~ Good Coffee for a Good Cause ~

The Presbyterian Coffee Project offers a special link between congregations and communities around the world. Churches can now reach out to neighbors overseas not only with the prayers and offerings we give, but with the goods and products we purchase. A warm cup of coffee (or tea) in our hands is perhaps the most tangible daily connection we have with farmers around the world. It represents warmth, hospitality, fellowship, hard work and life’s pleasures both fine and simple. Buying fair trade through the Presbyterian Coffee Project ensures that more of the money we spend on coffee reaches the hardworking farmers who actually grow it.

You will have the opportunity to purchase this coffee and tea TODAY

between and after services. We have a variety of coffees and teas to choose from including decaf, ground and whole bean. COME TRY OUR NEW FLAVORS!!!!

Fall

With fall approaching, Threads to Heal the Heart (Prayer Quilt) and the Prayer Shawl Ministry are hard at work creating warm hugs for those in need. Threads to Heal the Heart meets on the 4th Monday of each month. You don't have to be a quilter to help out; there are hand sewing jobs available and we would be glad to get you started on quilting, too. Please contact Ginny Weaver (734-207-7554 or [email protected]) if you have any questions about the prayer quilt ministry. Prayer Shawl meets the 4th Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Hearth Room. We have both knitters and crocheters, and we would be glad to help you get started on a project. We even have yarn available. For questions about the Prayer Shawl Ministry, contact Darlene Maginley (248-344-9908) or Ginny Weaver (734-207-7554 or [email protected])

If you know of someone you would like to present a quilt or shawl to, the process is easy. Shawls are available on the display in the hallway across from the Library. Just fill in the form and pick out the shawl you would like to present. Quilts can be obtained 2 ways. There are a few in the same display as the shawls. Again, fill out the form and pick out your quilt. You can also fill out a form in the box in the Narthex and leave it in the other half of the box. We will let you know when a quilt is ready to be presented. A new addition is the pocket prayer shawl. These are small squares that easily fit in your hand or pocket. You will find them in a basket in the prayer shawl display. You do not need to fill out a form. If you wish to take one for yourself or someone else, just help yourself. This is ideal for someone who may not want a large shawl or quilt, but could use a reminder that they are not alone and we are praying for them.
