The growth rate of services sector in the GDP of India is forecast at 7 percent in the year 2014-15 against 6.8 percent in 2013-14. The share of services in GDP has increased from 57.5 percent in 2010-11 to 59.9 percent in 2013-14 and this is expected to increase further. The contribution

of services in the development of Central NCR has also been significant and the private sector has played a significant role in the emergence of Gurgaon –Manesar and Noida-Greater Noida as regions of growth. Gurgaon is the home of nearly 550 companies including 290 fortune 500 ones and Noida- Greater Noida is recognized as one of the best cities in the NCR, is the home of IT, ITes, media & entertainment companies and education. This has led to increase in population of Gurgaon- Manesar and Noida- Greater Noida to 10.42 lac and 9.74 lac respectively as per census 2011. Proximity to the national capital has been responsible for planned development of these 2 regions.

With the objective to enhance and strengthen the attractiveness of these 2 regions for unrivalled growth and expansion of services sector in the coming years, NAREDCO is organizing a Conference on 'Preferred Destination for Commercial Real Estate' with a focus on 'Gurgaon- Manesar and Noida- Greater Noida'. Office space is witnessing increase in demand from ITes companies and the key growth drivers for office space development and organized retail shall be highlighted by experts. Strengthening the infrastructure and implementing the smart city concept are expected to be major pull factors for commercial real estate and how to make this happen shall be discussed at the Conference. Global investors are also being attracted to CRE more than ever before.

In order to enrich the deliberations ,the concerns of commercial real estate relating to direct and indirect taxation and expectations from the union budget 2015-16 and how to make the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS) the preferred vehicle of investment for small investors in large real estate portfolios shall be deliberated. For preparing the commercial real estate developers migration to Ind AS effective from 2016-17 based on International Financial Reporting Standards, professional experts shall present the road map for smooth transition at the Conference.

With participants drawn from the world of real estate development, including those engaged in commercial real estate, marketing, finance and taxation, urban planners and architects, smart technology providers and other stake holders, the Conference provides an opportunity for brain storming the strategy to strengthen the appeal of these 2 areas for strengthening and expanding the base of services sector.
