In this interactive course participants will explore emerging research in

neuroscience showing how we solve problems, create policies and assess one

another in employment and in contract compliance. Brain imaging studies will be

used to explain how policy-makers, corporate leaders, government leaders,

legislators and affirmative action, contract compliance, equal employment, and

human rights officers make decisions about the people they serve or supervise.

The session will include exercises, tools and specific strategies for increasing

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority BART Site Bus Tour ( No CEU Credits)

Skanska-Shimmick-Herzog (SSH) is a joint venture contracting team comprised of three

separate complementary general contractors formed to provide a turnkey design-build

transit company. In late 2011, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA)

awarded SSH the $772 million design-build contract for phase one of VTA’s $2.3 billion

BART extension from Warm Springs of Fremont to Berryessa of San Jose.

The bus tour will be focused primarily on the sites of the two future commuter rail

stations. The Berryessa Extension project consists of the design, construction, and future

operation of an approximate 10-mile extension of the BART system into Santa Clara

County. When passenger service begins, up to 10-car trains on frequencies of

approximately 15 minutes, will be operated during peak commute periods on two BART

lines. Passenger service is planned to start in 2018.
