IMPORTANT Hospital Information: If you are going to the hospital, please speak to the receptionist at the church and let them know when you will be admitted and what hospital you are going to. It would also be very helpful if we knew your room number. Federal Privacy Regulation – HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), prohibits all hospitals from informing churches of a patient’s presence unless the patient gives permission for the hospital to do so.

Our parish is participating in Living the Eucharist. This Lenten spiritual renewal program provides us with opportunities to grow in our faith through

learning more about the Eucharist, participating more actively in Sunday Mass, and Living the Eucharist each day as disciples of Jesus. Two Sign-Up Sundays will take place January 6 and 7, and January 13 and 14, 2018. Please consider joining a small group, a teen group, or participating with your family. Try using the Lenten devotional book, From Exodus to Easter: My Daily Journey Through Lent. Trate de usar el libro devocional de Cuaresma, “From Exodus to Easter: My Daily Journey Through Lent”.

Year of the Eucharist As we begin the Year of the Eucharist may we reflect on these words from our bishop Most Reverend John Noonan. June 2018 marks the 50th year since Pope Paul VI established the Diocese of Orlando. Never more than at this time do we find our urgent prayer, Stay with us, Lord (Luke 24:29), burning in our hearts as it did with those disciples on the road to Emmaus. The Lord has been faithful to our local diocese over these 50 years as today we comprise nine counties. During this coming year we recommit ourselves to the Eucharist as the source and summit of our Christian life. It is not the Eucharistic food that is changed into us, but rather we who are mysteriously transformed by it. Christ nourishes us by uniting us to His Body; “He draws us into the life of the Trinity in giving us His Body as our Bread of Life.”

REJOICE Isaiah proclaims truly good news to us! God’s com-ing brings not sadness, guilt, fear, wrath, or condemna-tion. No, God’s coming is a source of comfort and joy. Saying it once is not enough, for today’s readings are full of joy. Mary’s Magnificat substitutes for our psalm to-day, and our second reading encourages us to rejoice, to give thanks and praise. This is the root meaning of the Greek word for Eucharist. We are urged to rejoice and give thanks, because the coming of the Lord brings joy, healing, liberty, release, vindication. It makes the very earth spring up with new life! Good tidings! Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

¡Buenas noticias!
