Welcome to Week 9 This week the Year 6 students have some interesting news. See the back page to read about some of
the fun activities.
SCHOOL FINISHES AT 2.30pm EVERY Wednesday
Dear Parents and Guardians
Our Praise Thanksgiving and Graduation Mass today was a wonderful celebration of a very busy year together as we celebrated the achievements of the year and gave thanks for the many blessings received by all of us. Our Catholic faith is the heart of our School and so it is fitting that our final celebration together is one centred on the Eucharist and our community of faith. As always, our students are reverent participants in the Mass and are a credit to their teachers and their parents.
I also thank the many parents, grandparents and friends who were able to attend and enjoy our End of Year Concert on Monday – this too was a wonderful celebration of our year and I congratulate all of the students and particularly Mrs Murray for their fine performances!
Congratulations to our Graduating Year Six students - we wish them well as they continue their journey to secondary education and thank them too for the gift of their presence and their contributions to St Jude’s School during their time here.
Sincere thanks to all members of the St Jude’s teaching team for their commitment and caring and conscientious support to all students’ learning journeys during 2016. We are blessed to have a School team of this calibre and our School community reaps the benefits of the special gifts of each member.
And, of course, thank you to our students! All our students bring wonderfully different talents to our School and today we acknowledged these gifts in our School community. Firstly, through the Christian Living Awards, the heart and soul of our Catholic School, and secondly through the Achievement Awards, which honour the attitude and achievement that individual students bring to their year’s work.

A Christmas Prayer
Father of love and mercy, we thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to us.
As we get ready to celebrate the holy feast of Christmas,
help us to share love with others. May we live the spirit of the Christmas season each day
through the year. Help us to live always in hope and joy because of all
You have done for us. May we always remember that Jesus Christ is the true
gift of Christmas. We pray this through the Holy Spirit who guides our
hearts and our lives. Amen.
I look forward to greeting you next year as school returns on Wednesday 1st February 2017! Enjoy the holidays everyone and may the peace and joy of the Christmas season remain with you through the coming year.
God bless

The Year six students have concluded their final year of primary school and have made fond and long lasting memories. The class concluded 2016 with their final assembly, excursion, Graduation, Disco and Graduation Mass. Looking back on the year, all of the students had a defining memory from Year six and wanted to share them with you…
My most memorable moment from Year 6 was ……….
JB – when we were all having fun together. We have fun together every time we do activities.
Jaxon - winning my race at the school faction carnival. I also enjoyed the school camp because I played with all of my friends there.
Trey – at our camp when I was talking, swimming and canoeing with everyone. I also liked getting up early in the morning at camp, washing the dishes and playing all of the games.
Caitlin – when I became best friends with Chanmollika! She became my best friend when we sat on the bus together to go on our camping trip and she has been there every moment for me and I love her!
Nejini - at camp when we got to play games together and I really just enjoyed being a Year 6 student.
Noah - at Nanga Bush Camp when we all got to go on the zipline. I also liked the canoeing activities and games at camp.
Danny - our camp because we did lots of fun activities such as the canoeing and raft building.
Justin - at Nanga Bush Camp when we did all of the fun activities. The activity I liked the most was the water activities.
Lara - when I went to Camp with all my friends and went rowing! It was SO much fun getting wet! When I started rowing, I NEARLY tipped the canoe over!
Benjamin - when we went to camp and got to hang out with all my friends. We did not have to do any work and got to go on the zipline, it was scary but a ton of fun!
YEAR 6 NEWS
My second most memorable moment was when we did the canoeing and swimming in the river.
Ayden - at Nanga Bush Camp when I went first on the zipline and did a no hands and upside down move! I also loved winning the egg protector competition and beating the teachers!
Drew - helping all my friends and the school with technology when I was nominated as the 2016 Technology Committee Leader. I also enjoyed camp when I talked and played with some boys and girls in my class.
Goretty - when our Year 6 class went to camp, it was amazingly FUN. I enjoyed all the fantastic challenging games we played as a class.
Stephni - when we went to CAMP and presented our graduation assembly! I hope we all have a nice last week at Primary School!
Man-Yin - when we did an art project on Ancient Greece and made patterned paper mache vases.
Chanmollika - when I became BEST FRIENDS with Caitlin on the way to camp! Throughout Year 6 she has helped me and comforted me through my darkest moments, and is now the closest friend ever!
Adam. M - when we were doing all of the water activities at Nanga Bush Camp in term one.
Harrison - going to Nanga Bush Camp. My favourite activity on camp was when we went to the river and built our own rafts to use in the water.
