Stations of the Cross practices have begun! Please join us as we prepare to recreate Jesus’ last steps on Good Friday, March 30. Rehearsals begin at 7:00 PM and end at 9:15 PM on the following Sundays: March 11, & 18. Our final dress rehearsal will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 6:30 PM.

All Youth Group members are asked to make dona-tions of Two dozen Easter Eggs and candy (individually wrapped) or fillers for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the children of our church community. Please turn in all donations by March 14. Thank you for your generosity.

Volunteer opportunity- Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Sunday, March 18, at 3:00 PM. Please arrive to help set up by 1:30. You will be assisting children in crafts, games, and face painting. Always a fun day! Our Stations of the Cross Lock-In will be held on Fri-day, March 23. Please arrive NO EARLIER than 8:00 PM. We looked over the parish mission statement and want to make it shorter and more encompassing of our parish, so we will continue to work on that in the next few months. We also reviewed the book “The Disciple as Steward” to give us some vision of where we need to go as a parish. We do keep very busy trying to promote all aspects of stewardship from our spiritual aspect, to sharing our gifts, to asking for tithing. If you have any ideas you would like to see be a part of this parish please share them with any committee member. We are here to serve you.

COMMUNAL RESPONSIBILITY The people of God forgot the covenant and flouted God’s laws. They did not listen to the prophets among them, who spoke for God in warning them. Prophets are sent from God to remind us why we are here, but they are often, even in our own time, mocked, disregarded, and mistreated rather than thanked and listened to. The book of Chronicles tells the results of these sins: the destruction of the temple and all of Jerusalem, murder, mayhem, and finally exile to a foreign land. Why are these stories in the Bible? Just to inform us of what hap-pened to our ancient forebears? What good would that be unless there were a message and a warning for us as well? Are we people who follow the teachings of God, who obey the words of Christ in the second covenant in his blood? Or do we continue to wreak works of darkness and violence? RESPONSABILIDAD COMUNAL El pueblo de Dios olvidó la alianza y se burló de las leyes de Dios. No escucharon a los profetas que había en-tre ellos, los cuales les advertían en nombre de Dios. Los profetas son enviados por Dios para recordarnos por qué estamos aquí, pero muchas veces, incluso en nuestra épo-ca, nos burlamos de ellos, los despreciamos y los maltra-tamos, en vez de escucharlos y agradecerles. El libro de las Crónicas nos cuenta los resultados de estos pecados: la destrucción del Templo y de toda Jeru-salén, asesinatos, caos y por último el exilio a una tierra desconocida. ¿Por qué hallamos estos relatos en la Bi-blia? ¿Están ahí sólo para informarnos lo que les sucedió a nuestros antepasados? ¿Qué bien nos puede traer eso a menos que también haya un mensaje y una advertencia para nosotros? ¿Somos personas que respetan las ense-ñanzas de Dios, que obedecen las palabras de Cristo en la segunda alianza en su sangre? ¿O continuamos sembran-do obras de maldad y violencia?
