Easter:

You’ll need, straws, Easter eggs & a box! How many can you stack up without them falling over???

Sensory:

Sensory: Rice, or even pop corn kernels, an empty egg carton, plastic eggs. You could also add in magnet or foam letters or numbers if you have any! – Can you find the A? Can you find the letters in you name? Etc.

Have your child go around the house and find different objects/shapes/letters/numbers etc. Sing this song, and see if they can put what you are describing in the basket!

Song: “A tisket a tasket, put a ________ in the basket” (ex: put a blue square in the basket!)

Pattern Activity: Create a pattern with Easter eggs, and see if your child can mimic your pattern, or create one on their own! – Draw a picture of the pattern. (Give them a paper with circles you can draw to represent the eggs, they can color in the pattern on the paper to match the one they made with the eggs on the table!)

Recycling & Earth Day

This week is all about our home, planet Earth! Here are some fun activities and ideas to get us thinking about our planet and how we can help to take care of it.

All of our preschool friends LOVE to play in the water, it is super easy to set up and clean up! Add some water, maybe some food coloring to change the color, and as you can see

below this is just water, some trash and fish! Add a spoon and cup and maybe some straws!

Coffee filter earth This is a simple, quiet project and one of my favorites! What you need:-coffee filter-blue and green markers-spray bottle (if you have a smaller one it’s easier for little hands)Color the coffee filter with the blue and green markers. I like to talk about how the world is mostly water but of course the can color however they want. After the filter is completely covered use the spray bottle to make a tie-dye like earthIf your house is anything like mine, you may have some markers that just don’t color like the used to. Here is a great way to recycle them into something that can be used to create a masterpiece. Earth day is Wednesday, April 22nd. Ill be taking my kids on a walk down our street to pick up trash. We do this every year with the girl scouts and, believe it or not, it’s one of their favorite activities. We talk about how much trash we find, and it really gets them talking about what they can do to help. Everyone brings some sort of bag to put trash in and we all WEAR GLOVES. We use gardening gloves but whatever you have will work.
