NEP 2 BUSINESS ENGLISH OUTLINE AND ASSESSMENT

OVERVIEWPre-requisite:

Attained a minimum 60% final grade in NEP 1Contact hours: 60 hours over 10 weeks (3 sessions/week, 2 hours/session)

NOTE: Students must attain a minimum of 60% final grade to move to the next level.Teachers from both programs will prepare mid-term and final exams covering listening, speaking, reading and writing and they will become part of the NEP testbank. Test format should mirror as closely as possible the IELTS format. The exams prepared by the teachers may be used in whole or in part as the final evaluation for the course.Mid-term exam (conducted in Week 5) Topics to be covered: In Company Units 1-8Format: Listening (20 minutes), Speaking (5 minutes)Final exam (conducted after Week 10)Topics to be covered: In Company Units 9-20Format: Listening (30 minutes), Speaking (5-7 minutes)BUSINESS ENGLISH OUTLINETeachers can pace the lessons and supplement their own material/activities according to the needs of the class, but need to ensure the required units are covered. At least 6 sessions are to be dedicated to IELTS-style practice to prepare students for their Mid-term and Final exams.Please also take note of highlighted areas for better class preparation. The highlighted activities are strongly recommended in your sessions.
