GGAMEAME – – Turkey put together
Procedure
First of all the teacher has to discuss turkey parts with the pupils. The teacher
shows a turkey and its parts and introduces the words with flashcards.
Game: Divide the class into two teams. This can be done by numbering off by 1´s
and 2´s. As the children say their number, have them put that number of
fingers up to remember to which group they belong.
Give each player a turkey part. Each team should have enough parts to
complete a turkey.
Have all the players on each team line up behind a starting line with their
turkey part.
On the signal “GO!” the first player in each line runs up and puts his/her
turkey part on a base and names the turkey part correctly. Then he/she
runs back and touches the hand of the next team member. This continues
until all members of each team were allowed to run to the base and the
turkey is complete. If the turkey is not put together correctly, the last
member of each team needs to rearrange it so that it will look like a turkey.
The first team which has completed the turkey and all team members
standing in a line is the winner.
The teacher plays the game with the pupils.
A variation could be:
to write the name of the turkey parts on the back of the cards. The pupils
have to put the turkey parts together correctly by reading the words.
