19+ Loansnow availableIf you’re 19 or over and planning to study at Level 3 to 6 you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. These loans help you to pay the fees charged by approved colleges and training organisations in England. The loan provides you with access to a range of courses you can use to developyour skills and enhance your career.

Benefits include:

• It’s easy to apply.

• Your household income isn’t taken into account and there are no credit checks.

• You won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000.

• If you study an Access to Higher Education qualification and go on to successfully complete a Higher Education qualification, the outstanding balance will be written off.

Courses are available to all applicants. For learners that were aged 16-18 on 31 August 2017 enrolling on a study programme the tuition fee is paid bythe Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) on behalf of the learner. The exam fee for the first sitting of each exam is free.

For adult learners who are 19 years of age or older as at 31 August 2017, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) may pay all or some of the tuition fee on your behalf. Although courses are open to applications from all learners, this funding will only be provided by the ESFA in relation to the level of course, age, previous achievement and economic circumstances. The funding eligibility is not determined by Bury College. If a learner is not eligible for full funding, a fee will apply. This is an inclusive fee which includes tuition, examination,and registration fees for one year. On

a small number of courses, there may be additional costs for residentials, materials or individual registration to the awarding body. Fees are payable upon enrolment by cash, cheque, debit or credit card. If your employer is paying your tuition fees we will accept a letter confirming this. Payment by instalments is available by setting up an online recurring card payment plan. If you are studying at Level 3 or above you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan. • Learners studying courses in English and Maths up to Level 2 (including GCSE English and Maths) where the learner has not already achieved a grade C or above in English and/or Maths. • Learners on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Employment and Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group (ESA WRAG), or Universal Credit (earnings criteria also apply) in one of the Work Groups as determined by Job Centre Plus.

• Unemployed learners on specific state income related benefits (other than JSA or ESA), who need skills to gain employment or progress (earnings criteria also apply).
