Class: 2nd Class Week beginning: 4th May 2020
Note from your teacher:
Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping well and having lots of fun at home.
Due to the bank holiday, there will be no work on Monday but there will be work for Tuesday - Friday instead. As
mentioned last week, I will be asking you to email me one piece of work each day – these activities will be marked
‘yes’ in the submission box. Also, feel free to email me any other pieces of work that you are working on at home or
that you feel you have worked extra hard on, I am always delighted to view your work, and send you some feedback
on it.
If you need to use your parent/ guardians’ email to send on work that is perfectly fine. In order to submit a
picture/ sound clip or document to me please ensure that you put your name, date and title of the task in the
subject of the email to me so that I know who it is and what is being submitted. I will check my emails every day
but is your responsibility to email these to me each day or as soon as you can! I am available from 9.10-2.50pm and
will try to respond to you all.
Thank you,
Ms. Kennedy [email protected]
Ms. O’ Reilly [email protected]
Mass online can be found at https://www.churchservices.tv/augustinians

Landmarks
This is the Sagrada Familia (right). It is a very famous Church in Barcelona, the second largest
city in Spain. It was started over 130 years ago, by a man named Antoni Gaudí. He spent 43
years working on it. They are still building the church today.
Food
Spanish people love to use tomatoes, peppers and garlic in their cooking. One very popular
dish is paella. It is made of rice with chicken or seafood. Spanish people often enjoy tapas
as a snack. Tapas are delicious little dishes of meat, fish, seafood and vegetables.
School
School starts at nine in the morning and finishes at five o’ clock. There is a long break in the afternoon, and many
children go home for lunch. Some people have a rest called a siesta after lunch each day.
Sport
Football teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona are famous all over the world. Camp
Nou is the football stadium for the Barcelona team.
Tourists
People from all over the world go to Spain on their holidays. They lie on the hot, sandy beaches
and enjoy swimming in the warm sea. At night, they might see a flamenco show. Flamenco is a
form of song and dance with guitar music. The dancers wear special costumes while
