OPC PROCEDURE DOCUMENT

1) Holding job/application in OPC: è OPC main menu go to option 5.3è Specify the job name/application name press enter

è Type MH in row command in front of the said job/application.

è For application it will list of all jobs it’s having. Holding first job will hold whole application.

2) Releasing held job/application: 2.1)è OPC main menu go to option 5.3 è Specify the job name/application name press enter

è Type MR in row command in front of the said job/application.

3) Restarting failed Application: è Go to option 5.2 Specify application name.

è In row command type R –(Rerun)

è It will list of all jobs it’s having. Type S in row command of first job as start point.

4) Restarting Failed job:

4.1)è Go to OPC error list option 5.4 è Type SJR in row command of failed job to be restarted

4.2)è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name.

è In row command type M –(Modify)

è Type OPER at command line.

è Type R in second last column of failed job.Press F3 twice to come out. Occurrence will get modify.

5) Running job as a DUMMY job:

è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name.

è In row command type M –(Modify)

è Type OPER at command line.

è Change workstation type to DUMY.

(This will run the job with no JCL)

6) Restarting failed job without its dependencies / Removing dependencies: Whenever user doen’t want to trigger the dependent jobs of failed job we have to remove it’s dependencies.è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name.

è In row command type M –(Modify)

è Type S.1 at row command of failed job.

è Type D to delete all the successor’s it has.

Press F3 to come upto 5.2 option.Verify OCCURRENCE MODIFIED in right hand corner.

7) Restarting failed application without its dependencies / Removing dependencies:

Whenever user doen’t want to trigger the dependent application of failed job we have to remove it’s dependencies.

è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name.

è Type D to delete all the successor applications.

8) Releasing Special Resources of failed jobs:

Request may come to release special resource of failed job in order to trigger another job which is using the same resource.è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name..

è Type D to delete special resource.

9) Force completing failed job /Application

9.1)è Go to OPC error list option 5.4 è Type C in row command of failed job to force complete job.

9.2)è Go to option 5.2 Specify job name.

è In row command type M –(Modify)

11) Adding /Deleting dates in RUN Periods:

User provides RUN Period name and asks to add or delete the specific dates.

è Go to 1.3.2 (Database-Period-Create) It will list all the dates of that RUN cycle on which it is supposed to run

è Type M at row command of run perid name

è For adding new dates type I at row command to insert new rows. Specify the new Datesè For deleting new dates type D at row command to delete specified dates.
