    INTRODUCINGPAVEGEN

  • ImagIne If your walk to work could power the lIghts durIng your walk home In the evenIng?

using the innovative pavegen system is a way that our cities can be turned into power centres. the next 2 billion people on this planet will be living in our cities and pavegen has a way of harnessing this previously untapped resource.

pavegen is a globally patented technology that offers a uniquely interactive and engaging experience for its users whilst creating clean, off grid-power.

pavegen has successfully delivered and amplified marketing campaigns in five continents, across a range of industries.

    POWER FROM YOUR FOOTSTEPS

  • WHAT DOES IT DO?KINETICpavegen is a paving tile which harvests the wasted kinetic energy from footsteps and turns it into electricity.

APPLICATIONSthe power generated can be used to run low-voltage applications such as street lighting, various advertisement displays and wayfinding lighting solutions.

FEELthe tile flexes just 5mm when stepped on and is almost imperceivable - its similar to walking on the flooring at a childrens playground.

POWER MANAGEMENTusing a specially developed power management system, it is possible to power an application with a combination of pavegen-generated and mains power.

  • 4Key Features

energy harvested from footsteps can be used to directly power off-grid applications such as lighting, wayfinding and advertisement boards.

the energy can also be stored in an external battery for powering future applications.

pavegen tiles have been designed for durability and have been tested to withstand over 10 million footsteps.

the tile can also tolerate a 5 tonne point load, making it suitable for a number of locations.

pavegen tiles can be daisy-chained together on new installations.

together they can act as one larger power generating unit and can be easily installed in large arrays. the slabs work in parallel so each unit is independent.

the top surface of the pavegen tile uses 100% recycled rubber and the base of the tile uses 80% recycled materials.

future iterations will make further use of recycled materials with recycled polymers to be used for the core body of the unit.

company names, logos, slogans or graphics can be added to the top surface of each individual pavegen tile.

a range of options are available from vinyl to rubber to suit any exterior or interior environment as cmyk graphics.

pavegen can be incorporated into existing raised flooring systems with minimal disruption and installation time.

different slab sizes are offered. square modules are suitable for raised floor installations and 2-tile modules are suitable for rental.

each slab contains a wireless system which can send live footfall data from each pavegen unit.

the system can make use of various social media, allowing for live tweeting and automatic facebook updates.

pavegen has alsodeveloped a wireless datafeedback system. this useful addition canprovide real time footfalldata through our apI.

this data can form a keycomponent for smartcities of the future and incrowd flow management.

  • 5Wireless Applications

The wireless system has dedicated software and an Application Programming Interface (API) that can be bolted onto your existing website or displayed on a screen. This allows the user to digitally engage with the installation.

    WIRELESS

Using the on-board wireless chip and software Pavegen can drive new social campaigns or integrate with existing social media activity. Previous successes have include using Pavegen to automatically tweet from events and integration with Twitter/Facebook campaign sites.

    SOCIAL MEDIA

The wireless energy feed can also be used to trigger live tweeting or to drive an interactive game. This is a perfect way to engage people with your brand and post scores and results through social media.

    LIVE ENERGY DATA

99% of power from each footstep is stored in an external battery pack. This may be used in a variety of ways such as the partial power of screens, interactive lighting or alternative applications of your choice. The other 1% of power from each footstep drives the wireless screen display, engaging people with live energy generation.

BRITISH GAS GENERATION GREEN // LONDON // 2014an energy generating dance floor comprising of 24 pavegen tiles was installed in westfield shopping centre as part of the British gas generation green campaign.the aim of the project was to engage consumers in the concept of energy generation and use.

energy generated by the tiles was used to power leds in a totem energy bar

so that the number of leds that lit up corresponded with how frequently tiles were activated. when the leds reached the top, a photo was automatically taken and the picture printed off. members of the dance group diversity danced on the dance floor.

AFL/MoMentuM // MeLbourne, AustrALiA // 2014pavegen teamed up with afl and momentum energy to increase engagement with the fans at an australian football match. fans of opposing teams stomped and jumped on our tiles in a head-to-head competition to generate the most energy.

the wireless apI collected information from each step that displayed the total energy generated, with steps per team, and the overall scores on an information board.

WESTFIELD XMAS TREE // SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA // 2013powering australias first people powered christmas tree, santas little helpers had a lot of fun dancing and jumping on pavegen tiles in westfield sydney! In the first weekend of the installation pavegens tiles received 25,000 footsteps, generating over 100,000 joules of energy!

pavegen were responsible for powering the malls christmas tree lights entirely from the shoppers footsteps.
