NOTICE OF CHANGE OF ADDRESS

My PaPa would pick my up from elementary school faithfully on Wednesdays, so we could eat before my ice skating practice. He always made sure that family came first and has always been there for. PaPa was the rock of our family, and one of the wisest, funniest, and lovable individual I ever encountered. Words cannot express the influence he had on my life. I love my PaPa with all my heart and will miss him dearly.

Love, Tara

I have memories sitting around our dinner table with PaPa asking me all about my school work. He would recite his infamous "highways and byways" speech. After we talked seriously, I will never forget how we would tell stories, laugh and eat chicken wings or whatever PaPa wanted to eat. Recalling these memories made me realize just how much I will miss those moments. Many of you will remember Lee Cleveland as a friend, cousin, uncle, or even a father... but I will remember him as my PaPa.

Love you, Brian Lee

When God created fathers,

He made them proud and wise...

He put the light of truth

And understanding in their eyes.

He formed them in His image,

Hearts faithful, smiles bright,

Their skin a shade of evening

As it passes into night.

He have them sturdy arms

For lifting children in the air

And knees that weren't afraid to bend

In work or play or prayer.

He planned them with a passion

For the role of fatherhood...

And when the Lord had finished,

He was sure that it was good.

With gratitude for the values you taught,

The encouragement you gave,

The dream you believed,

The legacy of love you passed along...

With thankfulness for the God-given blessing you were to this

Family...we will miss you, Daddy!

Love Always, Carolyn & Brian

ObituaryMr. Lee Ellis Cleveland, 84 years old, ascended to be with the Lord on Monday,

December 5, 2011. He was born August 5 1927 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Virgie Ewing-Cleveland and Arthur Thompson.

He attended Charleston School in Tennessee and Norman Chapel School in Cleveland, Tennessee.

In 1952, he was united in marriage to Audrey Mae James and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Two children were born to this union, Carolyn Anne and Brian James.

Lee was employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital as a Pharmacy Technician for 41 faithful years. He also was a Television Repairman for friends, family, and the community for many, many years.

Lee loved the Lord and gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was an active member of Evangelical Community Christian Church, and attended church regularly and as long as he could physically.

He was a very quiet man that never complained about anything. He had a laugh that would make everyone around him laugh when they heard it. We called it the "Wheeze", and it was loud and long. Everyone knew Lee loved to eat. He talked about food all the time. If you asked him what he wanted to eat, his reply was "As long as it's good, it doesn't matter!" He cherished his family eating dinners together especially on holidays.

Lee was extremely proud of his grandchildren, who called him "PaPa", and he attended any programs and/or shows they participated in, whenever he was able, and would not hesitate to tell you about them.

He loved to help people whenever he had the chance. He called himself "The taxi" to his family and friends. There was not anywhere that he would not take someone, and sit in his care reading his Bible and wait, no matter how long. Patience was one of his most admirable qualities.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Mae James; his parents; his sisters, Nedith Beck, Geneva Gray, Willie Jo Porter-Smith, and Josephine Thompson; brother, Thead Thompson.

He is survived by his sister, Nellie Smith of Etowah, TN; brothers, Cecil and Lewis Thompson of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Gaines; son, Brian (Rachel) Cleveland; granddaughter, Tara Janine; grandson, Brian Lee; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one very special friend, Daisy Phillips.
