Como sacerdote, cuando me acerco a alguna persona y les pido hacer algo que nunca han hecho antes, ya sea ser Lector o Acolitó, Ujier o Ministro Extraordinario de la Sagrada Comunión, muy seguido recibo la misma

respuesta, “Ay Padre, yo no estoy preparado para ser… o para hacer…, ¿Por qué no mejor busca a alguien que si lo pueda hacer?” Quizás no siempre nos sentiremos capaces de hacer algo, pero eso no significa que Dios no nos puede dar las gracias o que no nos lo ah dado ya, de manera que podamos hacer el trabajo, y hacerlo bien. Siempre hay que recordar que Dios no escogió a los preparados con muchos títulos y especialidades, sino que Él preparo a quienes escogió. ¿Qué es eso a lo cual Dios te esta llamando hacer con tu vida? ¿Cómo puedes poner a buen uso los muchos dones y talentos que Dios nos ah dado y que seguido los mantenemos escondidos y nunca los desarrollamos? Esta semana, te invito a que en oración, consideres formar parte de un ministerio distinto aquí en la Parroquia de San Felipe, ¡siempre podemos usar corazones abiertos y listos para servirle al Señor!

As a priest, when ever I approach someone and ask them to do something that they have never done before, be it to Lector or Altar Server, Usher or be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, I often receive the same response, “Oh Father, I’m not prepared to be … or to do …, why don’t you choose someone who can do it instead?” We may not always feel capable of doing something, but it doesn’t mean that God can’t give us the graces or that He hasn’t already done so, in order for us to get the job done, and do it well. We must always remember that God did not choose those who were prepared and held countless degrees and specialties, rather instead He prepared those whom He chose. What is it that God may be calling you to do in your life? How can you put into good use the many talents and treasures that God has given us and which we often keep hidden and never develop. This week, I invite you to prayerfully consider forming part of a different ministry here at St. Philip’s, we can always use open hearts willing to serve the Lord!

¿En algún momento le has pedido un Milagro a Dios en tu vida? ¿Quizás la capacidad de pasar ese examen por el cual no estudiaste, o quizás el ganarte la lotería, aun que nunca compraste un boleto? Tantas veces le pedimos a Dios que haga cosas en nuestras vidas y no

ponemos de nuestra parte. Si, es verdad que Jesús dijo, “pidan lo que quieran al Padre en mi nombre, y se los concederé,” ¿pero en verdad hacemos eso? Es decir, ¿en verdad le pedimos a Él quien es Amor, por las cosas que necesitamos, en el nombre de Él quien murió por amor a vosotros, o pedimos solamente por egoísmo y avaricia? Has pensado que quizás Dios te esta llamando a ti para ser la respuesta al pedido de alguien mas por un milagro? Puede ser tan simple como una respuesta a esa oración de “Dios, ayúdame a saber que estas conmigo, y que me Amas aun que te eh fallado tanto” y Dios te esta llamando a ti para compartir esa sonrisa o buena obra con alguien. Cada día Dios nos llama para hacer eso mismo, milagros pequeños, no por que Él nos necesita, sino por que nos ama. ¿Así que cuales milagros dejaras que Dios haga a través de ti esta semana?

In the Love of Christ Jesus,

Have you ever asked God for a Miracle in your life? Perhaps the ability to pass that test that you didn’t study for because you procrastinated, or to win the lottery even though you never purchased a ticket? So often, we ask God to do things in our lives, and yet we don’t put our part of the equation. Yes, it is true that Jesus said, “ask anything to the Father in my name, and I shall give it you,” but do we truly do that? That is to say do we truly ask He who is Love, for the things we need, in the name of He who died out of Love for us, or do we simply ask out of greed and selfishness? Did you ever stop to wonder how sometimes God may be calling you to respond to someone else’s petition for a miracle? It can be something as simple as a response to that prayer of “God, let me know that you are still with me, and that you Love me even though I have failed you so much” and God is calling you to share a smile with someone, or do a kind deed. Each day God calls us to be and do just that, small miracles, not because He needs us, but because He loves us. So what Small Miracles will you let God to do in and through you throughout this next week?
