Hey Key clubbers its November! The month of the best holiday!

This month they is a lot of things you can do in your community!

Go to a homeless shelter and help server a thanksgiving dinner.

Or even make cards and give someone who has changed your

life! Just saying thank you to some can make someone’s day!

Remember the true meaning of thanksgiving, its to be thankful

about all the things you have!

Governors’s Project What is this year’s project? It’s called Project Educate! PNW Key Club is joining with

Jamaica Key Club, to help schools all around Jamaica. In Jamaica you have to

pay for public school or you just don’t go at all. Our objective is “Helping to support

the development of early-childhood & primary education in the developing

country of Jamaica.” We want to raise $30,000.00 this money will go to 5

contributions:

#5 30,000 High school scholarships for 10 students across Jamaica

#4 27,050 St. Mary School (yet to be confirmed) school supplies

#3 23,050 online classroom assistance to 150 students across Jam. #2 20,050

Wakefield Primary School assistance for a new Library

#1 12,050 Mona Heights Primary School supplies & library equipment

So lets help get this project started! There is a lot you can do! Have a bake sale or

make blankets and sell them. We want to help make a difference! Like it on

Facebook and Twitter! @ project: EDUCATE. For more info go to

Icebreakers PIRATES’ GOLD: Split the group in half and make one team the “Pirates” and the

other “Coast Guards.” One person within the Pirates has the jewelry, and the object

is to get that Pirate across the floor to the other side without getting caught by

the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard has to run into the oncoming Pirates and ask

them to show what they have in their hands. The Pirates have to show the

Coast Guard what they have in their hands. If the Pirate that has the jewelry gets

across the floor without getting caught, the Pirate gets one point. If the Coast Guard

finds the Pirate with the jewelry, then they get the point. After they go through the

game once, both teams switch roles and continue the game.

LTG Elections

My term will be coming to an end as of March. During DCON 2013, the District Board

of the Pacific Northwest will be uninstalled and replaced by the 2013-2014 District

Board. Though it seemed impossible for time to fly by so quickly, time really has raced

past. I know I have made mistakes, not communicated the best, and failed as a

leader, but I also have grown. I learned to balance duty and honor, work with

people, coordinate, and pursue goals with passion. This poses a dire need for

interested applicants for the position of Lit. Gov. to represent Div. 46.. Do know, this

job is frustrating, wonderful, hard, and a joy all in one roller coaster of a term. Some

jobs the Lit. Gov. has are… 1. Travel to all Board Meetings in Washington and

Oregon. 2. Working will clubs within the division, Div. AYS currently has 11. 3.

Composing a newsletter monthly. 4. Filling out monthly reports 5. Ensuring your clubs

receive the resources necessary to function and thrive as a club. Keep clubs up to

date on District affairs. Additionally, there are many more responsibilities and

privileges. This position can be demanding but it is also doable. Run because you

have a passion for volunteering and wish to increase your volunteer horizons, do run

for this position. I will be in Spokane downtown library in December. The date is

tentatively set for the 13th or 15th. The election is something to really consider. If you

are unsure if you are qualified or have enough time, do ask me! I will be honest with

you and give you the best advice I am able! Please tell your clubs about the

elections and contact me a.s.a.p. so I can give you the information need!

Goals for 2012–13: In my final year in

Key, I have only one overarching goal –

and it can be summed up in only one word:

opportunity. What members don’t realize

is that every single person has the ability to

make a difference. Even just one person’s

initiative can spark a flame of generosity

and ingenuity. Therefore, as International

Trustee, I look to equip our members even

more accessible means to elevate club

leadership, excellence, and recognition.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH!

On Thanksgiving I will stop to give

thanks that my family is safe and

healthy, especially because I realize

that, following the tragedies of this

year, it is all too real a possibility that

they might not have been.
