This partnership seeks to work with students and families to provide information about postsecondary academic programs for students who are deaf and hard of hearing and those with other types of disabilities. This partnership often results in increasing the numbers of students with disabilities who choose to attend CPCC.

The purpose of this partnership is to provide postsecondary resources, technical assistance, training, quality programs, and services through innovative practices and outreach to persons who are deaf and hard of hearing. CPCC will receive annual funding to serve as a member of the regional office for cooridnation and outreach in the State of NC.

This partnership involves a group of four regional centers for colleges and universities who are working together to improve educational access and enhance postsecondary education opportunities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This partnership is the primary funding source for the College's Services for Disability Services Office, which provides accommodations to CPCC students at all campus locations. Room In The Inn is local program that provides temporary shelter to Charlotte's homeless neighbors. Student Life coordinates CPCC students and staff to provide weekly support to the program by assisting in the check-in and departure process.

The Lions Club Vision Van provides free eye-screeing to check for vision problems and eye disease. Student Life partners with the Lions Club by coordinating visits of the Vision Van to our campuses. In two years (3 campus visits each year), we have screened nearly 600 students, staff, and people from the community.
