The employer contributions paid towards your pension increased with effectfrom 1 April 2019 from 1438 to 2068 The increase of 63 was centrallyfunded and so not paid directly by your employer As a result of thisarrangement the payments are not included in any of the total employer annualcontribution figures on your statement However the value of employercontributions has no impact on the standard benefits as quoted within yourstatement Information on how your NHS Pension lump sum and survivor benefits havebeen calculated is available on the NHS Pensions website

How are your records updated

Each year your pensions record isupdated to the 31 March frominformation sent to us by youremployer

This year were pleased to announcethat we have received a similarnumber of annual updates comparedto previous years which is a greatachievement from employers whohave been diligent in ensuringyour records are updated during theCoronavirus (COVID-19) pandemiclockdown period

This means that your TRSABS should be updated to 31 March 2020 (31 March2019 for General Practitioners) If your record hasnrsquot been updated since lastyear it will be for one of the following reasons

Your employer did not send the annual pension update to update yourrecordYour record was updated after the data was taken to produce yourstatementYour annual pension update requires more information before it can beplaced on your record

If your record falls under one of the above reasons your pension record shouldbe updated ready for the mid-year refresh of the TRSABS and will be availablefor you to view in mid-December 2020

Unable to view your NHS Pension information

Your NHS Pension information might not be available if youre bull not a member of the NHS Pension Schemebull a new member of the NHS Pension Scheme with less than one yearrsquos servicebull already receiving an NHS Pension There may be an issue calculating your NHS Pension using the automated

system Please contact your employer for an estimate of your NHS Pensionbenefits

Member contribution rates have remained thesame in 201920 as they were in the previousthree years

A recent review has confirmed that rates willremain the same until 31 March 2021

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) asked the NHS PensionSchemersquos Scheme Advisory Board (SAB) to review member contributionsThey considered a number of options including whether the rate payableshould be determined using whole-time equivalent or actual earnings the rangeand number of tiers and whether tier boundaries should be amended to avoidpay awards placing individuals in higher contribution tiers The SAB decided that the existing contribution structure should be kept thesame for a further two years until 31 March 2021 and they continue to consideroptions for membership contributions beyond this
