What a big week we had last week for all students and staff. EOTC week was fantastic, and I must say a huge big thank you to all parents/caregivers who willingly gave their time to help with the various activities including Year 6 camp, Year 5 overnight stay, whole school trip to Bluff and the in house activi- ties at school. Also thank you to all the families who paid the extra money for the Education Outside the Classroom week activities. We do appreciate these funds as our Operations Grant does not cover everything. Check out the pho- tos of the year 6 camp on the next page. Great to see lots of pirates and princesses at the PTA disco recently. Hope everyone enjoyed the night and it was a great venue too. Check out the column to the left to keep up to date with what is happening around our school. Note the Sexual Education Night for year 5/6 students and parents/caregivers on Thursday November 20th. This will be an informative, friendly forum for open discussion regarding the changes that our students go through in puberty. Tomorrow our year 6’s are attending their chosen high schools for an orienta- tion morning. Please did not send them back to school. They can go home when their visit is completed. School Uniforms: Enclosed with the newsletter is the information sheet regard- ing uniforms for 2015. Great to see some students wearing it already, they look very smart. Southern Zone Soccer Tournament: Well done to our teams that participated in the games yesterday. Great to see everyone having an enjoyable time and interacting with our southern zone neighbours. Until next time, enjoy the weekend and hopefully some sunshine. Kia Kaha Andrea and Staff TISBURY

Ten Basic Principles of Good Parenting:

2. You cannot be too loving. When it comes to genuine expressions of warmth and affection, you cannot love your child too much. It is simply not possible to spoil a child with love. What we often think of as the product of spoiling a child is never the result of showing a child too much love. It is usually the consequence of giving a child things in place of love — things like leniency, lowered expec-tations or material

possessions.
