CLYDE AKIN

Young Clyde Akin of Biitchton Isdead His associates heard the rustleand saw the splashing of the waters-of Blue Sink and it was over Deathcame unheralded came as the shad-ows

¬

steal at evening over the earthsoftly closing the flowers and touch ¬

ing them to sleep silently and loving-ly

¬

in the promise of a bright awaken-ing

¬

So he fell asleep Nature disen isedthe vital cord and Clyde passedserenely into rest on the other shore-of that mysterious home

Yes Clyde is gone but he left behindhim for our instruction the lesson of abeautiful life of sympathy humility-and Christian service

The love that all the people borehim was illustrated by the scenes thatoccurred about the brink of Blue Sinkwhere his mortality remains-

If there b one soul at whose ap-proach

¬

the pearly gates of the celes ¬

tial city shall open widest and offerfree entrance to its glories surely Itshall be that of Clyde

Whether we shall meet him again-we cannot tell we only know thathere we shall see him no more Hu-

manity¬

revolts at the thought that thehearts affections which brightenadorn and purify our lives the love ofmother father brother sister yeakindred and friends are all buried inthe deep

We deplore his loss to the commu ¬
