GrindeProblem/Solution Action Plan: Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and ways to make the gulf the way it was.Audience: Young adults and people living outside of the gulf area.Shared Value: Concern for wildlife and the closing of beaches.ProblemThe BP oil rig that exploded killed 11 workers and spewed some 170 million gallons of toxic crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.Deep in the Gulf of Mexico, invisible to the public, the work of our nation's worst oil spill has started which is smothering coral formations, infecting the food chain, layering vast areas of ocean floor with tarry deposits, and affecting life forms in ways that can only be estimatedOil spills take an enormous toll on human communities, and are grim reapers of fishes, turtles and other endangered and threatened wildlifeThe people of the Gulf Coast still live with the disaster every day.Animals are being killed and the lives of people living on the gulf is harder than ever.

ObjectiveThe main goal and objective everyone wants done, including me, is to clean up the gulf and keep it safe.One way people are trying to help is they are going to the government to push for no more companies drilling in the gulf because if there is no drilling, then this would have never happened.Now there is the topic of cleaning up the beach. The oil is washing onto the beaches, and it is very toxic to both animals and humans. Volunteers can help clean up these beaches and remove the oil.The main way this problem can be solved is through people volunteering to help clean up the beaches.Benefits CostPeople living on the coast of the gulf can be safer.Animals will have a safe place to be.Beaches will no longer be closed.No more animals dyeing in the gulf.Thing can go back to the way they were.Only the time that people put into the effort of the clean up will cost them.There will be a cost for all those people trying to pump out the oil from the water.Implementation PlanThe way that my solution can get out is to inform people on the situation.If people find out what people and animals have been going through, I think some people would want to help.As for me, I can not do much to help but they have my support.JournalAt first I did not know about the spill all that well but I found out how serious was. I didnt ever believe that the oil would ever just go away. I thought the oil would just spread throughout the ocean in different parts.My thoughts when doing this project on the spill was it was very serious. It was so serious that something needed to be done, but I had no idea on how something like this could be fixed. I had no idea how much this affected the people and animals living one the gulf.After doing all this research I found that something could be done, but only through people volunteering their time and effort. The Gulf of Mexico is progressively clearing up of all the oil but it is going to take time, but if it is going to go back t the way it was, oil companies are going to have to change their location for oil.
