Welcome! This manual was created to help you understand the OnAir application and make the most out of your

new adventure as an airline company CEO. In subsequent chapters, you will find details and instructions

describing every page of the OnAir application (Windows as well as iOS and Android). Throughout this

document, you will also find useful 💡 Tips to help you navigate the OnAir World and make your

company more efficient and successful. Please also be on the lookout for ❗ Notes which contain

important information that is essential for you to know. And if you see any bold orange text, it is either

a link to another part of this document or a web url. OnAir Airline Manager is updated often with new

features and gameplay balances so check back regularly at www.onair.company to make sure that you

have the most recent version of this manual. Let’s first get started with a quick overview!

What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s CEO, manage your own airline. Your

company could be a small local bush plane charter in the middle of Alaska, a regional airline covering a

small part of Europe or a huge international conglomerate that offers services to the whole world…or

anything else that you can think of. Your ambitions and goals are your only limitations. Here are some of

the main features of OnAir Airline Manager:

Search for regular jobs, each with an expiry date/time and late delivery penalty, which are

distributed by the Logistic Center and are available to all companies within the OnAir World.

Remember to be on the lookout for jobs that are most relevant to your company’s

infrastructure…and the most profitable.

Set up FBOs at airports in key locations and receive special Logistic Query job offers, based on

your chosen parameters (size of job, distance, direction, etc.). FBOs also allow you to:

o Purchase fuel at wholesale prices, which you can use to refuel your aircraft or make it

available to other players at a profit, if you like.

o Have aircraft tiedowns and hangars to save you on parking fees.

o Have storage hangars to save you on cargo storage fees when you need to unload and

leave cargo at the airport.

o Have workshops to service and repair your aircraft with the option to allow other

players usage of your facilities.

o Have crew rooms for your employees to use while they rest, saving your company on

hotel fees.

Take on Missions which are special jobs that never expire and are assigned to your company as

it gains levels. Missions award large amounts of XP and encourage you to visit areas that you

may not normally fly to.

Use AI pilots in your company or fly jobs yourself in your simulator (currently FSX, Prepar3D and

X-Plane 11 are supported and in the future, the new MS Flight Simulator, provided that the SDK

allows it). You can also run your company with a combination of AI pilots and simulator flights.

Accelerated time in your simulator is supported but will place you and your aircraft “in warp”

until the actual time passes when the flight should be completed (this warp delay can be

Page 6: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 5

disabled in the Global Settings if you are not playing in Survival Mode). Resume flight is also

supported in case your simulator crashes.

You can take care of other business in your company, even while you’re flying and tracking in

your simulator. Just do what you need to do; rent or buy aircraft, look for jobs, hire employees

and assign jobs for them to fly and when you’re done, resume your flight. There is no need to

pause your flight while you are doing other things in OnAir as it will correctly resume tracking at

your current location in the simulator.

Each flight that you fly yourself in your simulator will award you with an amount of XP and

eventually, your company will level up. When it does, you will gain skill points which you can use

to unlock new features and bonuses for your company in the Company Skill Tree. If you are

playing without a simulator, XP can also be gained by having your AI pilots complete Missions.

Hire employees on the Job Market to work for your company on a long-term basis or as

freelancers in the capacity of pilots, copilots, flight attendants and mechanics. Your employees’

skills can also be trained to make them more efficient at what they do.

Follow your company’s aircraft, employees, cargo and passengers in real time on a Live Map.

Set up Work Orders, which are designed to help take some of the micromanagement load out of

your busy day as an airline CEO, by allowing you to create multiple leg flight schedules for your

aircraft, which they will follow automatically on their own.

Take part in special global community events, where all players are encouraged to participate in

delivering cargo or passengers to key locations. Extra XP and credits are awarded for

participation and a nice cooperative atmosphere is created as players work together for a

common goal.

Use a free companion Mobile App (iOS and Android) to access your Company Dashboard and

the Logistic Center where you can search for and accept jobs, even when not at your home

Windows PC. More features will be added to the mobile apps in future updates.

Interact with other players by offering fuel and workshop services at your FBOs, selling and

renting out of your aircraft and by using the Outsourcing feature where you can offer your

accepted jobs (or parts thereof) to other players.

Customize many settings to suit your playstyle and make running your company as easy or

realistic as you like. There is even a Survival Mode in which any unrealistic options (like instant

pilot transport) are disabled. Survival Mode will also give you access to the upcoming leader

boards, where you can see how your company stacks up to other Survival Mode companies.

Pause your company when you need to be away from it for an extended period of time to avoid

paying loan and aircraft ownership costs and long-term hire employee salaries.

1. Setting up your Company After setting up your account, the first time you launch OnAir you will be presented with the following

page:

This is where you can enter all the initial details of your new company.

Company Name: Please choose a name that would not be offensive as it will be seen by other

players.

Airline Code: This 4-character code must be unique within the OnAir World and contain only

letters and numbers.

Pilot Pseudo: This is the name that you, the company CEO, will be known by. As with your

company name, please choose one that would not be offensive to others.

Pilot Birthday and Flight Experience: These are for your fictional CEO avatar and do not need to

represent real world values.

Initial Location: Select an airport ICAO code where you would like to begin your OnAir career.

The first Mission for your company will be generated at this airport. You can change this location

(your home base) later, if you like.

Choose an avatar: Select a portrait to represent you.

I don’t use any simulator…: Check this box if you prefer to play only by using AI pilots. This will

also allow you to use your own avatar to fly as if it was an AI pilot.

Page 8: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 7

Difficulty Level: This determines how much equity your company will start with and what your

company’s initial reputation will be, which sets the maximum loan amount that you will be able

to secure from the bank right away. In the near future, reputation will also affect the availability

of certain jobs.

Starting Equity Starting Reputation Maximum Starting Loan Amount

Easy: 470,000.00 70% 1,190,000

Classic: 170,000.00 50% 250,000

Realistic: 70,000.00 30% 60,000

Company Pay Bonus: If you would like to speed up your path to riches, this is where you can

increase the amount of credits you will receive for completing jobs. The maximum bonus is 90%.

Activate Survival Mode: Activating this will enable Survival Mode which is meant for experienced

players or anyone who would like the most realistic experience while running their company.

Playing in Survival Mode will also place your company on the upcoming leader boards, where it

will be rated against other Survival Mode companies based on its Debt Ratio and ROA value.

Both of these are described in detail in the Company Ratios section of the Finances chapter. If

you turn on Survival Mode for your company, you can turn it off at any time, but you will not be

able to turn it on again for that company. In addition, the following unrealistic options are

disabled in Survival Mode:

o Instant player and employee transport

o Lower checkride difficulty

o Lower minimum aircraft rental hours

o Instant loading of cargo and passengers

o Instant unlocking of the entire Company Skill Tree

o Disabling of employees’ need to rest

o Flying at any time/date in your sim - you can still adjust this to suit your preferred flying time by using the “Company UTC offset” in the Global Settings after you create your company

o Disabling the penalties for landing at airports outside of their normal operating hours

3.2 Simulator Connection Indicator

This indicator will change depending on whether OnAir has a connection with your simulator or not.

For FSX and Prepar3D: FSUIPC (at least the free version) is required to connect your simulator to

OnAir and can be obtained here: http://home2.btconnect.com/petedowson/

For X-Plane 11: A connector plugin is included which can be installed in the Global Settings.

3.3 Main Dashboard Area

The main area of the Dashboard page provides links to the most commonly used pages within the OnAir

application, as indicated below each button in the picture above. On the header, you can see the name

of your company, followed by its 4-character code and your company’s Pay Bonus Factor, if any.

3.4 Notifications In this area of the Dashboard, you will find a list of

notifications that inform you of important company

events. Any new events will be presented in bold text.

If relevant, a small button to the right of the event can

be used to access more details about it. In the header,

there is a small ”envelope” button which when used,

will mark all events as read. The list is limited to 25

events and older ones will be replaced, when the list

becomes too large.

Windows desktop notifications will also be displayed at the bottom right of your screen.

Page 14: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

3.5 Partners This area of the Dashboard displays any

Partnerships that you have with other OnAir

companies, if applicable, as shown in the right

half of the picture. If any of your partners are

also currently connected to the OnAir World, a

green dot will appear in front of the company

name.

From here, you can also propose new

Partnerships by using button #1 (if you don’t

have any partners yet, as shown in the left half

of the picture) or button #2, which is always

available, as shown in both halves of the

picture.

Button #3 will refresh the list.

3.6 Dashboard Footer

The Dashboard footer area contains links to any OnAir web, documentation, social and community

content.

www.onair.company 14

4. Global Settings One of the first things that you may want to do after creating your company is to visit the Global

Settings page.

On this page, you can adjust the settings that affect the OnAir application interface and those that

decide how easy or realistic your experience will be while running and managing your company.

Select your simulator: Choose between FSX/Prepar3D or X-Plane 11.

o To connect FSX or Prepar3D to OnAir, at least the free version of FSUIPC is required and

can be obtained here: http://home2.btconnect.com/petedowson/.

o To connect X-Plane 11 to OnAir, after you choose that option in the drop-down box, two

new buttons will appear (Pick Directory and Auto-install X-Plane 11 Plugin) which will

allow you to select your X-Plane 11 install directory and then install the plugin.

I don’t use any simulator...: If you don’t plan on flying yourself in a simulator and want to only

play by using AI pilots, check this box. This will also allow you to use your own avatar to fly as if

it was an AI pilot.

Synthetic Voice: Choose one of the voices that you have installed on your system which OnAir

will use to make helpful verbal announcements during some parts of your operations such as

Page 16: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 15

during checkrides or to inform you of the wind conditions during your final approach. You can

use the “Listen” button to hear what each voice sounds like.

Company UTC offset: If you play in Survival Mode, OnAir will force you to fly at the correct,

current UTC time at your location in your simulator (this can be turned off in non-survival mode;

see “Don’t Force time in sim” on the next page). The Company UTC offset can be adjusted at any

time, as long as you don’t have any active flights in your company (yourself or AI). This offset

affects the following things:

o It allows you to fly at your preferred time of day in your simulator, even in Survival

Mode. For example: Let's say that the current UTC is 14:00. You want to make a flight

that originates in New York City, which at the current UTC is at 09:00 local NYC time. If

you are ok flying from NYC at 09:00 in your simulator, leave the Company UTC offset at

0. If, however, you would prefer to fly at 03:00 in your simulator instead, set the

Company UTC offset to -6 (09:00 -6 = 03:00).

o It also affects the operating hours of airports. This is important because every landing

made at an airport outside of its operating hours will cost your company a 200cr

penalty.

o The above two points also apply to your company’s flights performed by your AI pilots.

❗ Note: The Company UTC offset has nothing to do with your actual physical location

(where you live).

Interface Sounds: Toggles the OnAir application interface sounds (when clicking buttons, etc.).

Ambiance Sounds: Toggles any additional sounds. At this time, this only affects unhappy

passenger sounds during flight if you exceed either 3G or –2G.

Use small airports: Toggles job generation for your company to/from smaller (size 0 and size 1)

airports. If you are not interested in jobs into or out of smaller airports, keep this turned off. In

addition, not all simulators that OnAir supports have every single smaller airport that is in our

database. Turning off this option will ensure that any job generated for your company will only

involve larger airports that are present in most simulators.

Announce wind in finale: Toggles OnAir’s verbal wind conditions announcement during your final

approach.

❗ Note: The following settings (in the area surrounded by a blue border in the picture above

and in the application) are disabled in Survival Mode. If you are playing in Survival Mode, you

can turn it off here but if you do, you will not be able to turn it on again for this company.

Instant Transport Player: Toggles the ability to instantly transport yourself to any airport within

the OnAir World. Even when this is turned off by choice or in Survival Mode, you will still have

the option to instantly transport yourself to the location of an aircraft that you rent or buy for

your company as long as you have not yet completed any flights.

Instant Transport Employee: Toggles the ability to instantly transport any of your employees to

any airport within the OnAir World.

Checkride difficulty: Sets the difficulty level of aircraft class certification Checkrides. This does

not affect the checkrides of your employees.

Page 17: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 16

Minimum Aircraft renting time: Sets the minimum hours of rental time that you will be charged

for when renting aircraft for your company. The options have the following minimums:

Realistic Medium Low

Single Engine Piston 4h/day 2h/day 1h/day

Multi-Engine Piston 5h/day 2.5h/day 1.25h/day

Turboprops 6h/day 3h/day 1.5h/day

Jets and Heavy Jets 8h/day 4h/day 2h/day

Helicopters 4h/day 2h/day 1h/day

Instant cargo and PAX loading: Toggles instant cargo and passenger loading during Flight

Preparation.

Unlock all Skill Tree: When you turn this on, all the skills in the Company Skill Tree will be

unlocked, allowing you to take advantage of every company feature and bonus right away. If

you decide to turn this off again, the Company Skill Tree will be reset to how it was before it was

fully unlocked. See the Company Skill Tree chapter for details on what each skill does.

Disable employee rest: Toggles your company employees’ automatic rest. When this is turned

on, your employees will not require rest in between their duty shifts but your company will still

be charged an overtime penalty each time you force them to work past their duty hours. See the

Employees chapter for more details on employee management.

Don’t Force time in sim: If you turn this on, you will be allowed to fly at any time and date in

your simulator, instead of conforming to the current UTC time. This also eliminates the need to

set a Company UTC offset. When this is on, “Disable Landing Penalties” is automatically turned

on as well. This option also disables the warp delay that would normally occur when time

acceleration is used during a simulator flight.

o Disable Landing Penalties: Turning this on disables the 200cr landing penalty incurred

when landing at an airport outside of its regular operating hours. This also applies to

your company’s flights performed by your AI pilots. This option can be turned on

independently of its parent setting.

Jobs Pay Bonus: If you would like to speed up your path to riches, this is where you can increase

the amount of credits you will receive for completing jobs. The maximum bonus is 90%.

❗ Notes: Remember to click “Save” to apply any changes made to your settings but keep in

mind that many settings cannot be changed if you have any active flights in your company

(yourself or AI).

Pause my Company: You can pause your company if you need to be away from it for a while.

When you pause, your loans and aircraft ownership costs are paused and long-term (but not

freelance) employees will not get paid. The cost to pause your company depends on your

company value. The formula is: company value/100 + 4000cr. You cannot pause if you have any

rented aircraft.

Restart my Company: Use this with caution as it will permanently erase your current company,

allowing you to create a new one.

5. Jobs One of the best ways to make money for your company, is to find jobs which you or your AI pilots can

fly. There are several pages that help you search for available jobs as well as manage jobs that you have

already accepted. To access these pages, you can:

Use the “World” menu and select “Find Jobs” which will bring you to the Logistic Center, where

you can search for available jobs.

Use the “target” ( ) button on the Main Menu (this is the third shortcut button) which will

bring you to the Pending Jobs page, where you can view and manage all the jobs that you have

already accepted, as well as any Missions that have been assigned to your company.

5.1 Logistic Center The Logistic Center is the OnAir World search engine for finding available jobs. Here, you can enter your

desired search parameters, click the “Query Logistic Center” button (it will turn blue and become

enabled when all required search parameters have been entered) and after a short wait, you will be

presented with a list of available jobs. All jobs that you find via the Logistic Center are also available to

other users of the OnAir World so if you find a job that is just perfect for your needs, don’t wait too long

to take it, as any other player could take it before you, making it no longer available. If all jobs for

specific search parameters are taken by players, the system will generate new ones but there is no

guarantee that the same “perfect” job will appear again.

Example of Logistic Center search results:

For your search parameters, you can enter the following:

Airport: The ICAO code for the airport around which the search will focus. You can use the blue

“plus” button to search for an airport by name, if you don’t know its code. Once a valid code is

entered, the name and size of the airport will be displayed to the right.

Range: Distance range for the search.

Search surrounding Airports: Use this if you would like the search to also include the 10 closest

airports within 100 NM of your chosen airport. Otherwise, the search results will only contain

jobs from or to your chosen airport, depending on what you selected for “Direction”. Please

note that using this option will cause the search to take several seconds longer.

Direction: Select whether the search should return jobs from or to your chosen airport.

Page 20: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 19

Cargo max weight: Set the maximum cargo weight for each job in the search results. The upper

search limit is 500,000 lbs.

Max Passengers: Set the maximum passengers for each job in the search results. The upper

search limit is 1,000 passengers.

Apply Filters: The “Cargo max weight” and “Max Passengers” filters will only be in effect if this is

checked. Otherwise, all jobs for the selected range will be displayed. This checkbox is off by

default.

Query Logistic Center: This button will execute the search. Please note that it will only turn blue

and be enabled when all search parameters have been correctly entered.

💡 Tip: You can use the mouse wheel to change the values of “Cargo max weight” by 50 lbs. for each

click and of “Max Passengers” by 1 passenger for each click.

Once the search is complete, the results below will display all the currently available jobs that match

your search parameters. The max cargo and max passengers filters can be used to narrow the results

without needing to execute another search but changing any of the other parameters will require

another query to be executed.

5.1.1 Types of Jobs

Here is a list of all the different types of jobs that you may encounter:

Goods Transport: These jobs require you to deliver one of several types of common cargo. They

are usually just one leg trips but can sometimes have more than one.

Business Trip (requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the Company Skill Tree): As above

but require transport of passengers.

Perishable Food Transport: These jobs usually involve cargo that has a specific time when it

becomes available. Even if the expiry time of the job itself is well into the future, the actual

delivery window (the time between when the cargo becomes available and the time the delivery

must be completed) will usually be short. You may sometimes be fortunate and find one of

these jobs with already available cargo and be able to take it and start the delivery right away.

However, most often you will have to wait anywhere from a few hours to over a day before the

cargo becomes available allowing you to load it onto an aircraft. If that is the case, you can

either take the job right away, making sure that you keep track of the time when the cargo is

going to be available or favorite the job (using the star in the last column) and keep an eye on it

from the Favorited Jobs page.

Event Logistic: These jobs involve taking both cargo and passengers from different locations to

one central destination of an event. Short distance and small load jobs can usually be completed

with just one aircraft but ones with longer distances and larger loads that are spread further

apart are best done by multiple aircraft for best efficiency. Parts of these kinds of jobs can even

be outsourced to other players for a cooperative experience. More details on this can be found

in the Outsourcing Jobs section of this chapter and in the Outsourcing and Social chapter itself.

Medical Transportation (requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the Company Skill Tree):

These jobs require you to transport either sensitive medical cargo or medical personnel. Often,

Page 21: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 20

the medical cargo will not be available until a specific time, just like in the Perishable Food

Transport Jobs described above.

Dangerous Material Transportation (requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the

Company Skill Tree): These jobs involve transporting dangerous materials such as chemicals or

fragile industrial parts.

Logistic Query: Found on the FBO Queries page, these jobs are created by your own FBOs, after

you set up Logistic Queries on your FBO’s management page. These are jobs that have specific

parameters which you can select when setting up your Logistic Queries. More details on this

topic can be found in the FBO Management section of the Airports and FBOs chapter.

Outsourcing Jobs: Found only on the Outsourcing Jobs page, these jobs are created by other

players using the Outsourcing feature. More details on Outsourcing can be found in the

Outsourcing and Social chapter.

Missions: Found only on the Pending Jobs page, these are special types of jobs that are assigned

automatically to your company as it gains levels. Missions never expire, award large amounts of

XP and encourage you to visit areas that you may not normally fly to.

Last Minute Jobs: Any job that expires in less than 24 hours becomes a Last Minute Job, which

also requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the Company Skill Tree.

5.1.2 Job Search Results There is a lot of information displayed for each job in the search results, and below are details describing

what you may find in each column:

(This first list gives column details for jobs in their collapsed state; when the “plus” symbol in front of the

job is showing. Details on the columns for jobs in their expanded state are given a little further down.)

Expand/Collapse: In this first column, you can use the plus/minus buttons to expand each job to

show more details about it. At the very top of this column, is an “expand/collapse all” jobs

button.

Take: This column contains the “Take” button, which when enabled and blue, can be used to

accept the job. When this button is not enabled and grayed out, hovering over it will display a

tooltip that explains the reason, which will most likely be that your company has not yet

unlocked the required skill to accept this type of a job.

Base: This column displays the main airport related to each job. For simple A -> B jobs, it will

usually be the departure airport. For Event Logistic Jobs, it will be the central destination airport.

You can hover over the airport ICAO code in this column to display a tooltip that shows a short

name of the airport. The codes in this column are also links that when clicked, will load the

Airport Details page.

Description: In this column, you will find a description of the type of job it is, as described in the

Types of Jobs section above.

Heading: This is the magnetic heading of the job, or of the longest leg if the job has multiple

parts.

Distance: Here, you will find the travel distance of the job or the length of the longest leg, if the

job has multiple parts.

Cargo: This is the total weight of all cargo that needs to be transported for the job.

Pax: Here, you will find the total number of passengers that need to be transported for the job.

Page 22: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 21

Expires: This column gives a visual color indication of the job expiry. You can hover over the

colored dots to display a tooltip that shows an exact expiry date and time, as well as how many

days, hours and minutes you have to complete the job. The color indicates the following job

expiry ranges:

XP: Most regular jobs, unlike Missions, do not award any extra XP besides what you get from the

actual flight that you perform yourself in your simulator. However, if a job does provide any

extra XP, the amount will be listed in this column.

Penalty: In this column, you will find the penalty amount that you will have to pay if you deliver

the job late or cancel it after the specified expiration date.

Pay: This is a column that you will surely pay a lot of attention to, as it indicates the total

amount of credits you will receive upon successful completion of the job, if you accept it now.

You can hover over the number to display a tooltip with a detailed breakdown of this value. For

example; if your company has any Bonus Pay, the popup will show the values of the base pay

and of the Bonus Pay. For last-minute jobs (ones that expire in less than 24 hours), the popup

will also show the value of the last-minute bonus; the sooner the job expires, the higher the last-

minute bonus will be, but this bonus will no longer increase after you accept the job.

Constraints: In this column, located between the “Pay” and “Fav.” columns, is where you might

find either a blue joystick symbol ( ) or a colored clock ( ) symbol:

o The blue joystick symbol indicates that at least one part of the job has to be flown

personally by you and not by an AI pilot.

o The clock symbol indicates that the job (or part thereof) has some cargo that might not

be available for pickup right away. The color of the symbol gives an indication of the

soonest available cargo related to this job, using the following ranges:

Fav: This final column, is where you can favorite a job by clicking on the star symbol ( ) which

will then turn yellow ( ). All favorited jobs are displayed on the Favorited Jobs page for future

reference.

Page 23: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 22

The following list gives column details for jobs in their expanded state; when the “minus” symbol in

front of the job is showing:

From/To: The job’s originating and destination locations. Please note that if the job has multiple

parts, each “From” and/or “To” location may be different.

Current: The current location of the cargo or passengers for each part of the job. This can

sometimes differ from the originating destination if the job was accepted and partially

completed by a player and then abandoned at another location.

The contents of the “From/To” and “Current” columns are links and can be clicked to display the

Airport Details page.

Details: Description of the type of cargo or passengers.

Cargo: The amount of cargo to be transported, displayed in pounds.

Pax: The number of passengers to be transported.

Head/Dist: The magnetic heading and distance in nautical miles.

Constraint: If any part of the job has a constraint, the next column will indicate that by

displaying a symbol:

o A blue joystick symbol ( ) indicates that this part of the job has to be flown personally

by you and not by an AI pilot.

o A colored clock symbol ( ) indicates that this part of the job has cargo that might not be

available for pickup right away. The color of the symbol gives an indication of how soon

the cargo will become available, as described in the section above. You can hover over

the clock symbol to display a tooltip that will show exact details relating to the cargo

availability time.

💡 Tip: Use the favorite job feature when you are looking through a long list of jobs and want to

remember specific ones. For example, when looking for multiple jobs to load onto one aircraft, you

can favorite each one that might be a good fit and then look at them all in an isolated list on the

Favorited Jobs page.

💡 User Interface Tips:

You can use the up/down arrow keys on your keyboard instead of the mouse to navigate the

list of jobs in the search results.

You can sort the search results by clicking on most of the column titles.

You can filter some table columns to narrow down what is displayed. Just look for the little

“filter” button in the column’s header. You can also perform a Full Text Search by using Ctrl-F

on the table of results.

Page 24: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 23

Each column in the search results can be resized by grabbing and moving its vertical separator

line left or right.

The column order can be rearranged by grabbing the title and moving it left or right.

5.2 Pending Jobs The Pending Jobs page is where you will find all the jobs that you have accepted as well as any Missions

that have been assigned to your company.

Most of the information on this page is similar to what you will find in the Logistic Center as described

above, with the following exceptions:

The page header displays your company’s Pay Bonus Factor, if any.

There is a “Don’t show Missions” checkbox which hides all Missions from the list of jobs.

If a job can be abandoned, the “Abandon” button will be enabled and blue. When you abandon

a job, you will have to pay a penalty, but you will have the chance to confirm or cancel after you

use this button. Abandoning a job also incurs a company reputation loss. If the button is

disabled and grayed out, you can hover over it to display a tooltip that explains the reason why.

The reasons why a job cannot be abandoned are:

o The job is a Mission

o At least one part of the job is currently loaded onto an aircraft

o You have outsourced this job (or parts thereof) or it is an Outsourced Job that you

accepted

If a job is a Mission, the description of it will be displayed in a different color.

In the “Current” column of an expanded job, the location may show an aircraft registration

number if the cargo or passengers are currently loaded onto an aircraft, as is the case with the

second job in the list, shown in the picture above. Clicking on the registration number will load

the Aircraft Details page.

Page 25: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 24

If a job or a part thereof can be outsourced, an “Outsource” button will be displayed which

when clicked, will take you to a page where you can set the parameters and make the job

available to other players. More details on this can be found in the Outsourcing Jobs section of

this chapter and in the Outsourcing and Social chapter.

5.3 Favorited Jobs The Favorited Jobs page displays all the jobs that you have marked as favorite in the Logistic Center.

The jobs displayed here, include both accepted jobs and jobs that you have not yet accepted. You can

accept (“Take”) and abandon jobs from this page, if you like. You can also un-favorite jobs here by

clicking the yellow star and the next time this page is loaded, those jobs will no longer be displayed here.

All other information on this page is similar to that found on the Logistic Center and Pending Jobs pages,

as described above.

Page 26: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 25

5.4 FBO Queries On this page, you will find special jobs that are created by your FBOs.

FBO Query Jobs are set up using the FBO Management page and are tailored to the parameters that you

choose (size of job, distance, direction, etc.).

The information on this page is similar to what you will find on the other pages in this section as

described above, with the following exceptions:

There is a “Select an FBO” drop-down box in which you can select the FBO from which you

would like to see FBO Query Jobs displayed.

The “Next Queries” area shows when the next FBO Query Jobs will be generated in one of the

three possible, color coded queues.

The “Manage FBO” button will load the currently selected FBO’s management page.

The “Que” column displays the color of the queue from which each job has been generated.

Page 27: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 26

5.5 Outsourcing Jobs The Outsourcing Jobs page is similar to the Logistic Center page, except that it searches and displays

only jobs that have been outsourced by other companies.

As you can see in the picture above, a search was executed with specific parameters and the results

show one job that was outsourced by another company whose name is shown in the “Description”

column. You can accept this job using the “Take” button, just like any other job in the Logistic Center.

The job expiry and pay shown here are set by the outsourcing company so make sure to carefully

examine the terms before you accept such a job. The only other difference on this page is the presence

of the “Outsource” button, which loads the Outsourcing Proposal page, described in detail below.

❗ Note: Outsourced Jobs do not have financial penalties for late delivery like regular jobs, they simply

expire. However, your company will incur a reputation loss if you don’t complete an Outsourced Job

on time.

When you use the “Outsource” button, the page in the picture above will load. From here, you can send

an Outsourcing Proposal to other players within the OnAir World, using the following parameters:

Wages offered: Set the amount of credits that your company will pay to the player who accepts

and completes the job on time.

Page 28: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 27

Automatically cancelled at: Set the date and time when the Outsourcing Proposal will

automatically expire if no one accepts it. The default is one hour.

Has to be flown between: Set the time period for when you need this job completed. This can be

different from the job’s actual expiration date.

Select the cargo and pax you want to outsource: Here, you will see a list of all your company’s

Pending Jobs that are eligible for Outsourcing. You can expand/collapse each job by using the

plus/minus buttons. When a job is expanded, you can check the boxes in its “Outsource” column

to mark them for Outsourcing. Multiple jobs and/or parts thereof can be selected and when you

are happy with all of the parameters, use the “Publish on the global billboard” button to create

the Outsourcing Proposal. Once created, anyone (or just your partners if you used the “Friends

only” option) will be able to search for this job on the Outsourcing Jobs page, as described

above.

Friends only: If you select this, the Outsourcing Proposal will only be visible and available to

companies with whom you have an active Partnership.

❗ Note: An Outsourced Job cannot be abandoned by either the company that outsourced it or

by the company that accepted it. Once the due date set in the outsourcing parameters passes,

the job will be removed from the Pending Pobs of the company that accepted it. Otherwise, it

will be removed when the job’s actual expiration date passes.

Page 29: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 28

5.6 Jobs Map While viewing any of the job pages, the right side of the OnAir application displays a map with visual

representations of the route(s) for any job that you have selected in one of the job lists. The map can be

panned by holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse and it can be zoomed in/out by

using the middle mouse wheel.

The following job is selected and displayed on the map above:

Page 30: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 29

1. In the upper left corner of the map, you can enter a valid airport ICAO code and the map will

move to center on it. You can use the “plus” button to search for an airport by name, if you are

not familiar with its code. If you have moved the map around, you can use the “Center” button

to re-center the view on the entered airport.

2. Using the two checkboxes here, you can toggle the display of your company’s aircraft as well as

all other airports on the map that are not related to the currently selected job. Please note that

you must zoom in close enough to see other airports and the closer you zoom in, the smaller the

airports that will be shown. #12 in the picture above will display colored dots to indicate which

airports are currently being shown on the map, depending on the zoom level.

3. The upper right corner of the map displays the current UTC time and date and below it, is a

small button which provides an additional way to select one of the job pages (Logistic Center,

Pending, Favorited, FBO Queries and Outsourcing).

4. This map overview in the upper right can be used to quickly move the main map to another part

of the world and can be toggled via the arrow button in its upper right corner.

5. A square airport icon indicates the location of one of your company’s FBOs.

6. Most airports on the map will have round icons. The color, as well as the small dots below the

ICAO code indicate the size of the airport:

Note: Hovering over any airport icon will display a tooltip with the airport’s name, altitude and size.

Page 31: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

7. This area is a visual representation of the currently selected job. All legs of the job are depicted

with red dashed lines except for the currently selected leg, which is shown with a purple dashed

line. Other important information is also shown:

Note: Hovering over any of the blue passenger or green cargo icons will display a tooltip with the

size and destination of the load.

8. The aircraft icons represent your company’s aircraft:

Note: Hovering over any of the aircraft icons will display a tooltip with details about the aircraft’s

current state, including its name, registration number, location and other pertinent information.

Page 32: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 31

In the upper right of each aircraft icon is a small status indicator:

* Apron work indicates loading/unloading or refueling.

** In warp indicates that the aircraft is unavailable because accelerated time was used in your

simulator during the flight. It will become available when the actual real time that the flight

should have been completed has passed. This warp delay can be disabled in the Global Settings

if you are not playing on Survival Mode by using the ”Don’t force time in sim” option.

Note: Hovering over any of the aircraft status icons will display a tooltip with more details.

9. If any airport on the map is selected by clicking on it, a small menu will appear at the bottom left

of the map:

Here, you will see the airport ICAO code, its altitude and size and two buttons. Clicking the

”Airport Sheet” button will load the Airport Details page and clicking the ”target” button will

start a Logistic Center job search using the selected airport as the search focus.

10. The bottom left corner of the map displays the latitude and longitude coordinates under the

current mouse position.

11. At the bottom center of the map is the map display control panel:

The “eye” button on the left lets you select the type of map style that you would like displayed.

The arrow buttons in the middle provide an alternate way of panning the map while the button

in the center toggles the display of the control panel. The “magnifying glass” button on the right

provides an alternate way of setting the zoom level of the map, including several presets.

Page 33: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 32

12. The bottom right corner of the map displays a legend of the currently visible airports (if any) and

the current map scale:

If ”Show other Airports” is turned on in #2 above, the legend will indicate what size airports are

being displayed on the map, based on the current zoom level. The closer you zoom in, the

smaller the airports that will be displayed.

5.7 Completed Jobs You can view a record of all your company’s completed jobs by selecting “Completed Jobs” from the

“My Company” menu.

Note: The XP shown here is the XP gained for completing the job and not the XP gained for the flight

itself, when flown yourself in your simulator. XP amounts gained for flights flown in your simulator can

be found on the My Flight Logs page.

Page 34: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 33

6. Finances OnAir provides you, the company CEO, with a variety of records which you can view to help you keep an

eye on the financial health of your company. All the financial pages can be accessed from the “My

Company” menu.

6.1 Balance Sheet The Balance Sheet provides an overview of your company’s Cash and Assets as well as your Liabilities

and Owner’s Equity.

On the left side, you can see the value of all your company’s FBO upgrades, your cash, your aircraft and

the fuel located at all your FBOs.

On the right side, you can see the value of your Share Capital (the amount you started with when you

first created your company which is determined by the difficulty level you selected) and any outstanding

loans.

The current value of your company, which is the Cash and Assets minus the Liabilities and Owner’s

Equity is displayed at the bottom of the page.

Page 35: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 34

6.2 Income Statement The Income Statement displays categorized details about your company’s Revenues and Expenses.

On the left side, you can see each source of revenue and on the right side, you can see each source of

expense for the selected time period.

The total net income for the selected time period is displayed at the bottom of the page.

Page 36: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

6.3 Company Ratios The Company Ratios page displays your company’s Debt Ratio as well as the Return on Assets

percentage.

The debt ratio is a financial ratio that measures the extent of a company’s leverage. The debt ratio is

defined as the ratio of total debt to total assets, expressed as a decimal or percentage. It can be

interpreted as the proportion of the company’s assets that are financed by debt.

Return on assets (ROA) is an indicator of how profitable a company is relative to its total assets and is

displayed as a percentage.

These values are relevant if you play on Survival Mode and will be displayed on the upcoming leader

boards.

Page 37: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 36

6.4 Cash Flow Statement The Cash Flow Statement allows you to view your company’s Balance Sheet.

On this page, you can view a detailed record of your company’s every income and expense. The amount

of your company’s current cash is displayed at the top of the page.

6.5 Cash Flow History The Cash Flow History is a graphical representation of your company’s cash and can be filtered to show

only a specific time period.

Page 38: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

6.6 Loans On the Loans page, you can either take out a loan for your company (requires the appropriate skill to be

unlocked in the Company Skill Tree) or view details about your current loan. You can only have one

active loan at any given time.

The above picture shows the Loans page for a company that does not yet have any outstanding loans.

Here, you can see every loan proposal that is currently available to your company. The maximum loan

amount that you will be able to secure depends on your company value and its reputation as well as the

difficulty level that you selected when creating your company. Please note that there are loans available

of the same amount with different durations, weekly payments and annual rates so choose carefully

whether you prefer smaller weekly payments or lower annual rates. Once you have decided on the loan

that you like, use the ”Accept” button and the cash will be instantly transferred to your company

account.

The above picture shows the Loans page for a company that has an outstanding loan. All details about

the loan are displayed here. If you would like to completely repay this loan, you can use the ”Repay”

button.

❗ Note: Repaying a loan early incurs a 10% additional charge as a penalty.

7. Aircraft If you have read the chapter on Jobs, you should be familiar with how to find and manage jobs but to

actually start making money for your company by completing jobs, you will need to obtain at least one

aircraft. This chapter covers everything you need to know about renting or buying and maintaining your

aircraft.

7.1 Aircraft Market The global Aircraft Market is where you can either rent or buy a large variety of aircraft. To access the

Aircraft Market, use the “World” menu and select “Buy/Rent Aircraft”. All aircraft that you will see on

this page have been imported into the system by players like yourself.

Use the “Choose in a list” button shown above to gain access to the “Select an aircraft class” area below.

💡 Tip: If you are looking to rent or buy an aircraft that you plan on flying yourself in your simulator,

the best way to make sure that you select the right one is to use the blue “Search for the aircraft I

have loaded in my Sim” button, located in the upper left. Your aircraft must be loaded up in your

simulator at any airport, otherwise OnAir will not be able to detect it. If your aircraft is not yet in the

system, it will be imported as long as OnAir is able to successfully detect it.

Page 40: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 39

The Aircraft Market window is divided into three main areas and they are described below:

1. To start searching the market for a specific aircraft, either load it up in your simulator at any

airport and use the blue “Search for the aircraft I have loaded in my Sim” button, as described in

the 💡 Tip above or use the “Choose in a list” button on the right and then select an aircraft

class from the drop-down box. You can provide an optional keyword (“172”, “Airbus” etc.)

before clicking the “Search” button.

2. If you searched for the aircraft loaded in your simulator and OnAir is able to successfully detect

it, this area will contain only the specific aircraft that you are looking for. If you used the Aircraft

class drop-down box and performed your search that way, this area will display a list of all

aircraft which are currently in the database that match your selected aircraft class. For client

performance reasons, the list has multiple pages and can be sorted by clicking on the column

titles and also filtered by using the little “filter” button in each column header. Selecting an

aircraft in this list will place it into window #3, where you can search the market for its

availability around a specific airport. Below is a description of the contents in each column in the

list:

o Sim: The simulator from which this aircraft was imported. This is very important if you

plan on flying this aircraft yourself but has no effect on flights performed by your AI

pilots.

o Type: This is the type (name) of the aircraft, as read from its config file when it was

imported.

o Max Price: This column displays the maximum selling price that the system will charge

for this aircraft in a used condition. Keep in mind that players can put aircraft that they

own on the market also and charge any amount.

o Load: This is the maximum weight of cargo and passengers that you can load onto this

aircraft.

o Range: This is the maximum range of the aircraft with full tanks of fuel.

o Speed: This column displays the average cruise speed of the aircraft in KTAS.

o Seats: This is the maximum number of passenger seats in the economy configuration.

3. This part of the Aircraft Market page is where you can perform a location specific market search

for any aircraft that you have selected in window #2. Your search radius can be set anywhere

between 100 NM and 1,000 NM around any valid airport ICAO code. If you are not familiar with

the ICAO code, you can use the “plus” button to search for an airport by its name. When ready,

use the “Search Aircraft Database” button and after a short wait, you will see a list of all

available aircraft matching your parameters. You can sort the list by clicking on the column titles

and also filter it by using the little “filter” button in some of the column headers. Below is a

description of the contents in each column in the list:

o ID: This represents the registration number of the aircraft.

o Hours: This is the total number of airframe hours for this aircraft. Hovering over this

value will display a tooltip that shows how many hours are considered high time for this

type of aircraft. Aircraft with over high time hours have a greater chance of engine

failure.

Page 41: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 40

o Condition: This represents the condition of the airframe. This value decreases with

flights and with time but can be increased with repairs and during 100-hour and annual

checkups. The condition affects the probability of failure of aircraft components and the

lower the condition, the higher the maintenance cost will be. Hovering over the colored

bar will display a tooltip with the exact condition of the airframe. The colored bars

represent the following ranges:

▪ Green: 91% - 100%

▪ Yellow: 76% - 90%

▪ Orange: 61% - 75%

▪ Red: 0% - 60%

❗ Note: An aircraft with an airframe condition of 50% or lower is not

operational and must be repaired before it can be flown again.

o Engine: This column shows the condition of the worst engine on the aircraft, or of the

only one, in the case of a single engine aircraft. Hovering over the colored bar will

display a tooltip that shows the engine number and its exact condition. The colored bars

represent the same ranges as in the Condition column.

❗ Notes: An aircraft with any engine that has a condition of 50% or lower is not

operational and must be repaired before it can be flown again. Complete engine

failure is only possible for AI flights.

o Airport: This is the current location of the aircraft. Hovering over the ICAO code will

display a tooltip with a short name of the airport and its size and elevation.

o Range: This column displays how far the aircraft is from the search location.

o Sell Price: This is the price that you will have to pay to buy this aircraft. Please note that

some aircraft are only available for rent.

o Rent Price: This is the hourly rental cost for the aircraft. Please note that some aircraft

are only available to buy. There are realistic minimum daily rental charges for each type

of aircraft but if you are not playing on Survival Mode, these minimums can be adjusted

in the Global Settings by using the “Minimum Aircraft renting time” drop-down box. The

options are: Realistic, Medium and Low:

Realistic Medium Low

Single Engine Piston 4h/day 2h/day 1h/day

Multi-Engine Piston 5h/day 2.5h/day 1.25h/day

Turboprops 6h/day 3h/day 1.5h/day

Jets and Heavy Jets 8h/day 4h/day 2h/day

Helicopters 4h/day 2h/day 1h/day

o Actions: This column contains the “Get Detail” button which when used, loads the

Aircraft Details page described in the following section.

7.2 Aircraft Details This page, containing all the details about a specific aircraft, can be accessed in several ways by using the

button with three little dots ( ) located:

On the Live Map (at the bottom right corner of each aircraft tile).

On the My Aircraft page, accessed from the “My Company” menu.

On the Airport Details page where the aircraft is located (in the My Aircraft area on the right

side of the page).

On the Aircraft Market page, by using the “Get Detail” button. If you are accessing the Aircraft

Details page from the Aircraft Market page, #5 in the large picture below will be replaced by the

following, where you can buy or rent the aircraft:

1. In this area, you will find buttons that are relevant to the current state of the aircraft:

o Events: This button opens up a window with a record of all events pertaining to this

aircraft. This includes loading of cargo or passengers, flight diversion messages due to

weather, changes in the aircraft’s value, any registered flights, wear and tear changes

etc. You can maximize this window to see any text that might otherwise be cut off.

o Flights: This button loads the My Flight Logs page for this aircraft. On this page, you will

find a detailed record of every flight made with this aircraft while in your fleet.

o Checkride: If this aircraft is currently in your company’s fleet and not otherwise busy and

you don’t yet have a certificate to fly this type of aircraft, you can use this button to

start a checkride. Checkrides can also be started from the Live Map and from the My

Aircraft page and are described in detail in the Checkrides section of the Flights chapter.

o Maintenance: If you currently own this aircraft and it is not otherwise busy, you can use

this button to load a page from which you can perform maintenance or repairs on this

aircraft. This page is described in detail later in this chapter. Please note that you cannot

perform maintenance or repairs on rented aircraft.

o Stop the Rent (not shown in the picture): If you are currently renting this aircraft and it is

not otherwise busy, you can stop renting it by using this button. A small window will

open and show any financial implications that you will face by stopping the rent. You

can then accept or decline.

o Unmoderated Aircraft (also not shown in the picture): If this aircraft has not yet been

moderated (its parameters checked and adjusted for realism by our staff), you will find a

message informing you of this on the right side of this area. As the message will state,

be aware that the parameters of this aircraft may change in the near future.

💡 Tip: Always try to return your rented aircraft to where you rented it from and with

at least as much fuel as it had when you got it. This will prevent you from having to

pay a fee to have the aircraft flown back to its home location and/or being refueled.

2. This area contains details pertaining to the aircraft’s operation and limits:

Page 44: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 43

o The following data is taken directly from the simulator when the aircraft is imported by a

player and cannot usually be changed, even if it does not accurately portray values of

the real aircraft:

o Fuel Capacity (and number of fuel tanks)

o Empty Weight

o Max. Cargo Load

o Max. Gross Weight

o The following data is moderated by our staff and can be changed, if found to be

sufficiently inaccurate:

o Class

o Fuel Type

o Estimated Cruise FF (Fuel Flow)

o Practical Range - this will automatically change if Fuel Flow and/or Design Cruise Speed

is adjusted

o Design Cruise Speed

o Design VS0 (stall speed in landing configuration)

o Needs a copilot - a copilot is needed when either the maximum gross weight is greater

than 12,000 lbs. or if the maximum seating capacity is 14 or more.

o Maximum Seats - this is the maximum number of passenger seats in an economy

configuration and is initially calculated with a formula that involves the aircraft’s weight

and fuel capacity

❗ Note: The estimated average fuel flow and cruise speed values shown on the

Aircraft Details page only apply to flights performed by AI pilots. Flights that you

perform yourself, use your actual performance within your simulator. To get accurate

data for fuel flow and cruise speeds at different altitudes, we implemented a

mechanism where each flight performed by a non-AI pilot will consolidate the aircraft

metadata in the global database. When we have enough data, we plan to publish the

aircraft database including graphs with aircraft speeds and fuel consumption for

different flight levels coming from all the non-AI flights performed in OnAir.

3. Here, you can upload a free rights image of the aircraft. Please keep in mind that this image can

be seen by all other players and needs to be free from any copyright issues. The best way to do

this is to capture simulator screenshots while flying. If there is more than one image already

present, you can use the left/right arrows below the image to cycle through them.

Page 45: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

4. This area contains specific details about the aircraft’s condition and maintenance costs, as well

as some other important information, including the aircraft’s current location:

o Airframe Condition: This represents the condition of the airframe. This value decreases

with flights and with time but can be increased with repairs and during 100-hour and

annual checkups. The condition affects the probability of failure of aircraft components

and the lower the condition, the higher the maintenance cost will be.

❗ Note: An aircraft with an airframe condition of 50% or lower is not operational and

must be repaired before it can be flown again.

o Engine(s) SMOH: This is the amount of running hours that have passed Since the last

Major OverHaul for each of the aircraft’s engines. The Time Between Overhaul is listed

under Engine TBO. You can continue flying when you reach the TBO, but the risk of

engine failure will greatly increase with time.

o Engine(s) Condition: This displays the condition of each engine on the aircraft.

❗ Note: An aircraft with any engine that has a condition of 50% or lower is not

operational and must be repaired before it can be flown again. Complete engine

failure is only possible for AI flights.

o Registration Number: The unique registration number for this aircraft.

o Airframe Time: This is the total number of flight hours for this aircraft. You can hover

over the small “i” to see what is considered high time for this type of aircraft. Aircraft

with over high time hours have a greater chance of engine failure.

o Fuel on Board: Here, you can see the current amount of fuel followed by the maximum

fuel.

o Date of next annual checkup and Hours left before 100h inspection: This is important

because an aircraft cannot fly if one of these is required.

💡 Tip: Take note of these before you rent or buy and also keep an eye on them from

time to time to ensure that you don’t create a delay for your job deliveries because

you forgot to perform one of these maintenance services before they were due.

o Estimated by Expert: This is the expert appraised market value of the aircraft in its

current condition.

o Seats: This is the current number of seats followed by the maximum number of seats on

this specific aircraft. Owners can remove seats to make room for more cargo so keep an

eye on these numbers, especially if you plan on renting this aircraft because you won’t

be able to change the seating configuration unless you buy it.

Page 46: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 45

o Aircraft unique ID: This code represents the aircraft’s unique ID within the OnAir World.

You may be asked to provide the developers with this code if you need help with an

issue pertaining to this aircraft.

o Cost Estimations: This area displays the known costs of several maintenance services, as

well as the time between overhaul (TBO) for the engines. The cost for any other specific

maintenance or repair services can be obtained with a quote on the Aircraft

Maintenance page, which is described later in this chapter.

o If applicable, below the Cost Estimations area, you will see information about the

aircraft’s current rental status - either when this is an aircraft that you are renting or if

this is your own aircraft which is being rented by another player’s company.

❗ Note: You cannot perform maintenance or repairs on rented aircraft. If one of your

rented aircraft requires such service and is no longer operational because of this, you

will have to stop the rent which will cause it to be returned to its home location,

where it can be serviced or repaired by the owner (either OnAir or an actual player).

You may have to pay some costs, but the majority will be taken care of by the owner’s

insurance. Any cargo, passengers and crew that were on board the aircraft will be

unloaded at the airport before the aircraft is returned. You can then make

arrangements to continue transporting your load with another aircraft.

5. In this area, you can rent and/or sell your aircraft to other players within the OnAir World:

o If you would like to make it available for rent, you can decide the per hour price as well

as the latest date when the aircraft has to be returned.

o If you would like to sell it and are not in a hurry, you can put the aircraft on the market

by entering whatever price you like. You can also sell it immediately by using the

“Immediate Sell” button and you will instantly receive the immediate selling price listed,

which is usually less than the appraised value of the aircraft.

💡 Tip: Remember to use the checkboxes to “Allow Renting to Players...” and/or “Put

on market...”, otherwise your aircraft will not be available for others to rent or buy.

After you have made any changes, please use the “Update” button. Of course, if you

don’t own this aircraft, the “Sell and Rent status” area will not be visible.

Page 47: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

6. This shows details about any cargo or passengers that are currently loaded onto the aircraft:

You can hover over the ICAO codes to see a short airport name and its size or you can click on them

to load the Airport Details page. You can also hover over the colored “Due” dot to see how much time

is left before a load of cargo or passengers is due.

7.3 My Aircraft The My Aircraft page, accessible from the “My Company” menu, contains a list of every aircraft that is

currently in your company’s fleet. This includes both rented and owned aircraft.

From here, you can view the main properties of your aircraft as well as manage each one by using one of

the action buttons in the Manage column. If an aircraft is not in flight, you can click on the airport code

in the Position column to open up the Airport Details page for the airport where the aircraft is currently

located. The Status column contains icons corresponding to each aircraft’s current state as follows:

* Apron work indicates loading/unloading

or refueling.

** In warp indicates that the aircraft is

unavailable because accelerated time was

used in the simulator during the flight. It

will become available when the actual real

time that the flight should have been

completed has passed. This warp delay can

be disabled in the Global Settings if you

are not playing on Survival Mode by using

the ”Don’t force time in sim” option.

Note: Hovering over any of the aircraft status icons will display a tooltip with more details.

In the Manage column, you will see action buttons that are applicable to the aircraft’s current state:

7.4 Work Orders The Work Orders feature is designed to help take some of the micromanagement load out of your busy

day as an airline CEO, by allowing you to create multiple leg flight schedules for your aircraft, which they

will follow automatically on their own. Work Orders are attached to individual aircraft and can be

accessed from the My Aircraft page.

When you use the Work orders ( ) button on an aircraft for the first time, you will be taken to

a blank Work Orders page from which you can create your first Work Order. Once you do that, you will

see a page similar to the picture above (except that one leg has already been added in the above

example). Details on the functionality of this page are described below:

Header: The blue header shows the aircraft name and registration as well as its location and a

button to display it on the Live Map. The current UTC time is also shown.

Add Work Order and Refresh: With these buttons, located just under the header, you can add a

new Work Order for this aircraft and refresh the Work Orders status.

Work Orders list: Below is a horizontal list of all the Work Orders that have been created for this

aircraft. Each box shows the Work Order name, starting date/time and status. You can also start

and delete each Work Order and pause it if it is in progress. At the bottom of each Work Order

box is a progress bar. Clicking on any Work Order box will select it and display its information

below.

Title: Here, you can name the currently selected Work Order to make it easier to keep track of.

This title will also appear in the finished Work Order notification.

Page 50: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 49

Start Date: This is where you can enter the date and time for when you would like the Work

Order to start. The default is one hour from when it was created.

Status: The status of the Work Order.

Pilot, Copilot and Attendants: Here, you can select the crew for each of the legs.

💡 Tip: Freelancers are not available for Work Orders, only long-term hires.

Add a Leg: By using this button, you can add flight legs to this Work Order which will show up in

the Legs list below. Each leg in the list will display either a leg number (if no destination has yet

been set) or also the leg destination and leg status. If there are any issues that are preventing

this leg from being completed, a message in the leg box will inform you of the details. Clicking

on a leg will select it and allow you to edit its load in the job list in the middle of the page.

Move Up, Move Down and Delete Leg: You can change the execution order of the currently

selected leg or delete it by using one of these buttons.

Destination and Alternate: This is where you can enter the destination and alternate for each

leg.

Weights: The area under the Destination and Alternate input fields displays information

necessary for you to assign the correct amounts of load for each leg. If you assign more than the

aircraft can carry, a message in red will inform you of this.

💡 Tips:

You can create empty load legs. You may need to do this if a job’s load that you want to

include in a Work Order is not at the same location as the aircraft.

You can create a leg with an in-between destination to act as a refueling stop.

You can also add legs to a Work Order, even after it has been started. Just use the “Work

orders” button again on the My Aircraft page (you can also check the detailed status or

progress of each Work Order this way).

If a load needs to continue on through a multi-leg journey, remember to use the “Load?”

button on each leg, otherwise it will be left behind.

The aircraft will refuel automatically at each leg, if fuel is available at the airport. If you have

an FBO at the airport, your own fuel will be used. Otherwise, the least expensive fuel will be

used.

The main area, in the middle of this page, consists of a list of your pending jobs that you can load for

each of the selected legs. You can even load Logistic Query Jobs. The “Load?” checkbox will cause the

cargo or passengers to be loaded (you can split the load just like when you are preparing a single flight).

If the “Required?” checkbox is selected (on by default), the aircraft will wait for this particular cargo or

passengers to be available before continuing on. This can be helpful for loads that have time constraints

that may not be available for pick up when the aircraft is ready to move on to the next leg. If it is crucial

that the load is picked up, leave the “Required?” checkbox on and the aircraft will wait until the load is

available. Otherwise, you can leave it off and the aircraft will continue on its way without it, if the load is

not available when the aircraft is ready for departure.

7.4.1 Work Order Example Below, is an example of how to set up a small Work Order. Work Orders with many more legs, are of

course also possible.

First, here are the jobs that we will be using for this example. They are all small enough for a Cessna 172:

And here is a visual map of what each of our 5 Work Order legs will look like:

Page 52: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 51

Leg 1: For the first leg of this Work Order, we will send the aircraft from its starting position

(LFHR) to deliver the 324 lbs. of Equipment Pallets to LFHT. However, at LFHR, we will also load

the 96 lbs. of Chemicals that need to be delivered to LFHA, in leg 2.

Leg 2: In this leg, after having delivered the Equipment Pallets from leg 1, the aircraft will

continue on to LFHA to deliver the Chemicals.

Leg 3: When the Chemicals are delivered, the aircraft will pick up the Tourist here at LFHA who

needs to travel to LFLZ.

Leg 4: We don’t have anything to load at LFLZ once the Tourist has deboarded and our next load

is at LFLC. So, for this leg, we will fly empty to LFLC, where we will pick up our final load of 210

lbs. of Food Crates.

Leg 5: This is the final leg of our little Work Order. Upon arriving here at LFLC, the aircraft will

load the Food Crates and deliver them to LFLV, at which time this Work Order will be finished.

And here is what this Work Order looks like, once it has been set up and started (the aircraft will

automatically go through each leg, refueling along the way, without the need of any further input from

you. If there are any issues, the details will be shown in each of the leg boxes on the left side of the

page):

7.5 Aircraft Maintenance The Aircraft Maintenance page (only accessible for aircraft that you own) is where you can change seat

configuration and perform maintenance and repair services on your aircraft. You can access this page

from:

The Aircraft Details page ( ).

The Airport Details page where the aircraft is currently located, by clicking the airport ICAO

code link.

The My Aircraft page.

Seats Configuration: Here, you can change the number of seats on the aircraft in each of the

three classes. Please note that Business and First-Class seats take up more space, so you won’t

be able to have as many of them as Economy-Class seats. The benefit of having better class

seating is increased reputation gain at the end of a flight. If you don’t plan on transporting

passengers on this aircraft, you can remove seats by entering a negative value in the “Changes”

fields. Doing this will provide you with extra cargo capacity.

Maintenance: In this area, you can choose the type of maintenance or repair service that you

would like to have performed.

Page 54: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 53

Get a quotation: Once you have selected at least one service in one of the two areas on the left

side of the page, you will be able to use the “Get a Quotation” button and the costs associated

with the service you are requesting will be displayed. When ready, use the “Pay and start work”

button and your aircraft will be taken into the workshop and just like in the real world, become

unavailable for some time (see the table below for more details):

Base time to complete* Amount repaired or other effect

Seat configuration 30 min/seat More reputation gain for better seats after each flight and more cargo space if seats are removed

100-hour inspection 1 day 100-hour time is reset and engine/airframe repair is applied

Annual checkup** 3 days

Date is reset and airframe and engine condition are set randomly to between 97% and 100%

Airframe repair 1 day Condition is first set to 61% if it’s lower and then increased randomly another 2% - 10%

Engine repair 1 day/engine Same as for airframe above

Engine replacement** 1 day/engine Brand new engine(s) with zero hours and 100% condition are installed. SMOH is also reset.

Job Preparation 10 minutes Time needed to fill out paperwork, etc.

*The base time to complete is further modified by the skill of the mechanics used.

** Requires a Level 2 workshop.

❗ Notes: To perform any maintenance or repairs, the selected FBO must have a workshop that

matches your aircraft class (Single Engine Piston, Turboprop, Jet, etc.). In addition, if you need to

perform an annual checkup or have an engine replaced, the workshop must be Level 2. However, if

the above is not available, a maintenance truck can be called for an additional cost, which will be

displayed in the quotation. You can see the FBO sections of the Airports and FBOs chapter for more

details on how to determine what workshop services are available at each airport and FBO.

Wages: If you hire an employee for short-term work as a freelancer, this is the per-work-hour

wage that you will have to pay them while they are working as a freelancer for your company.

C: This column shows the number of aircraft type certifications that each potential employee

has. To see more details, use the “Evaluate” button in the next column.

Evaluate: You can use this button to show more details about each potential employee, before

you decide to hire them for your company.

8.1.1 Employee Skills Each employee has two different skills that affect their performance and the values of both skills are

always used to determine the employee’s salary. Each skill has a range of 0 - 5 and higher values are

always more beneficial. The colored skill bars can be hovered over to display a tooltip which shows the

exact value of the skill.

Pilots and Copilots

o Punctuality: Affects departure and arrival taxi times.

o Resistance under Stress: Affects airframe deterioration and chance of a broken engine

during flight, the company reputation change after each flight and the success chance of

landing in bad weather.

Flight Attendants

o Pax Care and Effectiveness: Both these skills affect the company reputation change after

each flight.

Mechanics

o Precision: Affects amount repaired.

o Effectiveness: Affects time needed for repairs and aircraft reconfiguration.

8.1.2 Employee Evaluation To see more details about a potential employee, you can use the “Evaluate” button on the Job Market

page.

This page will vary slightly, depending on whether the potential employee is a pilot, flight attendant or

mechanic.

The left side of the page displays personal information as well as the salaries and wages that must be

paid if you decide to hire this employee to work for your company. Here, you will also find details about

their skills and which aircraft they are certified to fly or work on.

The right side of the page contains the business aspect for this potential employee, in relation to hiring

them to work for your company. In the upper portion, you can sign a contract to hire them for your

company on a long-term basis. All you need to do is enter a valid airport ICAO code for where you would

like their home base to be, use the “Sign Contract” button and they will join your company.

💡 Tip: When an employee ends their daily work duty, they automatically sleep for 8 hours (unless

you have this turned off in the Global Settings). If this happens to be at their home base (or at an FBO

where you have available crew quarters), your company will not be charged for hotel fees. Mechanics

do not have work duty hours; they can work around the clock.

At the bottom right side of the page, you can hire this employee to work for your company as a

freelancer, for a maximum of three days. Select the number of days, enter a valid airport ICAO code and

they will join your company on a short-term basis.

💡 Tip: Here are a few examples of when you may want to use freelance employees instead of long-

term hires:

Page 58: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 57

When your regular crews are resting or are otherwise unavailable and you need to have a job

delivered as soon as possible.

If you mainly fly cargo but have accepted a passenger delivery job which requires flight

attendant(s) and you don’t want to hire long-term employees for just one delivery.

If you need a copilot for just one flight.

If you would like to transport yourself to another location but don’t have the time to fly in

your simulator (and when public transportation would take too long), you can hire a

freelancer to fly you as a passenger to where you want to go.

Keep in mind that freelancers will usually cost you a bit more per hour/day than long-term hires,

but they are great for impromptu jobs and they do not require severance pay when they stop

working for your company.

8.2 My Employees This page, accessible from the “My Company” menu, lists every employee that is currently working for

your company. This includes both long-term hires and freelancers.

Just like on the Job Market page (where you can hire new employees), this page divides the list into tabs

for pilots, flight attendants and mechanics. The list includes employee portraits and names (your own

name is displayed in bold) as well as other important information:

Status: In this column, you can see what the employee is currently doing, as described below:

(The status icons can be hovered over to see more details.)

o - The employee is on a 14-hour work duty cycle but is not currently busy. They are

awaiting your orders. If they receive no orders, they will enter the 8-hour sleep state

after their duty cycle is over.

o - The employee is rested and idling but has not started a 14-hour work duty cycle.

As soon as you give them an order, their work duty cycle will begin. If they receive no

Page 59: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 58

orders, they will remain in the idle state indefinitely if they are a long-term hire or they

will leave your company at the end of their contract if they are a freelancer.

o - (Does not apply to mechanics) The employee is a crew member on an active flight.

o - When accelerated time during a simulator flight is used, you and any other crew

on board will be ”in warp” and unavailable to fly again until the actual time passes when

the flight should have been completed. This warp delay can be disabled in the Global

Settings if you are not playing on Survival Mode by using the ”Don’t force time in sim”

option.

o - The employee is traveling to a new location; either by public transportation or as a

passenger on a company aircraft.

o - The employee is being relocated to a new home base. Your company won’t be

charged hotel fees when employees rest at their home base (or at one of your FBOs

where you have available crew quarters).

o - The employee is undergoing training. This could be either skill training or aircraft

type certification.

o - The employee is resting, either after their 14-hour work duty cycle or when asked

to do so by their CEO (you!).

Until: Some employee states have an end date and time and it can be seen in this column.

Position: This is the employee’s current location which could either be an airport or the

registration number of the aircraft on which they are working as an active crew member. In

either case, the location is a link and can be hovered over to see a short airport name or clicked

to access either the Airport Details or Aircraft Details page.

Freelance end: For freelance employees, this column shows the date and time when their

contract expires.

Flight Hours: (Does not apply to mechanics) This shows the number of total flight hours + the

number of hours that this employee has flown while working for your company.

The remaining informational columns contain the same details as described in the Job Market

section, earlier in this chapter.

The final column contains the “Manage” button which loads the Employee Management page

described next.

8.2.1 Employee Management This page displays details about a specific employee and also allows you to manage them, if they are not

currently busy. You can access this page from:

The My Employees page described above, by using the “Manage” button.

The Live Map, by clicking on an employee’s portrait icon.

The Airport Details page where the employee is currently located, by using the “Manage”

button.

Page 60: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 59

This page will differ slightly, depending on whether the employee is a pilot, flight attendant or mechanic.

In the upper area, you will see personal information about the employee and how much you are paying

them. The icon in the upper right indicates whether this employee is a pilot, flight attendant or

mechanic.

In the bottom area, are additional details about this employee including their current status, location,

work duty hours and which aircraft classes they are certified to fly or work on.

Under the portrait are action buttons that allow you to manage the employee. These buttons will only

be available if the employee is not busy. The only possible actions for freelancers are “Transport” and

“Rest Now”.

Relocate: Ask the employee to move to a new home base. Your company will not be charged

hotel fees when employees rest at their home base (or at one of your FBOs where you have

available crew quarters).

💡 Tip: Plan ahead if you want to use this option because employee relocation takes 2 days

plus transportation time to complete because it involves moving their entire home base to a

new location.

Page 61: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 60

Transport: Ask the employee to travel to a new location by public transportation. The time

needed to complete this depends on the distance.

Rest Now: Employees in OnAir need rest, just like in the real world (this does not apply to

mechanics). An employee’s work duty ends 14 hours after their first assignment of the day.

During these 14 hours, they can fly a maximum of 9 hours. At the end of their duty, they need to

sleep for 8 hours which they will automatically do, as long as they are not in the middle of an

assignment. However, if you would like them to be ready for a new duty cycle sooner, you can

use this button and ask them to rest now.

❗ Note: If an employee exceeds their duty hours, your company will be charged a fee of 500cr

each time. If you are not playing on Survival Mode, you can turn off employees’ automatic

rest in the Global Settings by using the “Disable employees rest” option, but the overtime

penalty will still apply.

Training: This opens up the Employee Training page, described in the next section.

Fire: If you no longer need this employee in your company, you can fire them. When you use this

button, a new page will load showing you how much regular pay and severance pay you will owe

them before they leave your company and return to the global Job Market. You can then accept

or decline.

Page 62: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 61

8.2.2 Employee Training This page, accessible from the Employee Management page described above, is where you can ask a

long-term hire employee to undergo training. This page is not available for freelancers.

At the top, you can use the drop-down box to select an aircraft class that you would like the employee

to train for. Each class type qualification training takes 2 days. Once selected, use the “Start training”

button just under the drop-down box.

At the bottom, you can ask your employee to attend training to enhance their skills. The skills shown will

differ based on whether the employee is a pilot, flight attendant or mechanic. Each skill is described in

detail in the Job Market section, earlier in this chapter. When ready to send them off to school to train

skills, use the “Start Skills training” button at the bottom of the page.

💡 Tip: There are skills in the Company Skill Tree which increase the amount of skill gain with each

training session and decrease the amount of time needed to complete each training session.

9. Flights In this chapter, you will learn all you need to know about preparing, conducting and tracking your flights

within the OnAir World.

9.1 Flight Preparation Before you or your AI pilots can take to the skies, you will need to visit two Flight Preparation pages

before each flight. You can access the first page by using this button: . It will only be available if the

aircraft is not busy. The button can be found:

On the Live Map, on each aircraft’s tile.

On the My Aircraft page, in the “Manage” column.

On the Airport Details page where the aircraft is located, in the “My Aircraft” area on the right

side of the page.

First (initial) Flight Preparation page.

The first Flight Preparation page (shown in the picture above), allows you to refuel and load your

aircraft. The blue header displays the aircraft type and its registration number and its current

location, followed by a short airport name. It also shows the current UTC time and date.

1. Fuel Levels: If this airport sells the type of fuel needed for your aircraft (either 100LL or Jet), you

will see a list of all of your aircraft’s fuel tanks here. You can either use the “ALL” slider and

OnAir will evenly distribute the fuel among each fuel tank or you can fill them individually to the

desired levels.

Page 64: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 63

💡 Tips:

o If you are going to fly yourself in your simulator, you can redistribute the fuel on your

aircraft after flight tracking has started, as long as the total fuel does not exceed the

amount you have chosen here at any time.

o You can click on the blue slider handles and use the arrow keys on your keyboard for

more precise control.

o You can remove fuel from any fuel tank but if you remove more than the initial

amount, the fuel will be disposed of and you will not be reimbursed for it.

o Not every airport has 100LL fuel and even fewer have Jet fuel. If one of your aircraft is

out of fuel at an airport that does not sell the fuel you need, you can purchase one or

more portable fuel cans (5.3 gallons each) from the Airport Details page of any airport

that does sell it. These can then be transported as regular cargo to where your

stranded (out of fuel) aircraft is. If you have transported any fuel cans (with the

correct fuel type) to this airport, you can use the blue “Refuel using Fuel Container”

button to refuel your aircraft.

o There is a skill in the Company Skill Tree that decreases the amount of fuel used by

your AI pilots.

2. Fuel Data: If this airport sells the type of fuel needed for your aircraft (either 100LL or Jet), this

area will contain a “Select FBO” drop-down box which lists every system and player owned FBO

that sells the type of fuel that your aircraft needs and the price per gallon at each one. It will

also show details about your currently proposed fuel purchase. If your needed fuel is not

available here, you will only see details about your current fuel on board in gallons and pounds,

your useful load and the estimated range of your aircraft with the current amount of fuel on

board.

💡 Tips:

o Always check the “Select FBO” drop-down box to find the FBO with the best fuel price

before you confirm your fuel and payload.

o Remember to load extra fuel for every flight. In addition to what is needed for the

planned flight, you will need reserve fuel for a flight from your destination to the

alternate and for an additional 30 minutes of cruise flight to be able to start a flight.

However, if you are preparing a flight that you will fly yourself in your simulator and

OnAir is advising you that you don’t have enough fuel for the trip but you are sure that

you do, you can input a closer destination and/or alternate but still fly to your original

desired destination. OnAir will register your flight based on where you land, not on

what you input when preparing a flight.

3. Payloads: If you have any cargo or passengers available for pickup at this airport, this is where

you can load them onto your aircraft. Each load shows:

o Its destination, including the distance from this airport and a magnetic heading

o A description of the load

o A checkbox and slider with which you can load/unload the cargo or passengers onto

your aircraft

💡 Tips:

▪ You can split loads of cargo and passengers and fly them in multiple trips or

even with multiple aircraft by yourself or with the help of AI pilots.

Page 65: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 64

▪ A small clock icon ( ) next to one of the checkboxes for any cargo or

passengers, indicates that this particular load may not yet be available for

pickup. If that is the case, the checkbox will be disabled. Details on jobs with

time constraints can be found in the Job Search Results section of the Jobs

chapter.

▪ Below the cargo and passenger loading area is a spinner where you can

reserve seats for company employees (including yourself). This is very helpful

if you want to transport employees or yourself quickly to another location or

perhaps to have an extra duty crew on board. Choosing which company

employees to board is done on the second (final) Flight Preparation page,

described later in this section.

4. Weight: This area shows the weight of what is currently loaded onto this aircraft.

o The crew weight includes every crew member that is needed to conduct this flight as

well as any seats reserved for other employees that you have chosen to fly on board.

For small GA aircraft, this could be as little as 190 lbs. for just the pilot. For flights that

require a copilot and flight attendants, it will be much higher.

o The Total Payload consists of all fuel, crew, cargo and passengers on board.

o The Useful Load is the aircraft’s maximum gross weight minus its empty weight and all

fuel on board.

5. Balance: If you want to let OnAir take care of the balance, it will try to arrange your load

correctly among all the load stations on your aircraft automatically whenever you load/unload

any cargo or passengers. However, if you would like more control, especially for more complex

aircraft, you can choose how much weight to load in each station manually in this area. The only

requirement is that you assign at least your Due weight.

💡 Tips:

o If you are going to fly yourself in your simulator, you can rearrange the load on your

aircraft after flight tracking has started, as long as the total weight of the load is at

least as much as your Due weight at all times.

o If for any reason the Assigned weight here is showing less than the Due weight, a blue

“Auto” button (not shown in the picture above) will become available in the Balance

header. Using this button will cause OnAir to automatically try to arrange your load

correctly among all the load stations on your aircraft and make sure that your

Assigned weight matches your Due weight.

6. Confirm Fuel and Payload and Confirm and Go Fly Now: These two buttons below the Payloads

area, will only be blue and enabled when your Assigned weight is at least as high as your Due

weight. Using either one of these buttons will send your order to the airport’s apron agents,

who will take care of the loading/unloading of fuel, cargo and passengers.

o When you use the “Confirm Fuel and Payload” button on the left, your aircraft will be

loaded or unloaded and you will be taken to the Live Map page where you will have to

wait for the apron work to finish before you can use the aircraft again.

o When you use the “Confirm and Go Fly Now” button on the right, your aircraft will start

the loading or unloading process and you will also be taken to the second (final) Flight

Preparation page where you can finalize your flight’s departure, as described next.

Page 66: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 65

Second (final) Flight Preparation page.

You can access the second and final Flight Preparation page in the following ways:

By using the “Confirm and Go Fly Now” button described above.

If the aircraft is in the middle of apron work (refueling or loading/unloading), by using the

Fly ( ) button found on the Live Map, on the My Aircraft page and on the Airport Details page

where the aircraft is located

1. Fuel, Passengers and Payload Management: This area displays the progress of refueling as well

as loading/unloading of all cargo and passengers. Once all three areas display a green “OK”

status, as is the case with the cargo in the picture above, the aircraft is ready.

💡 Tip: There are skills in the Company Skill Tree that reduce the refueling and cargo and

passenger loading/unloading times.

2. Select the intended destination: This is where you can enter a valid airport ICAO code as your

intended destination. When a valid airport code has been entered, OnAir will automatically

choose an alternate destination airport. You can override this and enter a different alternate, if

you wish.

💡 Tips:

o If you are going to fly yourself in your simulator, you don’t need to fly to the selected

alternate in case of bad weather - it's just there as a suggestion and it will also be

displayed on the Flight Tracking page. OnAir will register your flight wherever you end

up landing, even if it’s not at the destination or alternate airports. However, if this will

be an AI flight and landing at the original destination is not successful because of bad

weather, the AI pilot(s) will attempt to land at the alternate airport. If that is also not

successful, they will look for the nearest airport with good conditions. More details on

weather within the OnAir World can be found in the Weather section, later in this

chapter.

Page 67: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 66

o After entering the ICAO code for your flight’s destination, double check that it’s the

correct airport by hovering over the ICAO code of your job’s actual destination to see

if the airport names match. This way you won’t end up flying to the wrong location.

3. Select the Crew...: This is where you can select any additional crew that may be needed for the

flight. If you reserved seats for company employees for this flight on the initial Flight Preparation

page, you can select which employees should board the aircraft as passengers from the box on

the right. You can even board the aircraft yourself. Keep in mind that only employees who are

not part of the active crew can be passengers.

💡 Tip: You will need one flight attendant whenever you are carrying more than 12 passengers

and one more for each additional 50 passengers.

4. Start the flight: Once everything is set up, you can start the flight!

o If you are going to fly yourself in your simulator, use the “Start Flight Tracking” button

on the left which will load the Flight Tracking Preparation page, described in detail later

in this chapter.

o If this is a flight that will be conducted by one of your AI pilots, select a pilot from the

drop-down box and then use the “Launch Flight when Ready” button on the right which

will start the flight. You will then be taken to the Live Map where you can view the

flight’s progress.

❗ Notes: There are several reasons why you might not be able to assign crew or start a

flight, either for yourself in your simulator or an AI flight:

▪ A crew member is either not at the airport or is otherwise busy (sleeping,

training, being transported or relocated). You will see notes on the final Flight

Preparation page that indicate the reasons, either in red text or by hovering

over an employee’s name. You can also check the My Employees page for

details.

▪ Some jobs require you, the company CEO to fly them personally. These jobs

show a little blue joystick icon ( ) in their details on the Pending Jobs page. If

you have any cargo or passengers on board that require you to fly them

personally, you will see a message to that effect in area #4 and you won’t be

able to have this flight conducted by an AI pilot.

▪ In order to start any flight, all secondary crew must be assigned first before

you can either fly yourself or select an AI pilot for the flight.

▪ An AI flight can be queued up with the “Launch Flight when Ready” button,

even while the aircraft is still being loaded but you won’t be able to start a

flight yourself in your simulator until the aircraft is completely loaded.

▪ You won’t be able to start any flight if you reserved seats for company

employees but have not selected them in area #3.

5. This area shows details about the cargo and passengers for all jobs that are currently loaded

onto the aircraft. The “From” and “To” locations are links and can be hovered over to display a

tooltip with a short airport name and size or clicked to load the Airport Details page. The

colored “Due” dots can also be hovered over to see exactly how much time you have to deliver

the job before it expires.

Page 68: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 67

9.2 Flight Tracking Preparation Once you have prepared a flight that you will be flying in your simulator and used the “Start Flight

Tracking” button, as described in the previous section, you will be taken to the Flight Tracking

Preparation page.

This is the final page before OnAir starts tracking your flight and you can take to the skies. The blue

header contains the type of aircraft for this flight and its registration number as well as the current UTC

date and time.

1. Flight Plan: You can fly any route you wish and even land at an airport other than your

destination or alternate. OnAir will register your flight no matter where you land, without any

penalties. Of course, you must still take off in your simulator from the correct departure airport

and if you have any jobs that need to be delivered to your filed destination and you don’t

actually land there, you will eventually have to create another flight to complete the job(s).

2. Tracking Conditions: This area is very important because unless you see only green checks here,

OnAir will not be able to track your flight.

❗ Note: Your simulator must be running and you must be in the correct aircraft and also at

preferably the correct departure airport. If you do not see a green connection light above the

Flight Tracking page, you may need to install either the free version of FSUIPC or the included

X-Plane connector, as described in the Simulator Connection Indicator section of the Your

Company Dashboard chapter.

o Date: The date and time (in UTC) that you need to set within your simulator is shown

here. By using the “Autoset” option, OnAir will automatically set the date and time in

your simulator once flight tracking starts. Keep in mind that this could cause your

simulator to reload the scenery as it changes the date and time, which is normal

behavior. You can hover over the listed date and time for more details.

❗ Note: Do not change the date or time in your simulator after OnAir starts tracking

your flight, as this can cause tracking issues which may not become evident until the

Page 69: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 68

end of your flight. This includes using “Track real-world date & time”, “GMT Offset”

and the option to increase Ground Speed in X-Plane. OnAir does not support any

feature or addon that changes date and time during flight.

💡 Tips:

▪ If you are not playing in Survival Mode, you can prevent OnAir from forcing

you to fly at a specific date and time by checking the “Don’t Force time in sim”

button in the Global Settings.

▪ If you are in Survival Mode, you can still fly at a preferred time by using the

“Company UTC offset”, also in the Global Settings.

▪ You can use accelerated time during your flight but keep in mind that if you

do, you and any crew on board and the aircraft itself will be “in warp” and

unavailable until the actual time passes when the flight should have been

completed. This warp delay can be disabled by using the “Don’t Force time in

sim” option in the Global Settings but only if you are not playing in Survival

Mode.

o Fuel: The total fuel that you need to load onto your aircraft is shown here. You can load

and distribute fuel among your aircraft’s tanks in your simulator as you like but if your

total fuel amount is at any time greater than the Due amount, OnAir will not be able to

track your flight. By using the “Autoset” option, OnAir will automatically load fuel into

your aircraft’s tanks once flight tracking starts, according to the amounts on the initial

Flight Preparation page, described in the previous section of this chapter.

💡 Tip: Do not park or stop near a fuel pump in your simulator (at least not in FSX or

P3D) after flight tracking has started as it will likely interfere with your required fuel

levels, causing the tracking to abort.

o Total Payload: This shows how much total payload weight you must load onto your

aircraft. You can distribute the weight among your aircraft’s load stations in your

simulator as you like but if the total payload is at any time less than the Due amount,

OnAir will not be able to track your flight. By using the “Autoset” option, OnAir will

automatically load your aircraft with the required weight once flight tracking starts,

according to the amounts in the “Balance” section of the initial Flight Preparation page,

described in the previous section of this chapter.

o Model: This shows the aircraft that is currently loaded in your simulator followed by the

aircraft that OnAir expects. If these do not match exactly, OnAir will not be able to track

your flight.

💡 Tip: The best way to make sure that you rent or buy the correct aircraft that you

want to fly in your simulator, is to first load it up in your simulator at any airport and

then use the blue “Search for the aircraft I have loaded in my Sim” button, when

searching the Aircraft Market.

o Slew mode: Slew mode is not supported by OnAir and tracking will be aborted if it is

used.

o Location: In order for OnAir to track your flight, you must be positioned at the correct

departure airport and on the ground. If you would like OnAir to move the aircraft for

you, you can use the “Position Aircraft in Simulator” button and OnAir will place you at

Page 70: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 69

the correct airport. You may still have to adjust your position if you want to start from a

specific location of the airport.

o Just below the Tracking Conditions area, you will find two buttons:

▪ The “Start Tracking” button will only be blue and enabled when all tracking

conditions have been met. When this button is used, OnAir will start tracking

your flight which is described in the next section of this chapter.

▪ The “Abort Flight” button cancels the flight tracking preparations and takes you

to the Live Map page. There are no penalties for aborting a flight, but you will

have to start again.

3. Aircraft manifest and crew: This area shows details about all the cargo, passengers and crew on

board the aircraft. The “From” and “To” locations are links and can be hovered over to display a

tooltip with a short airport name and size or clicked to load the Airport Details page. The

colored “Due” dots can also be hovered over to see exactly how much time you have to deliver

the job before it expires.

4. Map: The map on the Flight Tracking Preparation page has features similar to those found on

the Jobs Map, with a few exceptions:

o No jobs are shown on this map.

o The only airports shown are the ones related to this flight.

o The only aircraft icon shown is for the aircraft being tracked.

o There is an arrow around the aircraft icon, pointing in the direction of the destination.

o There are checkboxes at the top of the map that allow you to see METARs and follow

the position of your aircraft during flight.

o There is a display of the departing airport’s details, including current weather (if

available), at the bottom center of the map.

❗ Note: The requirement for loading the correct “Due” weight and fuel has been disabled for the

currently available play modes (including Survival). If you want to use one of the aircraft addons

which is not correctly sending fuel and weight data to OnAir, you will still be able to start Flight

Tracking, even if your addon does not allow you to set the correct values. In the upcoming second

OnAir World which will only have a new and improved Survival Mode, only aircraft that are known

not to have any weight or fuel issues will be available. You will not be able to bypass the weight and

fuel requirement on the new Survival only World.

9.3 Flight Tracking Once OnAir starts tracking your flight, you will see the following page:

You can see that your flight is being tracked because the background in area #2 has changed to a darker

color.

1. This shows the same information as on the Flight Tracking Preparation page, described in the

previous section.

2. This area shows your tracking session duration, the amount of fuel currently on board your

aircraft and the last advisory message given by OnAir which is also given verbally. Flight time for

the purpose of calculating aircraft wear and rental costs is only counted when your simulator is

un-paused so you can freely pause your flight and come back later. If you wish to abort your

flight, you can do this here and your aircraft, any crew, cargo and passengers on board will be

returned to the departure location in the OnAir World without any penalties.

3. This shows the same information as on the Flight Tracking Preparation page, described in the

previous section.

4. The map here shows the same information as can be found on the Flight Tracking Preparation

page, with a few exceptions:

o At the bottom left of the map are two buttons; one for the Destination and one for the

Alternate airports. Using one of these buttons will cause the box at the bottom center of

the map to display details about that particular airport, including current weather (if

available).

o The arrow around the aircraft icon will point in the direction of either the Destination or

Alternate airports, depending on which button is used.

o Details about the aircraft’s current flight characteristics are displayed in the upper right

corner of the map.

Page 72: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 71

💡 Tip: You can take care of other business in your company, even while you’re flying and tracking in

your simulator. Just do what you need to do; rent or buy aircraft, look for jobs, hire employees and

assign jobs for them to fly and when you’re done, resume your Flight Tracking by using the Resume

Flight ( ) button. You can find this button on the Live Map and on the My Aircraft page. There is no

need to pause your flight while you are doing other things in OnAir as it will correctly resume tracking

at your current location in the simulator.

Once you successfully land at an airport and shut down your engines, you will see the following page:

This page indicates that your flight was successfully

registered in OnAir. Details about your flight are

shown on this page, including the exact times of

your flight, the crew that was on board, the change

to your company’s reputation and the aircraft’s

condition based on this flight, the XP gained (the

smaller the landing airport, the more XP you will get

with a maximum of a 10% bonus for landing at a size

0 airport), and the details about any jobs that were

completed. Cargo and passengers take time to

unload/deboard so your aircraft may still be busy in

”apron work” until this is completed. Once you are

done looking at the information here, you can use

the ”OK” button to be taken to the Live Map page.

Page 73: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

9.4 Resuming a Flight As mentioned in other areas of this document, OnAir supports resuming of a flight in your simulator.

Below is some information on why you may need to resume a flight and how to go about it:

❗ Note: You have a maximum of two days to resume a flight after the connection is lost with your

simulator. After two days, the flight will be automatically aborted and the aircraft, its crew and any

cargo or passengers on board will be reset to the departure location.

Your simulator crashed

o If this happens, OnAir will remember your last known position before it lost connection

with your simulator. To resume your flight, restart your simulator and load the aircraft

at an airport somewhere close to where the crash occurred (with the correct amount of

fuel and payload shown on the Tracking Page and preferably at the correct date/time, if

applicable) and then use the Resume Flight ( ) button found on the Live Map or on the

My Aircraft page. You then have one or two options before you can start tracking again,

depending on which simulator you are using:

1. (This option is available in all supported simulators)

Take off and make your way to the location of the solid aircraft icon that is

shown on the Tracking Page Map. In contrast, your current location is indicated

by a “ghost” aircraft icon. You will need to be within 4 NM and 1,000 ft in

elevation of your last known position (the solid aircraft icon). Once you are close

enough where the Start Tracking button becomes available, pause your

simulator and use the Start Tracking button to continue your flight in OnAir. You

can then un-pause your simulator and continue flying.

2. (This option is not available in X-Plane as positioning an aircraft this way from

outside the simulator has caused some issues. Also, please keep in mind that

positioning your aircraft in the following manner may cause issues with some

complex aircraft addons)

Use the button on the Tracking Page. This will move your

aircraft in your simulator to the last know position in OnAir. Depending on

where your crash occurred, you may suddenly be in the air so make sure to

either set your aircraft up correctly first or be ready to do so immediately after

the re-positioning so that you don’t have critical issues after you are moved. As

an alternate method, you can take off and climb to and level off at the

approximate altitude required before you use the Position Aircraft in Simulator

button which should make the transition smoother.

Server maintenance or internet outage

o During OnAir server maintenance or if you experience an internet outage, you can still

finish your flight, as long as you keep OnAir running. At the end of the flight, you will not

be able to register it immediately. If there was also a client update, a message window

will inform you of this and you will need to restart the client to get the update and to

resume your flight. You can then use the Resume Flight ( ) button which will take you

directly to the "Register Flight" page.

💡 Tip: If you are ever uncertain about being able to resume your flight when something

unexpected happens (besides your simulator crashing), pause your flight in the simulator, find and

Page 74: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 73

use the Resume Flight ( ) button and check the tracking conditions to see if all the checkmarks

are green. If they are not, you will at least have an idea of what needs attention and can try to

remedy it. If you’re not able to remedy it, you can always contact us via the forums or on Discord.

9.5 Checkrides When you start a company within the OnAir World, you, as the company CEO, only have the basic Single

Engine Piston Land (SEPL) certification. If you would like to fly other types of aircraft, you will need to

become certified and to do that, you need to take and pass a checkride. If you have any aircraft in your

fleet (either rented or owned) for which you do not have a certificate, you will see the checkride button

( ). You can find this button on the Live Map and on the My Aircraft page. When this button is used,

OnAir will load the Flight Tracking Preparation page. Once all necessary conditions are met, the ”Start

Checkride” button will become available and when used, the checkride will begin. You will be given

instructions (both on the Flight Tracking page and verbally) for every step of the way. Once you

successfully complete your checkride, you will be awarded a certificate for that aircraft class, which is

valid for one year.

💡 Tips:

Certificates in OnAir are for classes of aircraft and not for individual aircraft. Once you are

certified in a class, you can fly any other aircraft in the same category. The categories are:

o Gliders (GLD)

o Ultra-Light (ULM)

o Single Engine Piston Land (SEPL)

o Single Engine Piston Sea (SEPS)

o Multi-Engine Piston Land (MEPL)

o Multi-Engine Piston Sea (MEPS)

o Single Engine Turboprop Land (SETL)

o Single Engine Turboprop Sea (SETS)

o Multi-Engine Turboprop Land (METL)

o Multi-Engine Turboprop Sea (METS)

o Helicopter (HELO)

o Jet (JET)

o Heavy Jet (HEAVYJET)

To start a checkride:

o Just like for any other flight, you must be at the same airport as the aircraft that you

are going to fly in.

o You must unload any cargo or passengers from the aircraft.

o The aircraft must have at least 20% of fuel on board (you will be notified if that is not

the case and given the option to automatically purchase enough fuel, if available). If

fuel is not available for purchase, you can buy one or more 5.3-gallon fuel cans at

another airport (from the Airport Details page) and transport them over as regular

cargo, using another aircraft.

o All other Tracking Conditions as described in the Flight Tracking Preparation section

earlier in this chapter must also be met.

o No copilot is needed as the instructor will fulfill that role.

Page 75: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 74

If you are not playing on Survival Mode, you can change the number of possible exercises that

you will be asked to complete during a checkride by using the “Checkride difficulty” option in

the Global Settings. The number of exercises will still always be random but lower settings

decrease the maximum possible number. This setting also impacts the required speed of slow

turn exercises, with more realistic settings requiring slower speeds.

If the aircraft that you want to fly for your checkride is in a mountainous area, the checkride

may be difficult to complete. If you want to avoid this, you can do the checkride in another

aircraft of the same class and at another location (for example: a Constellation has the same

class as a much smaller Piper Navajo of the same class) or you can have one of your AI pilots

fly the aircraft for you to an airport with a more suitable checkride location (as long as they

are certified to fly it, of course).

During the checkride, you will be asked to perform a variety of different possible exercises

ranging from climbs and turns to slow (almost stall speed) flight so be ready and refreshed

before you start. At the end, you will always be asked to return to your starting airport.

At this time, autopilot is allowed during checkrides.

Aircraft class certificates do not carry over if you start a new company and they must be

renewed once a year.

Class certification for your employees is done via the Employee Management page.

9.5 My Flight Logs You can view records of every flight made within your company during the past 30 days. To access this

page, use the “My Company” menu and select “My Flight Logs”.

Each flight listed on this page contains details about when and where it took place, which aircraft was

used, the aircraft’s flight performance, the amount of XP gained (for non-AI flights), a “Logs” button that

opens up a small window with more details about this particular flight and a record of whether the flight

was cancelled and if so, for what reason.

Page 76: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 75

If you have a flight in progress but have left the Flight Tracking page, a “Resume” button will be

available for this flight in the Actions column.

Each row can be expanded with the “+” button in the first column to show the crew that participated in

this flight as well as the change in the aircraft’s condition and in the company’s reputation.

The blue aircraft registration and from/to airport ICAO codes are links and can be clicked to open the

Aircraft Details and Airport Details pages.

A record of flights limited to a particular aircraft can be viewed on this page by using the “Flights” button

found on the My Aircraft and Aircraft Details pages.

And as with other tables in the application, you can sort the list by clicking on some of the column titles

and you can filter the list by using the little “filter” button found in some of the column headers.

9.6 Weather Weather plays an important role in the OnAir World. Currently, it only affects flights performed by your

AI pilots.

A screenshot of METAR stations displayed on the Live Map.

METARs, or Meteorological Terminal Air Reports, are updated once an hour within the OnAir World and

contain the same information as in the real world. Landings performed by your AI pilots are subject to

current real weather conditions. It’s important to check METAR information on the Live Map for your AI

flight destinations, especially when jobs that expire soon are involved. AI pilots may attempt to land in

bad weather (success depends on how bad the conditions are and on the pilot’s stress resistance skill)

but if not able, they will divert to the filed alternate airport. If landing there is also not successful, they

Page 77: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 76

will find the closest airport with good conditions. Below are the weather conditions for the color-coded

METAR icons on the Live Map:

Green: visibility > 5SM and cloud base > 3000ft

Yellow: visibility between 3SM and 5SM or cloud base between 1000ft and 3000ft

Red: visibility between 1SM and 3SM or cloud base between 500ft and 1000ft (base chance of AI

pilot diversion: 15%)

Purple: visibility < 1SM or cloud base < 500ft (base chance of AI pilot diversion: 60%)

Gray: used if the METAR does not report visibility or cloud base

💡 Tip: You can re-send your AI flights to airports where they were not successful at landing as

many times as you like. There is always a chance that the next landing will be successful. But for

time critical jobs, you may want to fly yourself or at least make sure that the pilot has the highest

possible punctuality and stress resistance skills (up to a 15% reduction in diversion chance with

both skills at level 5).

❗ Note: Only size 4 and 5 airports in OnAir provide METAR information. When determining the

weather conditions for landing, the closest METAR is used.

Page 78: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 77

10. Live Map The Live Map displays an overview of all your company’s current Live Operations.

Here, you will find a list of all the aircraft in your fleet, both rented and owned and a map that displays

the location of each one, as well as the location of all your company employees. If you have rented out

any of your aircraft to other players, those will also be shown on the map.

The blue header displays the current UTC date and time and just below it, are filters to help you narrow

down which of your company aircraft are displayed, both in the list and on the map.

Each aircraft “tile” shows details about its current state and condition as well as any action buttons that

are applicable to its current state. The possible action buttons that you may see here are described

below:

Prepare the next flight (only available if the aircraft is not busy) - loads the initial Flight

Preparation page where you can load fuel, cargo and passengers.

Fly (only available if the aircraft is in the middle of refueling or loading/unloading) - loads the

second and final Flight Preparation page where you can finalize your flight’s departure.

Resume Flight (same icon as ”Fly” and only available if you have already started tracking the

flight but have left the Flight Tracking page) - loads the current Flight Tracking page for this

flight.

Take a checkride (only available if you are not yet certified to fly this type of aircraft and if it

is not busy) - loads the Flight Tracking Preparation page, allowing you to start a certification

checkride using this aircraft from its current location. More details on checkrides can be found in

the Checkrides section of the Flights chapter.

Page 79: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 78

Find jobs at the current airport (only available if this aircraft is not in flight) - loads the

Logistic Center and starts a search for jobs around the aircraft’s current airport.

Aircraft details - loads the Aircraft Details page.

The aircraft icons on the “tiles” and on the map as well as their status icons are the same as on the Jobs

Map, and are described in detail in that part of this document. Clicking on any aircraft “tile” will cause

the map to center on the aircraft’s location.

The map here has features similar to those found on the Jobs Map, with the addition of more company

data display options which are found in the upper left corner of the map and a visual list of all your

company employees to the right side of the map.

11. Airports and FBOs

This chapter covers everything you need to know about airports and FBOs within the OnAir World. You

will learn how to display Airport Details, search for FBOs and how to start and manage your own FBOs.

11.1 Airport Details Details about every airport within the OnAir World can be displayed by clicking on most airport ICAO

codes found on many pages in the application. The Airport database can also be accessed by using the

“World” menu and selecting “Airports”.

1. At the top of the page, you can enter another valid airport ICAO code and by using the “Display”

button, details about that airport will be shown. If you do not know the ICAO code, you can use

the “plus” button and search for the airport by its name. To the right of the “Display” button is

the “find jobs at this airport” button ( ) which loads the Logistic Center and starts a search for

jobs around this airport. The ”Display Events” button opens a small window which shows a

record of all events involving this airport. There are also buttons that open up a browser page

with details on this airport from SkyVector and AirNav.

2. This area shows information about the airport that is important for you to know when planning

flights into or out of this airport. Of particular interest are the operating hours. Each airport

within the OnAir World has regular operating hours and landing at an airport when it is closed

will incur a 200cr penalty. You can change the period of operating hours by using the “Company

UTC offset” in the Global Settings. If you don’t want to be concerned with the landing penalties

at all, you can turn them off in the Global Settings by using the “Disable Landing Penalties”

option but this is only possible if you are not playing in Survival Mode. Below the operating

hours, you will find icons that show the types of landing areas which are available at this airport.

And to the right, is a list of all runways and the landing fees for each class of aircraft.

Page 81: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 80

💡 Tips:

o Owning an FBO at any airport reduces your landing fees there by 70%.

o You can hover over the “i” icon after the operating hours to see details about how

these hours are calculated.

3. The map on this page has features similar to the other maps found in the application and can be

zoomed or panned.

4. This area displays all system and player owned FBOs at this airport and what services each one

provides. You can hover over each of the service icons to display a tooltip with details. A

complete description of each possible service is provided in the next section (FBO Search). If you

own any of the FBOs here, their names will be displayed in blue and can be clicked to open the

FBO Management page, described in detail later in this chapter. The “Find in the Vicinity”

button opens the FBO Search page. If your company does not have an FBO at this airport, a

“Create an FBO” button will also be available here (not shown in the picture above). You can

also purchase portable (5.3-gallon) fuel cans here (if available) and transport them as regular

cargo to another airport where one of your aircraft is stranded/out of fuel.

5. This area displays all of your company employees, aircraft, cargo and passengers located at this

airport. Other player’s aircraft will be visible here in a future update. Any actions that can be

performed on your employees and aircraft located here, will show a corresponding button.

11.2 FBO Search If you are looking for FBOs around a specific area, you can use the “World” menu and select “FBOs” to

load the FBO Search page. This page can also be accessed by using the “Find in the Vicinity” button on

any Airport Details page.

At the top of the page is a search bar where you can enter a valid airport ICAO code (if you don’t know

the ICAO code, you can use the “plus” button to search for the airport by name), enter a max range for

Page 82: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 81

your search (0 to 500 NM) and use the “Query Database” button to execute the search. Each column in

the search results list is described below:

ICAO: The airport ICAO code for this FBO which is also a link that can be clicked to access the

Airport Details page.

Airport: The name of the airport where this FBO is located.

Size: The size of the airport where this FBO is located, which is determined by the length of the

airport’s longest runway.

Is mine: If this FBO is owned by your company, it will be indicated in this column by an orange

dot ( ).

FBO: The name of the FBO. All system FBOs have names that start with the name of the airport

where they are located followed by “FBO”. Names of player owned FBOs are chosen by the

players but default to the player company’s four-character code, followed by the name of the

airport where the FBO is located.

Distance: This is the distance of this FBO from the selected search location.

Heading: This is the magnetic heading of this FBO from the selected search location.

100LL Fuel: Price per gallon of 100LL fuel at this FBO.

Jet Fuel: Price per gallon of Jet fuel at this FBO.

100LL (gal): The amount of 100LL fuel currently stored at this FBO.

Jet (gal): The amount of Jet fuel currently stored at this FBO.

Workshop markup: The cost markup of workshop services at this FBO, rounded to the nearest

whole number.

SEP - HEAVY: These six columns indicate what level (if any) workshop is available at this FBO for

each of the six aircraft type categories. A solid circle indicates a level 1 workshop and a circle

with a dot in the center, indicates a level 2 workshop is available. A level 2 workshop is needed

for annual checkups and engine replacements.

Services: This column displays the services available at this FBO. Public services may include

100LL fuel, Jet fuel and a workshop. Hovering over the workshop wrench ( ) icon will display a

tooltip with more details, including the exact workshop markup. For your own FBOs, you will

also see other icons for any available services (cargo storage, crew rooms or aircraft tie downs).

❗ Note: 100LL or Jet fuel service is only available at an FBO if this column contains that

particular fuel icon. There could be fuel present at an FBO but unless the service icon is

showing, it is not available to the public.

Actions: For any FBOs that your company owns, you will find a “Manage” button in this column

which when used, loads the FBO Management page, described in detail in the next section.

Upgrade: If an FBO is being constructed or undergoing an upgrade, you will see an icon in this

column ( ). Hovering over this icon will display a tooltip with details about when the

construction or upgrade will be completed.

💡 Tips:

Most columns in the list can be sorted by clicking on their titles and filtered by using the little

“filter” button in the column headers.

System FBOs (those that are not owned by players) restock their fuel if needed once a week to

a random amount between 50% and 100% of their max amount.

Page 83: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 82

11.3 FBO Management To open your own FBO, use the “Create an FBO” button found on any Airport Details page where you

don’t already have one. There can only be one FBO per company at any airport but there is no limit to

how many companies can have FBOs at any particular airport, nor is there a limit to how many FBOs

your company can have worldwide. In order to open FBOs, you must unlock the appropriate skill in the

Company Skill Tree.

If you already have one or more FBOs, you can access their management page from:

The Airport Details page where the FBO is located, by clicking on the FBO name which will be

displayed in blue in the FBOs section located in the upper right.

From the “My FBOs” page under the “My Company” menu, by using the “Manage” button in the

“Actions” column of the list. The “My FBOs” page shows the same information as described in

the previous section (FBO Search), except that only your own FBOs are displayed.

If you came to this page immediately after using the “Create an FBO” button, the only details that you

will see here are the “FBO Name” field where you can enter a name for your new FBO (remember that

others will see this so make sure it is not offensive) and the “FBO Assets Configuration” area, where you

can choose the initial options you would like to have at your FBO. You will also see the ”Get a

Quotation” button which when used, will load a new page detailing the cost and time of the proposed

work. If you are happy with the cost and time, you can accept, otherwise you can cancel.

If you are on this page after the initial setup of your FBO has already been started or completed, you will

see most, if not all of the details shown in the picture above.

FBO Name: Here you can change the name of your FBO, even after it has already been created.

Again, please choose a name that would not be offensive to others.

FBO Assets Configuration: This is where you can change the options that you would like to have

at your FBO. Any changes that you make here will only go into effect after you request a

Page 84: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 83

quotation and accept the cost and time needed to complete the upgrades and wait until the

work is finished.

o Cargo Hangar: If you plan on leaving cargo overnight at this airport often, having a cargo

hangar will save you on storage fees that the airport will otherwise charge you. The

maximum amount is 500,000 lbs.

o 100LL and Jet Fuel Tanks: Having your own fuel tanks at the FBO allows you to purchase

fuel at wholesale prices which you can then use to refuel your aircraft or make it

available to other players at a profit, if you like. The maximum amount is 500,000

gallons per tank, but more than one can be created.

o Crew Rooms: Having crew rooms at your FBO allows your employees to rest there for

free, instead of having to pay hotel fees. The maximum amount is 50.

o Aircraft Tiedowns and Aircraft Hangar: These allow your company aircraft to park at this

airport for free. In the future, hangars will include a deicing feature. The maximum

amount of each is 50.

o Sell fuel to other players: Here, you can choose to make your fuel available to other

players. When either one of the fuel type boxes is checked, others will be able to buy

fuel from your FBO at the price that you choose here. Selling fuel to others requires the

appropriate skill to be unlocked in the Company Skill Tree.

Workshop Agreements: Having a workshop at your FBO allows you to service and repair your

aircraft at this airport. Having a workshop requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the

Company Skill Tree.

o You can decide which categories of aircraft your workshop will be able to service and

what level of service it will be able to provide. You will need level 2 to perform annual

checkups and engine replacements, otherwise level 1 will suffice.

o You can also allow others to use your workshop with a cost markup, if you like. This also

requires the appropriate skill to be unlocked in the Company Skill Tree.

o In order for your workshop to function, you will need at least one mechanic assigned to

it. You can hire mechanics for your company from the Job Market page.

Get a Quotation: Using this button will load a new page detailing the cost and time of the

proposed work that you have selected above and if you are happy with it, you can accept,

otherwise you can cancel and come back to the main FBO Management page.

Fuel Orders: If you have fuel tanks at your FBO, you can purchase fuel here at wholesale prices

up to the maximum amount that your fuel tanks can hold. When you have entered the amounts

that you want to purchase, use the “Order Fuel” button to finalize the order.

Logistic Queries: Logistic Queries are special jobs that your FBOs provide for your company. With

the appropriate skill unlocked in the Company Skill Tree, you can have up to three queries in a

repeating queue which can provide you with new jobs as often as every day. Each queue is color

coded and corresponds to the queues found on the FBO Queries page. Each query will provide

your company with jobs originating at this airport as well as jobs that have this airport as its

destination. You decide the parameters for each query, including the direction, range, minimum

and maximum cargo and passengers and the minimum airport size. After you have entered your

desired parameters, remember to use the “Save Queries Parameters” button. You can also use

the “Look at current Jobs proposal” button and the FBO Queries page will load, showing you the

currently available FBO Query Jobs.

12. Company Skill Tree The Company Skill Tree is where you can unlock new features and productivity bonuses for your

company. It can be accessed from the “My Company” menu by selecting “Skill Tree”.

To unlock new skills, you need to gain enough XP for your company to level up. When you first start your

company, your company will be at level 1 and you will have one skill point to assign, which can be used

to unlock one of the four skills on the far left. For each additional level that your company gains, you will

be awarded 2 new skill points. You can gain XP to help your company level up in the following ways:

By flying within your simulator and having OnAir track your flights, as described in the Flights

chapter. Any successfully tracked flight that you conduct yourself in your simulator will award

you some amount of XP, whether you have a job on board or not. The base XP gained is 1 for

every 2 nautical miles flown, with more XP awarded if you land at smaller airports. The

maximum bonus is 10% for landing at a size 0 airport.

By completing Missions, described in the Types of Jobs section of the Jobs chapter, which award

large amounts of XP. Sometimes you have to fly them yourself (if you see a little joystick ( )

icon for one or more of the Mission legs) and sometimes they can be flown by AI pilots. Either

way, completing Missions will give your company a large XP boost.

To assign skill points to a skill, click on any blue “plus”

button. Some skills require more than one skill point to

unlock and some skills have multiple tiers. You can hover

over the skill tier indicators (as highlighted in the picture on

the left) to display a tooltip with details about the skill’s

effect. Most skills have a prerequisite skill that needs to be unlocked first, shown by connecting colored

lines.

❗ Note: After assigning any skill points, remember to use the “Save” button at the bottom right of the

page, otherwise your changes will not be saved. You can use the “Undo” button to revert any changes

you have made on this page but only before you save.

💡 Tip: If you are not playing on Survival Mode, you can unlock the entire Company Skill Tree in the

Global Settings, without having to wait for your company to level up and gain enough skill points.

13. Outsourcing and Social Being that OnAir Airline Manager is a persistent online world, it includes ways that you can connect with

other players. More player interaction features are planned for future updates but one way that you can

already share your experience with others, is by cooperative job completion, known in the OnAir World

as Outsourcing. Details on the mechanics of Outsourcing can be found in the Outsourcing Jobs section

of the Jobs chapter but this chapter will provide you with some ideas on how you can put the

Outsourcing feature into practice.

OnAir provides many ways of completing jobs. You don’t always have to fly the whole job yourself and

you don’t have to fly a job non-stop. You can fly a 2000NM job in a Cessna 172 if you like, by splitting it

up into smaller legs so you can refuel. You can even take the cargo or passengers part of the way and

then have an AI pilot take them the rest of the way or you can deliver the cargo or passengers in

multiple trips if the load is too much for your aircraft to carry. But to engage the help of other players in

the OnAir World, you can use the Outsourcing feature.

13.1 Outsourcing Examples Example #1:

Let’s say that you found an Event Logistic Job

around the Chicago area, as shown in the

picture. It’s a good paying job that requires

delivery of Equipment Pallets, Technicians and

Army Personnel from four different locations to

an event located near Indianapolis (KHFY). The

only issue is that you only have one aircraft in

the area and because the job expires soon,

there is no way that you will be able to

complete it in time by yourself.

You could rent more aircraft and hire more

pilots to help you but you remember that one

of your friends, who also has a company within

the OnAir World does a lot of flying around the

Chicago area and you already have a

Partnership established with him (more on

Partnerships within the OnAir World can be

found later in this chapter). While a Partnership

is not required to create an Outsourced Job, it

can be helpful because it allows you to make

the job visible only to your partners.

So, you set up the Outsourcing Proposal for two

of the four legs, departing from 79IL and KCUL

(you realize that you can manage the other two

yourself) and notify your friend. You can even

use the built-in mail system to send him a private message. Your friend accepts the offer you have

Page 90: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 89

created and completes the outsourced portion of the job and gets paid the amount which you offered

when creating the proposal. You complete your portion and also get paid by the system because all

parts of the job have been delivered. Now both your and your friend’s companies have more credits

because you were able to work together to complete a job that you otherwise would not have been able

to complete yourself.

Example #2:

You run a small Alaskan charter company and one day you find a very lucrative job (5,000,000cr) while

searching the Logistic Center but you know that you are not in a position to complete it at this time. The

job doesn’t expire for another 7 days so you take a chance and accept it, planning to outsource the

entire job and offer 90% of the pay to anyone who accepts and completes it. You create the Outsourcing

Proposal, offering 4,500,000cr as the wage for completion.

Eventually, another player finds the Outsourced Job and since they run a large company which can easily

handle the delivery, they accept and complete the job on time. Because the entire job is now delivered,

the other player’s company earns 4,500,000cr while your company earns 500,000cr without you having

to fly a single mile.

Example #3:

You are based in Germany and have built up a large company, mainly flying jobs between major airports

in Europe and the US. You prefer to fly most jobs yourself instead of having a large staff and for obvious

reasons, you only fly large aircraft which can make the transatlantic journey quickly. However, you have

been seeing a lot of jobs originating at large hubs around your main base of operations with destinations

at small airstrips all around the US. You would like to take advantage of the profits that such jobs can

provide but you really don’t want to set up small aircraft operations in the US…and landing your large

jets on such small runways is out of the question.

While chatting on the official OnAir Discord server, you befriend a person who loves flying smaller

aircraft around the US, in fact, it’s the main thing that his company specializes in! You create a

Partnership between your two companies where you accept and fly cargo and passengers from around

Europe in your large jets and deliver them to main hubs around the US. You then outsource the jobs to

your new partner who makes the deliveries to their final destinations. Both companies profit and you

have a great time creating the logistical operations for this venture.

Example #4:

You are running a company based in San Francisco, and you prefer to fly exclusively in that area only (all

your addon scenery is there) but you see many jobs originating from your area with destinations around

Denver and you would like to take advantage of them. You find another player whose operations focus

mainly around Colorado and form a Partnership with them.

Page 91: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 90

The idea is that each of you will accept jobs with destinations around the other person’s base of

operations. You will then both transport the cargo or passengers to Phoenix (which is a good in-between

point) and do a load exchange where you take your partner’s load to the West Coast where it needs to

be delivered while he takes your load to the Denver area, where its destination is. This, of course, is

accomplished by using the Outsourcing feature.

13.2 Partnerships Partnerships in the OnAir World allow players to work together for common goals. You can access the

Partnerships page from the “World” menu by selecting “Partnerships” or from the “Partners” area on

Your Company Dashboard.

This page displays all of your active Partnerships as well as any invitations that you have sent or

received. You can take actions here to cancel any active Partnerships or sent invitations and accept or

decline any received invitations.

Partnerships provide the following benefits:

When creating Outsourcing Job Proposals, you can choose to have the Outsourced Job be

visible and available only to your partners.

On Your Company Dashboard, you can see when your partners are online within the OnAir

World.

Partnerships allow you to communicate via the OnAir internal mail system, described in the next

section.

The “Propose a partnership” button loads the following page:

Page 92: OnAir AIRLINE MANAGER - CEO’s Operations Manual › content › OnAir AIRLINE... · What is OnAir Airline Manager? It is a persistent online world in which you, as your company’s

www.onair.company 91

Here, you can send an invite to:

A player who has already registered in OnAir by either entering their e-mail address or their

company’s four-character code.

A friend who has not yet joined OnAir by entering their e-mail address.

13.3 Mailbox OnAir provides a simple internal mail service where you can send private messages to your partners.

You can access the mailbox from the “My Company” menu by selecting “Mailbox”.

When sending mail, you can choose the recipient from a drop-down list of your partners.

13.4 Forums and Discord If you want to reach the OnAir team about any issues that you’re having, to ask questions or to offer

ideas and suggestions, the best way to do that is to post on the official forum:

https://onairhelp.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/

There is also an official Discord server set up where you can meet and chat with other players and also

receive help from either the OnAir team or the community: https://discord.gg/WY5htXu

14. Mobile Apps (iOS and Android) The use of free companion mobile apps for iOS and Android is included with your regular subscription to

OnAir. To use them, you will need to log in with your main OnAir account. They can be found on the

respective mobile app stores by searching for “OnAir Airline Manager”.

The picture on the right is an example of

the iOS App which is very similar to the

Android App. Here, you can see the

latest news, your company notifications

and you can also use the ”JOBS” button

to search for and accept available jobs,

just like you can in the Logistic Center in

the main desktop Windows application.

More features will be added to the

mobile apps in future updates.

15. Additional Tips Here are some additional tips to help you along on your journey as an airline CEO:

Have a long-term plan, especially if you’re playing on Survival Mode. While you may be able to

become the next multi-millionaire quickly when playing on the regular modes, in Survival Mode

you should be prepared to spend a good amount of time planning, managing and flying if you

want to be successful. Survival Mode is not meant for those who like to rush to the destination,

but rather for those who enjoy the journey. The upcoming leader boards will only be available to

companies which are in Survival Mode.

Some smaller US airports in the OnAir database have an extra letter “K” in front. So, if you aren’t

able to find it in your simulator, try omitting the “K”.

Never fly empty anywhere if you can avoid it, which most of the time you can. There are jobs

almost everywhere and if you don’t find one going from a specific airport, you can search

surrounding airports in the Logistic Center and chances are there will be a suitable job nearby

(remember to enter all the search parameters like Range and max Cargo/Passengers). You can

also search for jobs going to an airport by changing the Direction. If you plan ahead and are

always on the lookout, you can usually make each flight with a full load which means more

profit.

When you have an aircraft flown by an AI crew that needs a 100-hour inspection, as soon as you

start the inspection, you can also start skill training on the AI crew since it takes 24 hours to do

both.

Passengers boarded onto an aircraft will only stay there for up to an hour. If you keep them on

board longer without starting a flight, they will deboard the aircraft and you will have to board

them again.

Whenever any of your owned aircraft are not being used for a few days, think about performing

maintenance or repairs on them as described in the Aircraft Maintenance section of the Aircraft

chapter.

Regarding different entries of the same aircraft sometimes found in the database:

Any time a player imports an aircraft into the system which does not exactly match anything

that is already present, a new entry is created. In real world terms, you can think of it this way: if

you were to post an ad somewhere asking to buy a Cessna 172, you would probably get a lot of

replies asking you exactly which model of the 172 you are looking for, as the options are almost

countless.

The same thing happens with OnAir where you have many different types of addons that

represent the same real world aircraft. In order to avoid issues (even simulator crashes),

whenever someone imports an aircraft that has even a small difference in stats, a new "version"

is created. If it has the same name, a sequential (#) is added after the name to help distinguish it

from the others. So essentially, if someone plays around with any of the stats in the aircraft

config file that OnAir reads or does anything else to change what the simulator reports to OnAir

when searching the database for an aircraft loaded in the simulator, a new version will be

created.
