How can we contribute to maintaining the Critical Light
Threshold at the Sliding Spring Observatory by helping our
community take specific steps to reduce light pollution.
How to reduce light pollution at night-Kiarra
-Turn off light at night time
- Put timers on light before it gets to dark
- Put night lights instead of bright lights for night time if
scared of the dark
-Turn off lights at school of a night
- Put sensor lights in places where needed.
Canteen
Tags and Tops for Charity.
At the last P&C meeting we decided to place three boxes
outside the canteen to collect bottle tops, ring pulls and
bread tags for a few different charities. If anyone would like
to collect these at home and bring them in, they would be
helping the needy obtain wheelchairs and prosthetics and
also help Ronald McDonald House continue helping families.
Pie Drive
The canteen is having a pie drive. Delivery will be on the last
day of term, September 27th. There is an order form in this
week’s newsletter. If anyone would like a copy of the order
form, they are available at the canteen. If anyone would like
to help with sorting the delivery on 27th September from
7am, your time would be very much appreciated.
Volunteers
We are always in need of volunteers in the canteen. If you
would like to help, come down to the canteen and see us and
we can work out what time and day suits you best. No
experience necessary.
Rocky’s Café
Just in case you haven’t heard, Rocky’s Café is open every
day. Pop in and have a delicious ‘Barista Coffee’ or other
yummy beverage or why not grab a take away on your way
past!
