Qualification Description: This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due
to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.
Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.

Course Delivery: This course is delivered in a supportive class and work environment. It is a combination of classroom, work from home tasks with tutorial days, and work placement. Work placement is provided and AMC Training will
support the student with orientation and will undertake all student workplace assessments. If you have undertaken formal studies or have achieved competence through workplace or other train-ing, you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) via the enrolment form (fees apply). Students must investigate any Centrelink funding possibilities themselves.
Student Support: All students are supported according to their individual needs and there will be no discrimination against students on any grounds. We ask you
to raise any concerns with us. AMC Training Comments and Complaints process will be followed.
Work Placement: Students not currently employed with the aged or community care industry will be required to complete at least 120 hours of work. If sup-ported through Centrelink the minimum will be 1 class day and 2 practical days per week. Sufficient time is needed to develop the skills and assess the competence of the student in all required units of study. Work placements are sourced for all student in their local Aged Care facilities if possible. If completing Disability Specialisation or Home and
Community Specialisation approximately 50% of work placement will occur in Aged Care and the remaining 50% in a Disability or Home and Community facility. An orientation to your work placement will occur in the third or fourth week of the course.
Course Breakdown: There are 13 units in the Certificate III in Individual Support consisting of 7 core and 6 elective units. Spe-
cialisation: All Group A electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).
All Group B electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). At least four units from Group C electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and
Community). Where two specialisations are completed award of the qualification would read Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing,
Home and Community)

In a lump sum on the first day of class; or Paid off in weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments via direct debit
commencing on the first day of class and running for a period of three months (or less). This method attracts an extra one-time
fee of $20. Your Certificate III will only be issued once your account has
been Paid in Full. Withdrawal:
prior to course will forfeit: $250 if a full-fee paying student; or
Your deposit if a Certificate 3 Guarantee student. after commence-ment:
Total course fees are forfeited.
Influenza Vaccination: It will soon be a requirement of for students to be vaccinated against In-fluenza prior to commencing placement. Please be advised that your vo-

What is the Certificate 3 Guarantee?
The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III qualification and increase their skills to move into employment, re-enter the workforce or advance their career.
It also supports school students to access training and Queensland's Year 12 graduates to transition to employ-ment by providing free training in high priority qualifications.

To support Year 12 graduates into work, the Queensland Government offers
free tafe in high priority areas.
If you graduated Year 12 in 2018, you can kick-start your career by ge9ng
the skills employers want without the fees.
Eligible Year 12 graduates must enrol and start training in a high priority
qualifica�on within the calendar year a:er leaving school to take advantage
of this great opportunity.
To be eligible for free tafe, you must:
• have completed Year 12 in Queensland and hold a Senior Statement is-
sued by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority or equiv-
alent cer�fica�on
• enrol and start an appren�ceship, traineeship or training with an ap-
proved training provider in a high priority qualifica�on by 31 December
the year a:er gradua�ng (e.g. 2018 graduates have to start by 31 De-
