NWEA TESTING UPDATE

Over the past few days (September 19 and 20) many schools experienced interruptions while giving the NWEA MAP Growth test. During this issue, we could not log in and manage test sessions. In addition, there were numerous problems trying to stay logged in which resulted in many students getting “kicked out” of a test, so they were unable to finish. Thankfully, some students could complete testing. We apologize for this stressful disruption during testing.

The NWEA testing team of engineers made significant progress in determining the root cause and solution. However, on Wednesday, the company recommended all schools avoid testing on Thursday, September 21. We will resume testing on Monday, September 25. A copy of the revised testing schedule is attached.

PICTURE DAY

Picture day for all students in Preschool – Grade 8 will be Thursday, October 5.

ANY AND ALL INTERESTED BAND STUDENTS

If you are interested in joining band or orchestra, it's not too late! I recommend going straight to the Eckroth store in Roseville (3065 Centre Pointe Dr, Suite #1 Roseville, MN 55113), tell them you're interested in joining band or orchestra at ST. PASCAL'S, and they will be able to do a tryout with you! Eckroth is a great company with fantastic rental options. They will be able to help you out with everything you need!

I hope to see all of you in band or orchestra here at St. Pascal's!

Band/Orchestra Director

The School Store is an opportunity for students to replace and supplement their own school supplies, while also preventing a trip to the store by their families. Basic items include pencils, pens, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, markers, and folders. Some fun items like pencil pouches, bracelets, pencil sharpeners, fun erasers, scented markers, or notepads may also be offered. Prices range from 50¢ to $3.00.

The School Store is self-funded. In the past its profits were used to support the monthly “Caught Doing Good” prize drawings, miscellaneous teacher classroom needs/wants, the Summer Reading Program Ice Cream party, all school student treats, and bus costs for end of the year field trips. Each student is also given a certificate to pick out a prize during their birthday month.

The School Store is a great place for students to practice their decision-making skills, as well as using and counting money.

The school takes donations of basic school supplies. Please contact Barb Odhiambo at [email protected] if you have a donation.
