In our reading from the Book of Sirach we read "My child, conduct your affairs with humility, and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts. Humble yourself the more, the greater you are, and you will find favor with God." What great advice if we can step outside of our own egos, just think what good we could do. When we look at our Lord Jesus Christ, we see the perfect example of humility when He took an apron tied it around His waist and washed the feet of His disciples. It is not about me, or you, but about God, and doing the work that helps to build up the kingdom of heaven here on earth.

I want to encourage you to think about becoming a

Religious Education Teacher. Our children could use your help. Please see Mr. Alfredo Flores for more information. Speaking of Religious Education, it is that time again to register for the upcoming school year. You can do so on line at olphparish.net or pick up a form in the back of church.

A big thank you to Yvonne Postelmans and her crew; Valeri Scriff, Marlene Duckett, Sue Vicari, David Skaritka and Eduardo Cervantes for all the hard work they did on the “Canvas Painting” school roof fund raiser. It went so well that those who attended unanimously

want another one!

To-

Stewardship Thought

"As He passed by, He saw Levi, son of Aphaeus, sitting at the customs post. He said to him, "Follow Me."

This was the Lord Jesus calling the Apostle Matthew. He called him from who he was. The Lord is calling you as well He is saying come as you are. Come share your gifts, your talents, and your treasure. Come and be a steward for the kingdom of God. ...Be a good steward!!!

I am your humble servant, Fr. Charles A. Mosley

... Sé un buen mayordomo!!!

Su humilde servidor, P. Charles A. Mosley

PRAY FOR PEACE: Two mass shootings in less than twenty four hours! The horrible violence that continues in our society reminds of why we need peace. We need the violence to come to an end. I invite you to join me every Friday to take some time and pray for peace. It does not have to be long, whatever time you may have, let us spend it in prayer for peace. You do not have to be in church, alt-hough the church is always available to you, prayer can happen anywhere you are. Let us just do this and use this great tool that the Lord has given us and make our world a place of love and peace.

ADORATION ES ESENCIALMENTE UN ABRAZO CON JESUS EN EL QUE LE DICES: "yo soy tuyo, y te pido por favor quedate conmigo siempre." Pope Benedicto XVI

WHAT ARE THEY ASKING

ABOUT THE CHURCH TODAY In this Column I will answer questions about the Church or the parish; so whatever you want to know about the Church or the parish, please just ask. In addition, we will sometimes look at Issues that affect our church or our members. I often get questions on what is Eucharistic Adoration. This week will start a series on Eucharistic Adoration. Hopefully it will answer your questions.

“ADORATION IS ESSENTIALLY AN EMBRACE WITH JESUS IN WHICH I SAY TO HIM: "I AM

YOURS, AND I ASK YOU, PLEASE STAY WITH ME ALWAYS." Pope Benedict XVI

What Is Eucharistic Adoration?

Eucharistic adoration is the act of worshiping God as He is present in the consecrated Eucharist. Since the Last Supper, when Jesus broke the bread and distributed the wine, saying, "This is My Body" and "This is My Blood," Catholics have believed that the bread and wine are no longer merely baked wheat and fermented grape juice, but the actual living pres-ence of the Second Person of the Trinity. Spending time be-fore the Blessed Sacrament, in prayer and devotion, is exact-ly, the same as spending time before the living God. Adora-tion occurs whenever, someone kneels in front of a tabernac-le that contains the Blessed Sacrament, genuflects toward a tabernacle, bows before receiving the Blessed Sacrament at Mass, or, in a more focused way, when the Blessed Sacrament is expose for adoration.
