Word StudyWord StudyWord StudyWord Study Our word study test will be this Friday. Last week, we focused on the meaning of the sort. This week, we will develop a knowledge of vocabulary and write sentences that reflect the meaning of the words. Tests will be given every two weeks on the correct spelling and sort.

Studies. Our first S.S. Test will be on Friday. Please study S.S. Journal with your child, nightly. They will need to know the 3 vocabulary words and the

boat notes for the test.

In Science, we will continue our study on the physical properties with magnetism and density activities.

Check your child’s planner nightly for possible WIL’s

(what I learned = a mini quiz).

In reading last week, we read Gleam and Glow. and used it to identify and explain the roles and functions of character's impact on the plot. Later in the week, we introduced different forms of third-person points of view in stories.

In writing, we began developing a personal narrative, as well as, understanding and using irregular and active verbs.

This week, we will read The Stranger and use it to describe incidents that advance the story and explain how each foreshadows future events.

In writing, we will continue drafting and creating a final copy for our personal narrative. Students will use a writer's checklist to make sure that previously taught conventions are applied correctly.

In math this week we will represent addition and subtraction of decimals using models. Then we will be solving word problems. Tutoring begins Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. Expect homework on Tuesday-Thursday

nights.
