Audier & Partners Vietnam LLC
Nomination Statement
Mar 24, 2020
My name is Nicolas Audier and I am a foreign lawyer duly admitted to practice in Vietnam.
I have been extremely proud to serve as Chairman of EuroCham. Since our last AGM, our Chamber has been very active in advocating for the signing of the EVFTA and EVIPA, its approval and ratification by the EU Commission, the EU Parliament and EU Council of Europe and by the National Assembly of Vietnam. It should be approved by June 2020 and the EVFTA is expected to be implemented next July. (The EVIPA is subject to ratification by all EU member state national parliaments). As soon as the EVFTA entered into force, I will continue my involvement in the EVFTA process in establishing inter alia, key instruments to implement and monitor on the ground the agreement.
In addition to the EVFTA and EVIPA, I was also involved with the advocacy team of EuroCham to ensure that all issues of our 17 Sector Committees are raised to the Ministries and properly settled.
During the last two months, EuroCham advocacy team was on the front line to lobby on behalf of our members a proper rescue and stimulus packages, and has issued various letters, positions papers and organized meetings with Vietnamese officials to obtain an urgent response for our members facing difficulties. I would like to thank my colleagues of the executive committee and all members of EuroCham for their trust during the past years and I look forward to working with you together in the future. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards
Nicolas Audier

new BA`s.

Eurocham main initiatives to represent European investors in VN
Thomas DEBELIC Senior Representative
COMMERZBANK AG Representative Office
I would like to ask you to support my candidacy for the Executive Committee of EuroCham
Vietnam. My contribution to the Executive Committee and the EuroCham team would be an active
participation in organizing and representing our mission. I am willing to share my experiences from
18 years as an expat in the banking industry in different countries and my findings from the
respective countries macroeconomic and commercial structures and its deficiencies.
I would like to have my share in assessing and discussing operative, financial, political and
reputational risks and support the Executive Committee and the Chairman in its advocacy activities.
Contributing my spare time by honorary and unsalaried work I will attach great importance to
financial and organizational transparency towards paying members.
As a board member and chairman of different business and educational associations I gained insight
into the sometimes divergent needs and policies of its members. With my professional and personal
background I would commit to strive to be a balanced and impartial member of the Executive
Committee. I am convinced that the looming danger of European common interests drifting apart
should reinforce our unity especially in countries like Vietnam that are emerging and providing
opportunities for all of us.
Yours Sincerely,
Thomas Debelic
Gianluca FIUME President & General Director
Piaggio Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Sarah GALESKI Associate Director KPMG in Vietnam
I currently head the labour and employment practice at KPMG in Vietnam, and I have been actively
involved with EuroCham through my role as the Co-Chair of the Human Resources and Training
Committee (“HRTSC”).
As Co-Chair of the HRTSC, I have advocated EuroCham’s position on Vietnamese labour issues to
the EU Parliament and key government ministries. I have also established a women’s working group
within EuroCham which holds women’s networking events and focuses on the unique challenges
women face in the workplace.
Labour law is a pivotal issue for Vietnam at this point in its development. The EU-Vietnam Free
Trade Agreement (“EVFTA”) requires Vietnam to fulfill various labour law commitments and
Vietnam has recently transformed its Labour Code. My expertise as a labour lawyer will be
invaluable to the Executive Committee, Chamber members and Vietnamese partners in supporting
the implementation of the EVFTA and in assisting members to adapt their businesses and practices
to the requirements of the new Labour Code. KPMG’s network of companies in every member state
in the EU will also be a valuable resource for strengthening EU-Vietnam business relationships and
for ensuring the effective implementation of the EVFTA.
Roos IJSENDIJK
Lawyer / Consultant United Nations in Vietnam
I am a lawyer from the Netherlands. Since January 2019 I have worked for the United Nations in
Hanoi as an independent consultant on policy and legislation related to gender issues, fundamental
rights and the position of women in society and in business. In that role it has been a pleasure to get
familiar with Vietnamese culture, policy and legislation, with an open mind but of course drawing
on my European values. Notably, as an academic I specialized in EU rule of law and fundamental
rights.
Last year I have also had the pleasure to become acquainted with the European Chamber of
Commerce in Vietnam and the Women’s Working Group in particular. It has enthused me to take on
a more active role in the European business community in Vietnam and I believe I could contribute
as a member of the Executive Committee. If elected, I could provide a diversified perspective
because through my work I engage mostly with public sector – the Vietnamese Government as well
as the diplomatic community in Hanoi – and with other relevant entities such as VCCI and
organizations like the Women’s Union, NGO’s and civil society.
The timing now is pertinent considering the recent ratification of the EVFTA, and its strong focus on
the social and environmental sustainability chapters. I would like to take the opportunity provided by
the momentum of this agreement, to emphasize that in the public as well as the private sphere, one of
Europe’s greatest values is the principle of equality and the empowerment of women. I hope to be
able to make a contribution to the promotion of these principles in EuroCham as a member of the
Committee.
In sum, I would be a valuable attribute to EuroCham’s Executive Committee because I am
knowledgeable on Vietnamese as well as EU law and practice, my work and network in Hanoi is
different from most other EuroCham members, and I can bring a young and female perspective to
the table. For these reasons, I hope you will consider my candidacy.
Sincerely,
Roos IJsendijk

Executive Committee for 2020-2021. I have previous experience of the position after replacing our
Nordcham representative during 2019.
I have seen how efficiently EuroCham is advocating the interests of our members, but I feel that the

more members to represent us.

participating in various events and meetings we have with authorities, as well through sector
committee work, which I would like to add to my activities additional to the Executive Committee

Olivier ROUSSELET Country Manager
BNP Paribas – Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh City, Tuesday, 3rd March 2020
Dear Executive Committee of the EuroCham,
Following the path of my two predecessors, Luc Cardyn and Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort, it is a
great honor to submit my candidacy to Eurocham Executive Committee.
As you may know, BNP Paribas is the largest financial institution in the Eurozone, with 4 domestic
markets in Europe: France, Belgium (BNP Paribas Fortis), Luxembourg (BGL BNP Paribas), and
Italy (BNL), and we clearly see Europe as our home turf.
Although I only recently moved to Vietnam, I have spent 26 years of my professional life in Asia, of
which the past 12 years in Taiwan where I served at the Board of Director of the ECCT (European
Chamber of Commerce – Taiwan, the 2nd oldest European Chamber in Asia with 1000 active
members), as Vice Chairman for 10 years and Treasurer for 7 years. I also chaired two times the
ECCT’s very dynamic Banking Committee for a total period of 6 years.
I will be delighted to continue contributing to various advocacy works and promote European
business interests, in Vietnam, at a very exciting and promising time with the upcoming enforcement
of the EU-Vietnam FTA.
If I can join the Executive Board of the EuroCham, I hope to be able to keep on bringing my
experience to the benefit of EuroCham members.
Truly yours,
Olivier Rousselet
Sérgio Pereira da SILVA Founder and Managing Partner
S+A Vietnam
Sérgio Pereira da Silva should be considered for EuroCham’s Executive Member, due to the facts
listed here below.
Sérgio has been living in Vietnam for the past 9 years, having established two companies and one
Representative Office of a Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the country. Furthermore, Sérgio
would be the first Portuguese to become EuroCham’s Executive member, adding another EU
member state national to those already represented in the Executive member list. Sérgio has also
been an active participant and supporter of EuroCham’s activities, ranging from advocacy, by
personally going to the European Parliament in Brussels together with EuroCham’s representatives
and intervening on behalf of European Businesses, to event and knowledge dissemination within his
own network. Finally, Sérgio has established a close relationship with key Portuguese decision
makers, such as the Portuguese Government Trade & Investment Agency (AICEP), Portuguese
Ambassador to Vietnam, fellow Portuguese Chambers’ Chairmans, Portugal’s Chamber of
Commerce and multiple Portuguese business associations across several sectors, as well as, a few of
the country’s largest companies.
All of the above mentioned reasons have made Sérgio the go-to contact for Portuguese businesses,
associations and institutions that have an interest in the Vietnamese market. Moreover, Sérgio’s
network in Asia extends far beyond Vietnam and Southeast Asia’s borders. Thus, it is our belief that
Mr. Sérgio Pereira da Silva would be a value adding asset to Eurocham’s Executive Member list.
