Average hard disk size is form 40 GB to 120 GB

Fairly inexpensive

Main frame

Is a big powerful , expensive computer that can support many users at the same time.

Capacity of several hundred or even thousands of PCs

Highly expensive

Macintosh ( Mac )

Is a computer , but it is not a PC . Macs have a different operating system and use their own software and hardware .

Fairly inexpensive , but usually costs more than an equivalent PC

A Laptop or

notebook

Is a lighter and more portable version of a PC or Mac that can run on batteries .

20 GB to 80 GB

Fairly inexpensive , but costs more than an equivalent PC.

Server computer

Is a central computer attached to a network where users on the network can save their files and information .

Greater than a PC , often more than 160 GB

More expensive than a PC but not as expensive as a mainframe

Personal Data

Assistant ( PDA )

Is a handheld computer that is generally used to keep track of appointments and addresses .

Much smaller than a PC – 64 MB to 8 GB .

Expensive when compared to the capacity of a PC
