And I am sure of this, that he who began

a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
