Preparing for Next Sunday Fourth Sunday of Lent

The first reading tells of the Israelites celebrating the Passover when they entered the Promised Land. The second reading reminds us that we are called to work to foster unity and peace in the world. In the Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the prodigal son, which reminds us that God loves us unconditionally and is ever-willing to forgive us.

Jr High Retreat All youth in 6, 7 and 8th grade are invited to participate in a retreat this SATURDAY, MARCH 5th from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The topic is "The Order of the Mass". Catholic Relief Services Collection Next Weekend

Next week, our parish will take up the Catholic Relief Services Collection. This collection helps to fund six Catholic organizations that improve the quality of life and protect human dignity. Your gift will support agricultural development to strengthen economies and create food sustainability, provide outreach services to survivors of human trafficking, and supply pastoral care and advocacy for immigrants and refugees. By helping the marginalized and impoverished, you give hope to Jesus in disguise. Please be charitable in next week’s Catholic Relief Services Collection.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School is blessed to be part of a community with a generous heart. The goal of Steps for Students was to raise awareness of the importance of a Catholic education and provide much needed resources for our Catholic Schools. This day of family fun included a 5k USA Track and Field Association sanctioned race and Post Race Party. With 61 schools, serving over 18,000 students, the network of Catholic Schools is the largest private school system in the state of Texas. Every contribution, whatever its size, played an important role in keeping Our Lady of Mt. C a r m e l a t h r i v i n g community. Thank you for all the support! El objetivo inicial de Pasos para los Estudian-tes fue crear conciencia de la importancia de una educación católica y proveer los recursos tan necesarios en nuestras escuelas católicas. Este día de diversión familiar incluyó una carrera de 5kilómetros así como la fiesta al terminar la carre-ra. Con 61 escuelas, que atiende a más de 18.000 estudian-tes, la red de Escuelas Católicas es el mayor sistema de es-cuelas privadas en el estado de Texas. Cada contribución, sea cual sea su tamaño, jugó un papel importante en el soste-nimiento de la escuela Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo como una comunidad próspera. Gracias por todo su apoyo!
