Where are the opportunities for the church in the challenges and giftedness of the Millennial Generation? Head to Heart - the Lenten Journey Continues Head to Heart is the theme for our Lenten journey as a church family this year. This theme is intended to help us focus closely on our relationship with God between Ash Wednesday and Easter. As with any deep and meaningful relationship, communication is a key element; therefore, prayer will play a major role in this journey. Prayer is our means to commune with and grow in relationship with God. We ask that you set aside time to engage with our Lord and remember God's constant presence in our lives. To share ourselves with our Creator and listen for God's message to us takes discipline and intentional time in prayer. You can view daily prayer prompts on the SJA Facebook page - just click here, or you can see the entire weeks prompts if you click here and a printed version is available in the church lobby. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37 Calling all singers! It's time to begin rehearsing for our Easter choir cantata. Plus we learned Pastor Marcs secret. <GROAN> There were entertaining acts of music, poetry, comedy, dance, drama, and the un-usual. Laughs, groans, and general enjoyment were had by all. A special thanks is extended to all the amazing talent. Thanks to all the hard-working volunteers. Thanks to all the wonderful bakers. It was a tight competition, we had a 3 way tie for 2nd place, but Irene Reed won best, tastiest cake. Coffee donation totals: 21 tins of coffee. 8 packs of cups. And 10 packs of filters. Plus $65.50 in cash donations. All in all, a great outreach for our community, a great support for the Arlington Life Shelter, and a great night for St John the Apostle.
