WELCOME

Welcome back to Arts a Go Go! and a warm welcome to new families. I was lucky to get some decent sun while on holiday. I hope you did too somewhere along the way! Here’s a nice bright background for you in case not. ☺

Welcome back to our fabulous teachers, especially Lisa Kelly who has returned from Canada and will once again be teaching over in Tawa, along side Amalia. Reminders for a Smooth Start to the TermReminders for a Smooth Start to the TermReminders for a Smooth Start to the TermReminders for a Smooth Start to the Term

*With classes other than Little Mozarts and “4 and 5

year old Intro Classes”, parents and siblings do not

stay in the room where instruction is taking place

beyond the first day of term. Students’ confidence

and their willingness to take risks can be affected if

they feel people are watching them, and it may not

be your child who is affected. On the second to last

day of terms 1 and 2, there will be “parent viewing”

day, where parents and family have the

opportunity to observe the classes in action and

students have a chance to have an audience.

* If your child is in a two hour Saturday combo class, please pack a drink and a healthy snack for them,

as they will be given a short refueling break during

the session.

* Clothing should be comfortable and easy to move in. NOT skirts unless they are wearing leggings or

shorts underneath. Intro class students are welcome

to wear fairy and ballet outfits!

Major Minors and Harmonic Minors Children’s Choirs

The Major Minors Children’s choir is a non-auditioned children’s community choir whose purpose is to help children have fun and improve their singing in a group setting. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons at the Spot. For further information please contact Joanne on 526-3091 or [email protected]. You can also check out their website at majorminors.instantencore.com (Enquire about auditions for the extension choir “The Harmonic Minors”.)

Traditional karate is a way of life, a way of being. The purpose of establishing Seido Karate was to

teach what its founder, Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, felt was the true essence of karate: the training of

body, mind, and spirit together in order to realise the fullness of human potential.

Seido Karate seeks to develop in each student a 'non-quitting' spirit. No matter what the obstacle or

difficulty -- emotional, physical, financial -- we want students to feel empowered and not be overcome

by any of these problems. The sincere practice of karate can impress this idea into the spirit. This is

the modern interpretation of the bushido spirit of the samurai.
