Grants of $50 to $1,000 are available for projects that benefit Vancouver’s Westside
community.
Our NSG Resident Committee reviews allapplications & decides who will receivefunding.

COMMUNITY GRANTS Requirements:Grants up to $500
Projects must be sponsored by 2 or morepeople who live in different households. Applicants must live in the area shown:
The grants are for groups of neighbours or residents only; organizations cannot apply.
Some of last years projects: OrigamiWorkshop, ESL Cooking and Baking Group,Block Parties and much more!
GREEN GRANTS Requirements:Grants up to $1,000
Projects offer creative approaches toachieving the City of Vancouver’s GreenestCity Action Plan:
*Local Food: increasing local food supply.
*Climate and green buildings: reducing
energy use.*Green transportation: enabling active
transportation.
*Zero waste: increasing composting, re-use
and recycling.
*Access to nature: increasing the urban
forest, creating habitat and natural spaces.
*Clean water: conserving drinking water.*Green economy: supporting social enterpriseand greening businesses.
Applicants must live in the area shown:
Projects should foster long-term behaviour change in local residents for lasting impact.
Projects engage community members of diverse ages, abilities, economic levels andcultures
Some ideas for projects: environmental art,workshops on bees, canning and much more!

For Community & Green Grants
Build leadership strength and capacitywithin neighbourhoods;
Build a sense of belonging and inclusionby bringing neighbours together to workon a project of interest;
Recognize and embrace diversity byshowcasing talent from variouscommunity members;
Expand and share existing residents’
skills, knowledge and connections;
Build pride of neighbourhoods.
NSG PROJECT Requirements:For Community & Green Grants
Projects must adhere to City bylaws andbe socially acceptable to the majority of the neighbourhood.
Projects must occur in theneighbourhood by December 2012.
Retroactive funding (for projects thathave already occurred) is not available.
Applicants cannot profit financially fromthe project.
Applicants must agree to complete anevaluation.
