Cast and Cure Film

Cast and Cure (C2) is a patent pending decorative coating process that integrates “casting” and “curing” techniques to form a consistent high quality surface that can include ultra high gloss, matte and holographic finishes on a variety of substrates. This effect can be created in both sheet fed and web (flexo and gravure) environments. C2 is an excellent application for the decorative print market and can be incorporated with anti-counterfeiting features. Cast and Cure is also environmentally friendly. By using Ultraviolet inks and coatings there are no undesirable and harmful VOC’s and in addition it can make packages more recyclable by elimi-nating the laminated metallized films used in traditional holographic processes. The most significant benefit is this is all achieved at a fraction of traditional costs.

The Sheet Fed Casting Unit is uniquely designed to be retrofit into many different types of printing heads. This unit is available in the 30 and 40 inch wide formats and is rated at 10,000 sheets per hour. Features included on the sheet fed casting unit are: • Quick and easy material handling device, which allows less down time and maximizes the cost savings. • Edge guide detection system ensuring a smooth rewind of the film, allowing multiple uses.• Wide range of material (80-400g/m2) including plastics and synthetics • The ability to automatically skip the undesirable shim lines• Registration capabilities for security and decorative functions

The web casting units can be manufactured and installed on a wide range of equipment. Narrow and wide web applica-tions are available. Each of these units are custom built to fit the equipment of the individual user. These units are rated to the speed of the existing equipment to ensure a smooth implementation, without hindering the equipment’s current productivity. The Cast and Cure process can be ap-plied to a wide range of materials including:• Pressure sensitive labels• Paper and paper board• Plastic and tube materials• Shrink and heat seal films

The Cast and Cure film is available in a variety of patterns including High Gloss, Matte, and Holographic images. The casting film is the focal point for the Cast & Cure process. The abil-ity to reuse the film multiple times shows the true cost savings associated with this unique process. Custom films are available upon request allowing you to differentiate your image from others in the marketplace. This film is conveniently inventoried and available by Breit Technologies LLC to ensure quick and efficient delivery times. • Registration system allows for auto skipping of the shim lines associated with Holography• Custom shim creation and the ability to key back to printed graphics

Visual Impact

Cast and Cure is environmentally conscious, helping printers meet the ever increasing demand for “green” processes. The use of ultraviolet inks and coatings elimi-nates the undesirable and harmful VOC’s associated with similar processes. C2 makes packages more recyclable by eliminating the laminated metallized films used in traditional holographic board materials. The Casting film is reusable and fully recyclable therefore reducing the overall cost and Carbon Footprint.

Cast and Cure is an excellent process for creating a cost effective visual impact to help a customer’s product stand out among the competition. C2 can be used as a spot ap-plication to accent a specific item within a printed piece, or used as an overall effect to grab and hold the customers attention.

The ability to use the Cast & Cure process in a variety of design applications makes the possibilities endless. C2 allows the designer to accent individual areas within a production piece, or use it as an overall application to highlight a package for greater visual impact. Spot, flood and custom applications give consumers the flex-ibility of design that suit their individual needs.

Cost EffectivenessCast and Cure is the most cost effective method of reproducing a holographic effect that is available today. The reusability of the Casting films provide exponential cost savings that make the process significantly more attractive when compared to lamination or hot and cold foil stamping.
