@KentCFA @KentFA Kent.FA KentCFA

Congratulations to the four teams on reaching today’s finals for the Kent Junior C Cup and Kent Junior A Cup! It's been a difficult and stressful time of late, however I am pleased and proud that we finally get to hold these delayed Cup Finals. The events today are the culmination of hours of practice, determination and fun so regardless of the result, we hope that everyone involved will enjoy the matches and have a memorable day out.I am proud of the work by all at Kent FA which has enabled teams and clubs from Kent to continue to participate in grassroots football and I thank my Kent FA colleagues, volunteers and staff, for their organisation of the competitions throughout the past two seasons and the finals today.Best of luck to all the teams competing today.

Denise Richmond, Kent FA Chair

Welcome to the Gallagher StadiumWelcome to the Gallagher Stadium, for the Kent Junior Cup A and Kent Junior Cup C Finals for 2020.

A particularly warm welcome is extended to the players, officials and supporters of TNS United, Selhurst FC, Littlebourne FC & Greenways Aces FC. It is great to finally be able to complete the 2019-2020 Kent FA Cup Finals, something which we as an organisation were keen to complete despite the challenging past 14 months. It was important to us that we recognised the achievement of the players and club officials for their effort in reaching a Kent FA Cup final. This is their great day and represents a just reward for their efforts during the 2019-2020 season. We would also like to congratulate today’s Match Officials for being honoured with their prestigious County Cup Finals appointment as recognition for their exceptional performances. Finally, we would like to thank Maidstone United for the use of their excellent facilities today.

The past 12 months have been extremely challenging for everyone involved within grassroots football across Kent, and I am sure that the effects of the pandemic will still be felt in the grassroots game for some time. There will be some significant challenges for football in this county as we transition out of the pandemic and restart grassroots football, but with the vaccination programme and an ease of the lockdown restrictions, we hope that the 2021-2022 season returns to being a more ‘normal’ one.

As the governing body of football in Kent, the Kent FA aims to establish safe and structured football opportunities for the benefit of all. The Kent FA is committed to creating a culture of continuous improvement and working towards higher standards of service delivery to support football in Kent and ultimately provide a positive football experience to everyone.

People’s perception of Kent FA often revolves around rules and regulation, but we actually do more than you think! Our diverse work includes widening football participation levels, raising standards so more people can enjoy football, delivering competitions and running representative football. This is all in addition to our vital work in governing the game in Kent. On behalf of the Kent FA we would like to wish all teams the best of luck today and most of all, that it is an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Darryl Haden, Chief Executive, Kent FA

"

Congratulations to all involved in today's final. Whatever the result you should take great pride in your achievement in reaching this stage. "

Manager's NotesTNS United

TNS United are a newly formed men’s football team that started in the 2019/20 season. The team is made up from players aged between 22-24 years of age and based in the Beckenham/Bromley area. The team is managed by Toby Teverson – Greig who currently holds a UEFA B License he obtained at 22 years old. We currently compete in the Bromley and South London Football League and before Covid-19 struck mid-season we were top of the league in our debut season. On top of this, we made The Kent Junior ‘C’ Cup Final. Across every division, we had scored the most team goals and held the most points at the time. We also had the top 2 goal scorers in our league. On course for an amazing debut season, whilst the leagues were made void, The Kent FA have been brilliant in allowing this cup final to be played this season after all our hard work we put into getting here last season and we thank them for that.

Tommy and I worked hard to get a squad of 18+ in before the season but wanted to keep the recruitment local and at a similar age. The players also had to believe in the philosophy and fit the core values of the club. We had lots of interest and some fantastic players come in on trial. In the end, we were delighted with the squad depth. Interestingly, 90% of the squad had never played this level of football so it was new for most and we were both very surprised at how fast we adapted. I see lots of teams with 100s of players signed up but always believed in quality over quantity. From day one we wanted to replicate the environment of a professional football team on the training ground, match day and off the field. I believe this made us perform better on a matchday.

Toby Teverson – GreigPlayer/Manager TNS United"

I cannot express how proud I am of my team to reach a Kent Cup Final in our first ever season as a club. The boys have travelled to play teams in Rochester and Sevenoaks throughout our journey to the final showing the efforts they have made. The hard work and attitude since day one has been fantastic and the rewards of this are clear to see. I thank them for allowing me to lead this journey for them and believing in the vision I have. I would also like to thank Tommy for his support and guidance every week and Joe McDaid for handling the admin and finances for the team. Lastly, a massive thank you to all the supporters who have been to home and away matches every week. I cannot place enough emphasis on the impact this has on the players. "

Managers' NotesSelhurst FC

Rob Tanner & Jordan Tapp took over the side in April 2021 on the back of previous manager John Gadd unfortunately having to step down. Rob & Jordan have brought a fresh approach to the job & have quite honestly been fantastic since taking over. Both of them are key figures on the pitch & off the pitch. They have taken the role extremely seriously & the results since they’ve taken charge speak for themselves. They both bring fantastic balance with there style of management being different but exactly what we need to try & continue to progress as a club.

The Management Team

Rob TannerSelhurst FC Manager Rob Tanner is the definition of a club legend. With 106 goals in 89 games for the club his record is honestly ridiculous. Rob’s been here since the beginning & is in truth the heartbeat of our side on & off the pitch. I could probably only count on one hand any player we’ve played against as good as him. This man is an extremely special player. Rob has a habit of popping up in the big moments & hopefully today will be no different.

Jordan TappSelhurst FC Manager Jordan joined the club at the back end of last season for our Sunday side. After lots of persuasion, we finally managed to secure his services for our Saturday side for the 2020/21 season & what a signing he has been!! Jordan is crucial to the way we play. Every game runs through him & is honestly one of the best midfielders at this level. Jordan off the pitch is an extremely knowledgable character, he always says the right thing and is the king of a team talk! Jordan’s football brain is fantastic & like Rob is a very talented footballer as well as manager for our team.

Callum LansleySelhurst FC ChairmanThe work this man has done for this club can’t really be put into words. Over the years we have had many different players and various managers, and I would bet my life that each and every person that was ever affiliated with Selhurst doesn’t have a bad word to say about this man! Not only has Callum dedicated the majority of his own time and even his own money into this club in recent years to get it to the position we are in now, he always wants what’s best for others! His unbelievable man management and overall kindness is one of the many reasons we have been able to keep such a great bunch of lads. Which is why this is not just a football club, but a family, all because of this man! We all can’t thank you enough.

Liam Sallis - Not only does he have the technical ability to play as an outfield player, Sallis would jump headfirst into a sea of boots for the team. Probably the best keeper at this standard and we’re extremely lucky to have him.

Jay Bateman - YES! YES! YES! You’ll never see someone get so many nosebleeds while still managing to sound like a broken record. Jay is as versatile as they come could play anywhere apart from up top. Very tidy player.

Liam McEvoy - “Are you blind?! You can’t see me!??” He might not play with the trademark hi-viz on, but he most certainly plays with the aggression and fight! An absolute nightmare to play against and has also popped up with a few important goals in the clubs history.

Kyle Rennock - The shiniest head in the game! Mr Overlap brings bundles of pace & energy down our right flank. Kyle has been a huge addition to our Saturday side this year & an ever present member of our vastly improved back four!

Reece Cowley - The only man to get jet black hair with a ginger beard and get away with it. Despite this, Reece has been a massive addition to the side. He has only being here a year and already been made club captain which speaks volumes of the impact he has had, and how highly everyone values Reece.

Jake Seager - Slickest Barnet in the game! The experienced head of the side and always gets the team going when the going gets tough. This is just one of the many reasons why Jake is not only a vital member of the team but he is also the clubs vice-captain.

Nick Powell - Some say he plays for PSG on a Wednesday and Selhurst on a Saturday #Marquinhos. Despite the recent injuries since joining the Saturdays, Nick has always performed and been extremely solid when called upon.

Jerome Robinson-Young - You’ll never have a conversation with him without the mention of the screamer he scored 3 years ago. Another player who has been ridiculed with injuries, but when fit the ex-captain is a complete athlete and rarely puts a foot wrong.

Ben Donaldson - BENS HEAD! You’ll hear the shout echo all the way back in Selhurst, from a man who gives you a guaranteed 8 out of 10 every week. Not only one of the most hardworking players in the team but also up there with the best technically!

Callum Lansley - Step-over left, step-over right. With the ball at his feet Callum is a very awkward player to play against. His low centre of gravity and superb feet combined with his hard work and tireless engine is why many players regard the thumb as the best player at the club!

Elliot Gibson - Keep your legs closed, that’s the only advice I’ll give you. Elliot is not only a joy to play with but an absolute joy to watch, with his silky skills and tremendous feet it’s hard to stop this man when he gets in full flow.

Jordan Tapp - When he decides to turn up sober, he is at the heart of everything good we do. Despite having a parachute on, Jordan is the man that keeps the team ticking and is not only tidy on the ball but works very hard off it too.

Managers' NotesLittlebourne FC

Firstly, we would like to thank all our friends & family that have taken time to travel here today to support us in this final. Speaking on behalf of the squad, we really appreciate your support throughout this cup run & your attendance this afternoon. There is one thing that we can guarantee today & that is that you will be here in full force & as noisy as ever to cheer on the lads.

On behalf of Shaun & myself, we would also like to thank Craig Loomer who was an integral part of the management team last season & with his calming influence & footballing knowledge helped mastermind us to our second Kent Cup Final.

In any successful team, you need a good support network around you & we get that from our assistants James Long & the Wayney Rhodes. A special mention goes to our amazing Secretary Ali Gough who works tirelessly throughout the season & keeps all of us management boys in check. We must also thank Steve Beer & Anthony Roberts who have worked week in, week out maintaining the pitch, and Sue & Dee for washing the kit!

We would also like to thank our kit sponsor Screen Machine who keep us looking fresh & Paul Bishop of Groundwork & Building Solutions Ltd who has kindly sponsored the squads training tops this afternoon. Your all legends!

Coming runners up in the “B section” of the Kent Cup final last season losing via penalties made us dust ourselves down, revaluate & comeback even more determined than ever. As a management team, we identified where we could improve & built a squad which we believed could compete at the level up, having been promoted into the senior section of the cup. With some shrewd signings & with the core of the squad having gained the experience from the previous seasons cup run, we were taking on these county sides with no fear & the added grit & determination to get back to Maidstone asap. To get here once as a club is a huge achievement, to get here a second time just goes to show the hard work we have all put in & the character of everyone associated with this squad.

To say we are extremely proud of what the lads have achieved again this season is a huge understatement. Our players & the supporters love this competition & it has created a real buzz amongst the community & around the club especially after a real tough year for all of us, having said that, this game has been a welcome boost for us all and thanks must go to the Kent FA for getting the game on. The players & the management team are well prepared for the game today & everything feels a little bit more familiar from last years’ experience.

Good luck to our lads today. Go do yourselves & the club Proud…. Up the Yella.

Bounda & Looms

Shannon Harris - Our Journeyman goalkeeper who has finally found a place to rest his head after discovering the clubs £3 Moretti, a fantastic shot stopper with excellent distribution. Jon Lewis - Named after his mum’s favourite high end, high street retailer, his frightening pace and ariel ability are enough to cause even the best of defences a headache. Craig Swann - Littlebourne’s very own international man of mystery, who reads the game well and is solid in defence. You will not meet a more calm and composed character. Steve Murray - A real home bargain when we signed him two seasons ago. He has developed into a strong, and uncompromising defender who is always willing to put his body on the line. Alex Cooper - A local lad, who is extremely versatile along the back 4. His pace, strength and athleticism make him a key addition to the squad. Mr Happy.Euan Morgan - Arguably the fittest player in our squad, who due to his pace, strength and ability can play anywhere on the pitch. Dan Tanner - A real fan favourite who would head a brick if thrown at him. His Kent league experience has helped the lads no end during this campaign when not begging to play up front. Tony Huggins - Legs like dried spaghetti, but a club stalwart who always puts in 100% and is a real vocal point of the squad. Big changing room character.Liam Horgan - Our very own James Milner with a bit more personality…Just. Accomplished on the ball and who will do anything asked of him. Daniel Wells - CAPTAIN, LEADER, LEGEND! He wears his heart on his sleeve and sets the tone for the rest of the lads. Upside down head.Teddy Johnson - Our play making central midfielder who could find space in a phone box. Loves the ball at his feet and is a real joy to watch. Josh Baker - The Quarterback. He gets the ball down and gets us playing the link between defence and attack, prone to go missing when asked for his match fees. Luke Hedges - A ball winning midfielder who loves a tackle and has chipped in with the odd vital goal during this campaign.

Brandon Kerr -Another local lad who is a real braveheart. Top lad who is good on the pitch and another extremely versatile member of our squad. Jock though so hard to understand.Liam Blackwell - The Bodysnatcher who we lose over Christmas each year due to his role in the seven dwarves. Excellent with the ball at his feet and a real impact player. Robbie Loomer - Littlebourne born and bred, our club talisman and goal machine. Scorer of THAT goal in the last Kent Cup Final. Danny Bangs - A tricky, direct winger who runs through walls and scores plenty of goals. Clubs worst dancer without a shadow of a doubt. Matty Martin - The Ginger Messi - a prolific front man with bags of pace and a real eye for goal. A player for the big occasion. Bobby Powell - 6ft 7 striker who is our latest signing. Excellent in the air. Shot power 99. Callum Hooper - Littlebourne born and bred, who has a missues & mum who can out drink him. Versatile midfielder who runs all day. Garry Cooper - Cool and calm Centre half, Littlebourne’s berasi. The best Last Man Standing player in history. Jamie Bounds - Former skipper turned gaffer who combines passion with preparation and loves a team talk. Shaun Loomer -Another local lad who is the heart and soul of the club. Second half of the management duo who was a player last time around.Craig Loomer - The experienced head of the management team, a calming influence with over 30 years of service and a no-nonsense approach. Legend. James Long - Every club needs a longy, from running the line to collecting the subs - no job is too big or small now taking the Physio role.Wayne Rhodes - Where do we start – club nutritionist and the epitome of club legend, he gels the club together and everyone loves him. He’s our number 9, give him the ball and he’ll score every time!!

Manager's NotesGreenways Aces FC

The route to the final has been a tough one. The boys have consistently put in good performances not only in the league but in training too. It’s been a tough year for everyone, on and off the pitch and we can only thank the Kent FA for facilitating the County Cup finals this year. I'd also like to make a special thank you to our regular goalkeeper coach Ben Thomas who unfortunately has moved on to bigger and brighter career paths and cannot be here today. Three other people who would also love to be here today but unfortunately aren't are; Jason Gill, who the club was formed in memory of and son of club president Jorge Gill, Steve Cook, an ambassador of local Gravesend football and for many of us, our first ever football manager and last, but not least, Slim Nijjer, our friendly local pub owner who gave us a home when nobody else would. We hope we are doing you all proud.

Liam BarhamFirst Team Manager

"While I have not been managing Aces for long, being a part of the semi-final felt magical.I have been honoured to work with a fantastic group of players and joint manager Liam. The club has faced challenges and lost many who are held dear. This game will be in honour of those. We’re ready and the magic of a cup final will never be forgotten! Littlebourne are a tremendous outfit with lots of ability so it will make a thrilling encounter.

Josh Foxwell-Morgan "

David Handley (GK)David joined the club at the start of season 20/21 and has excelled with our u18’s and kept games alive for us all year.

Fred Horton (RB)An ambitious full back who loves positive play, Fred's enthusiasm in the changing room is second to none.

Rhys Theobald (RB)A loan deal turned into a dream come true, Theo has joined us from Ilford and played at a high level, an experienced head on the pitch.

George Kingdon (CB)A man that wears the badge on his heart. George has been at the club for 3 years and is every manager's dream when it comes to consistent performances and attitude.

Reece Lyons (CB) Reece captained the side throughout the 2019/20 season and led us to being here today. We thank Reece for his experience and participation throughout the past 3 years of service.

Rashid Braima (LB)Rash is an u18’s graduate who has played KYL football for a long time. His age does not reflect this on the pitch. His footballing sense in reality is no different to that belonging to an older head!

Kala Beredugo (CB)Kala's the man in the changing room whose words not only make sense, but motivates every player in the room.

Sam Cuthbert (LM) Sam is the dead ball specialist of the team. His forward movement and creatively causes problems for all oppositions, always on the score sheet and the assist king.

Randeep Sabharwal (Studs)Studs was part of the 19/20 and the 20/21 Season. Studs has played for many teams in Gravesend, but 100% Aces has been his favourite. He plays all across the back and in the middle - every team needs a Studs!

Kieran Ellis (CDM) Kieran has been player of the season 2 years on the trot for us. He hasn’t missed 1 game in 3 years, nor 1 session. Kieran is always our opposition’s favourite player. At only 18 years old he’s definitely one to watch.

Jamie Blackham (CM) Jamie joined us this season, a good friend of goalkeeper David. Jamie is a utility player through and through. He can play deeper or higher and this helps us weekly!

Isaac Howard (CM) Isaac was our captain in season 19/20 and led us all the way through to the finals. After commitment issues, Isaac left us to play more enjoyable football at our reserves side halfway through this season - an absolute engine in midfield.

Sam Burton (W) Sam is often overlooked by the opposition due to being a young, up and coming player, but don’t be fooled. Sam’s coaching at youth level mixed with his passion for fitness and hard work makes him every fullbacks nightmare. Another one to watch.

Lewis Stevens (W/CAM) Lewis is another player who dragged us through to the final today. Playing for Aces for 2 years now, Lewis is only just getting started. His uniqueness is being able to also do a job as a higher midfielder as well as wide.

Kenny Ogbuagu (W/CAM) Kenny is an ex-academy player, who has come in this season and sparked an enthusiasm on the pitch with his forward thinking.

Elijah Eastwood (CF) Elijah is a well known face and name all around the club, and also the Gravesend football scene. Elijah has been with the club for 15 years, and unfortunately today will be his last game. We thank Elijah today by letting him wear the armband and leading the squad by example. Thankyou Elijah.

Hello! Congratulations to all the appointed match officials, who have been selected to officiate in today's County Cup finals. Being selected to officiate on a final-tie is an extremely prestigious appointment, and highlights the hard work, commitment and effort that they have all contributed over the course of the season. With 23 finals this season, we have appointed 92 match officials to final-ties, representing just 5% of all affiliated match officials within Kent. We also extend our appointment process to 23 selected Referee Observers and Mentors who are on-hand today to help encourage and support the development of the appointed match officials. Congratulations to all involved, and enjoy the occasion.

Recent Winners of this Competition

The Hertfordshire FA Under 14 Girls Challenge Cup was introduced 1997-98, reflecting the growth in girls playing across the county. This was the first time there had been County Cups specifically for girls in Hertfordshire and was introduced alongside Under 12 and Under 16 competitions. Cups for the 'odd' age groups would follow from 2005-06.

The inaugural winners were Bushey Rangers who defeated Wormley Youth in that first final, however it is Watford Ladies who have been most successful in this competition, securing their four wins in just a seven year period. Stevenage Boro are next with three wins.

Hitchin Belles will be looking to add their name to the trophy for a second time, having previously won back in 2004, while Watford FC Girls will be looking for their first win in this competition, to add to the Under 16 title they collected at the start of this month.

Today’s match will be 35 minutes each way, with 10 minutes each way extra-time and kicks from the penalty mark if necessary. Teams are permitted roll-on/roll-off substitutes.

This is the 21st Final of the Hertfordshire FA Under 14 Girls Challenge Cup
