Regional Swimming Congratulaons to Troy on another personal best at the Regional Swimming Carnival at Homebush last Tuesday. A great achievement and you should be very proud. Sporng Achievements Congratulaons to all our students who have trialled to represent the Hawkesbury in a number of sports. The following students have been selected. Alexis: Girls Football (soccer), Nicholas: Boys Football (soccer), Jayden: Cricket; Brodie: Rugby League and Jack: Tennis. I will keep you posted on their future progress. Best of luck for the up coming compeons and congratulaons on this great achievement. Dental Check ups We are very fortunate to have NSW Health provide FREE check ups in our school early next term. Notes will be distributed this week and need to be returned by Thursday 11th April for your child to receive a free check up. Further informaon is included in the newsleer. Easter Hat Parade and Cross Country Our annual Easter Hat Parade and Cross Country will be held on Friday 12th April (last day of term). Students will be making something to carry or wear as part of Peer Support. You are very welcome to make a hat at home for your child to wear if you wish. The Parade will start at approx. 10am, followed by a morning tea with your child. Hot Cross Buns will be available to pre order from the canteen as well as Tea and Coffee. The Cross Country will start aſter recess with a non compeve fun run for our K-2 students. Compeve races for 8/9 year old’s, 10, 11 & 12/13 will start at approximately 12 noon and in that order. We are hoping to complete the compeve events by 1.30pm. Easter Raffles & Donaons Raffle ckets will be sent home in the next few days for our Easter Raffle. Tickets are $1.00 each. Clearly labelled cket stubs and money need to be returned to the P&C box by Thursday 11th April. Any Easter donaons for prizes would be greatly appreciated and can be delivered to the box in the front office. First prize is a family pass to the Easter Show. Welcome baby Adams Daisy our school counsellor and Brent welcomed a beauful baby boy named Carter into the world last Tuesday. We wish them all the very best in this life changing experience. Debang Camp Our very cold debaters arriving at Debang Camp on Monday. Argue with style!

Meet the Teacher

I hope you found the Meet the Teacher interviews a worth while experience. We seemed to have a better

than usual response. Our next interviews are not scheduled until the start of Term 3. Please remember, if

you would like to discuss your child with their teacher, please make a mutually agreeable time.

Regional Swimming

Congratulations to Troy on another personal best at the Regional Swimming Carnival at

Homebush last Tuesday. A great achievement and you should be very proud.

Sporting Achievements

Congratulations to all our students who have trialled to represent the Hawkesbury in a number of sports. The following

Dental Check ups

We are very fortunate to have NSW Health provide FREE check ups in our school early next term. Notes will be distributed

this week and need to be returned by Thursday 11th April for your child to receive a free check up. Further information is

included in the newsletter.

Easter Hat Parade and Cross Country

Our annual Easter Hat Parade and Cross Country will be held on Friday 12th April (last day of term). Students will be making

something to carry or wear as part of Peer Support. You are very welcome to make a hat at home for your child to wear if you

Raffle tickets will be sent home in the next few days for our Easter Raffle. Tickets are $1.00 each.

Welcome baby Adams

Daisy our school counsellor and Brent welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Carter

into the world last Tuesday. We wish them all the very best in this life changing

experience.

Staff from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Oral Health Service will be offering a free dental

assessment at Hobartville Public School in Term 2 on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th May. On this day, all

students, with Parental/Carer consent, will receive a limited dental check-up by dental staff. If you wish

for your child to receive this free dental assessment please complete the consent form sent home on

Wednesday 20th March giving all necessary details. Then return the form to your child's class teacher by

Friday 5 April. Consent must be given by completing the consent form. No child without consent will

have the dental assessment, however, they will be engaged in a presentation on healthy eating and oral

hygiene. A copy of the School Oral Health Assessment information and consent forms have been

included in this week's newsletter.

School Oral Health Assessment

Consent Form

Your child can have a free dental assessment at school by dental staff from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Oral Health Service. If you want your child to have this dental assessment at school, PLEASE COMPLETE THE CONSENT FORM ON THE BACK OF THIS LETTER AND RETURN IT TO SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. On this day, your child will receive a limited dental check-up, the dental staff will not be giving a full dental examination, taking x-rays, giving injections or providing any treatment on your child’s teeth.

Your child will bring home a letter to let you know the outcome of the check-up and what you may need to do next for their dental care.

All information is strictly confidential (see below)

Privacy protection guidelines for personal health information collected from the School Oral Health Assessment Program

The school your child/children attend will collect the completed consent forms, and pass them to the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Oral Health Service. In addition to obtaining your consent to deliver the check-up for your child, this form will provide information which will be used for:

Safely providing the initial check-up for your child at school

Registering your child with our oral health information system

Placing your child on the appropriate dental waiting list if required

May be used to collect epidemiological data for research

This information is regarded as personal information as defined in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

The intended recipients of the information are the health care providers, who conduct the dental check-up at the School and health workers involved in the management of the oral health information system.

The supply of your child’s information and consent for a dental risk assessment is voluntary. Any person who has authorised access to health information is bound by a duty of confidentiality. The

privacy and confidentiality of the personal information held about your child will be respected. You are entitled to see information held about your child by Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health

District. You have the right to correct and amend personal information held about your child. Further information about privacy protection is available in the NSW Health Privacy Management Plan

at: http://www0.health.nsw.gov.au/policies/pd/2005/pdf/PD2005_554.pdf. Your school is to be regarded as the agency collecting this information and Nepean Blue Mountains

Local Health District, PO Box 63, Penrith, 2750 is to be regarded as the principal agency that is to hold this information.
