Introductiony A management information system (MIS) is a subset of the overall internal

control of a business covering the application of people, documents,technologies, and procedures by management accountants to solvebusiness problems such as costing a product, service or a business-widestrategy.

y Management information system is the combination of human and computer based resources that result in the collection , storage, retrieval ,communication, and use of data for the purpose of efficient management of operation and for business planning and also for best patient care.

OPD REGISTRATIONy OPD is that part of the hospital with allotted physical

facilities and medical and other staff in sufficient number.y It has regulatory scheduled hours to provide care for

patients who are not registered as inpatients.y 1st point of contact with the hospital.y It provides access to all patient registration-normal,

revisits, emergency.y It provides a unique UHID number to the patient.y It assigns physician to patient.y Schedules OPD visits.
