Parkglen Parking Issues
Parkglen was introduced to Houston as a new neighborhood in
the early 1970’s. During this �me and for many years prior, the
majority of American families had only one vehicle. I suspect
that the neighborhood was originally designed to accommodate
that trend. Today, most families have at LEAST two vehicles
and some�mes more. If there are teenage children or other
adult family members that are residing in the same residence, it
is not uncommon to have one household with 4 or more vehi-
cles. While this certainly creates parking issues it is NOT a viola-
�on of the Parkglen deed restric�ons.
Ar�cle VII, Sec�on 16 addresses vehicles in Parkglen. It reads in
part as follows: No truck, tractor, trailer, automobile, boat, mo-
tor home or other vehicle shall be stored, parked or kept on any
driveway of any Lot or street within Parkglen unless such vehi-
cle is in day-to-day use off the premises or used for day-to- day
travel; and if such vehicle is not in day-to-day use, such parking
shall be allowed for a temporary �me only. No vehicle shall be
parked or stored on any Lot's lawn area visible from any street
except pedal-powered vehicles. No boat trailers, boats, travel
trailers, inopera�ve automobiles or campers of any kind are to
be semi-permanently parked or stored in the public street right-
of-way. Permanent or semi-permanent storage of such vehicles
or items must be screened from public view, either within the
garage or behind the residence within the fence which enclosed
the rear of the Lot. Semi-permanent as used herein is defined as
any �me exceeding a twelve (12) hour period of �me.
The Associa�on has received calls/emails from concerned resi-
dents about parking issues on their streets. While there is noth-
ing the Associa�on can do in regards to vehicles that are legally
parked on the street, if there is an issue we recommend that
the affected neighbors COMMUNICATE with one another to
reach a mutual resolu�on of the problem. If cars are preven�ng
mail delivery or trash pick-up, this IS a City of Houston viola�on
and should be reported to 3-1-1.
A sugges�on was made that Parkglen apply for the City of Hou-
ston residen�al parking program which would require permits
to park on the street. In order for an area to be considered for
the residen�al parking program, there must be an issue with
COMMUTER PARKING – which we do NOT have. Therefore our
neighborhood would NOT be eligible for this program. The sim-
ple solu�on is to TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS – POLITELY AND
KINDLY – and reach a mutually agreeable resolu�on to the

ción de las restricciones de escritura de Parkglen.Ar?culo VII, Sección
16 aborda vehículos en Parkglen. Se lee en parte de la siguiente
manera: Ningún camión, tractor, remolque, automóvil, embarcación,
autocaravana u otro vehículo se debe almacenar, estacionar o manten-
er en cualquier entrada de cualquier Lote o calle dentro de Parkglen a
menos que dicho vehículo esté en el día a día usar fuera de las instala-
ciones o u�lizarlos para el viaje diario; y si dicho vehículo no está en
uso diario, dicho estacionamiento se permi�rá solo por un �empo tem-
poral. Ningún vehículo será aparcado o almacenado en el área de
césped de cualquier lote visible desde ninguna calle, excepto vehículos
impulsados por pedal. Ningún remolque para embarcaciones, barcos,
remolques de viaje, automóviles inopera�vos o campistas de ningún
�po se estacionarán de forma semipermanente o se almacenarán en el
derecho de vía público de la calle. El almacenamiento permanente o
semipermanente de tales vehículos o ar?culos debe proyectarse desde
la vista del público, ya sea dentro del garaje o detrás de la residencia
dentro de la cerca que encierra la parte trasera del Lote. Semiperma-
nente, tal como se usa en este documento, se define como cualquier
�empo que excede un período de doce (12) horas.La Asociación ha
recibido llamadas / correos electrónicos de residentes preocupados
sobre problemas de estacionamiento en sus calles. Si bien no hay nada
que la Asociación pueda hacer con respecto a los vehículos legalmente
estacionados en la calle, si hay un problema, recomendamos que los
vecinos afectados COMUNICEN entre sí para llegar a una solución mu-
tua del problema. Si los automóviles impiden la entrega por correo o la
recolección de basura, esta es una violación de la Ciudad de Houston y
debe comunicarse al 3-1-1.Se hizo una sugerencia de que Parkglen
solicite el programa de estacionamiento residencial de la Ciudad de
Houston, que requeriría permisos para aparcar en la calle. Para que un
área sea considerada para el programa de estacionamiento residencial,
debe haber un problema con el ESTACIONAMIENTO DE
COMÚN, que NO tenemos. Por lo tanto, nuestro vecindario NO
sería elegible para este programa.
La solución simple es HABLAR CON SUS VECINOS, DE FORMA
POLITICO Y AMABLE, y alcanzar una solución mutuamente
aceptable para el problema.

Recycle Reciclaje The City of Houston has temporarily suspended curbside recycle as those crews are busy with Harvey debris removal.
Please remove your green cans from the curb. The City plans to be recycling again sometime later this year.
There are still residents who get mixed up as to which Mondays are recycle days. Below is a calendar for the re-
mainder of the year. Note that the Parkglen recycle Mondays are the white or light shaded weeks.

Invoices for the 2018 Parkglen CIA annual dues will
be mailed out in November. The annual assessment
remains unchanged – it is s�ll $120.00 per year - as
it has been since 1969. The annual assessment is
not considered LATE un�l Feb. 1st – so you have un�l
January 31st to pay the $120.00 before the $25.00
late fee is added to your account. Residents are
welcome to split the assessment into 2 or 3 pay-
ments as long as payment IN FULL is received by
January 31, 2018. Payments are to be made to
Parkglen CIA and mailed to PO Box 2, Stafford, TX
77497-0002.
