WORLD BOOK DAY & SCIENCE WEEK World Book Day is currently in full swing! Everyone’s enjoying the day and the costumes are amazing!

Thank you to everyone that has already attended the Book Fair, it is on again after school today and tomorrow morning from 8:30 to 9:00am. I will let you know how much the school has made in

profit to spend on new books in next week’s newsletter.

SCIENCE WEEK

To celebrate Science Week next week we had the Mad Professor in to get the children excited about Science. He

taught the children about gravity, the components of fire and even set a glove on

fire! He carried out scientific demonstrations including trapping someone

in a bubble!

Safeguarding I am very concerned to hear that some of our children are using the APP ‘Tik Tok’ and are potentially putting themselves

at risk. What is the minimum age for TikTok app?

13 is the minimum age according to TikTok’s terms and conditions.

What should parents be concerned about? By default all accounts are public so anyone on the app can see what your child shares.

Users can like or react to a video, follow an account or send messages to each other. There is the risk that strangers will be able to directly contact children on the app.

Children may be tempted to take risks to get more of a following or likes on a video so it’s important to talk about what they share and with whom.

Further information is available here: https://www.net-aware.org.uk/networks/tiktok/
