    Parent/Guardian Program Assurances

I understand that MVPS-LA is an Honors program with high expectations and I seek to provide

my student with a rigorous education.

I understand that MVPS-LA will require an average of 6 hours a day, 5 days a week of school

work (in other words, a full-time high school schedule).

I understand that students need to maintain a C or higher in all courses to maintain enrollment.

I understand that MVPS-LA must approve course load if requested courses differ from full-time.

A full-time student is enrolled in 6 courses.

I understand that while licensed teachers teach the courses, I must be involved in helping my

student develop beneficial time management strategies and be involved in overseeing weekly

    student work.

I understand that parents and students need to check their own e-mail daily and reply to any

    teacher e-mails when requested.

I understand that MVPS-LA requires students to attend and participate in live class sessions.

I understand that if my student needs to be absent for a live class session, that I will call or e-

mail the teacher from my own personal email account (not the student e-mail) prior to the

absence. Excessive absences will result in administrative action.

I understand that any and all durable educational materials provided by MVPS-LA are on loan

and will be reclaimed by the school. I will not write in or deface any educational materials, or a

    replacement fee may be incurred.

I understand that graduation from a high school other than MVPS-LA will require me to be

responsible for determining my own students path to graduation. (All districts have different

    requirements).

I understand that MVPS-LA strives to develop Core Values in students in all that we do. The

Core Values are integrity, perseverance, communication, inquiry and reflection.

I understand that MVPS-LA focuses on positive, supportive relationships in which we embrace

and recognize all of our talents.

I recognize that MVPS-LA focuses on nothing but the best or excellence at every level.

I celebrate the fact that the entire MVPS-LA community is 100% committed to educating our

    children.

I understand that it is my responsibility to secure Internet service from an Internet service

    provider.

I understand that I need to check the My Grade button in each Blackboard course on a weekly

basis to monitor my students grades.

I understand that MVPS-LA is a program within a public school and that my student may not be

enrolled in any other public school without a dual enrollment agreement being established with

MVPS-LA and the other public school.

I understand that MVPS-LA is a program within a public school and follows the Kansas health

    and immunization guideline requirements.

I understand that MVPS-LA is a program within a public school. My student is required to

participate in the Kansas State assessments, meet grade level proficiency and complete the

    audit to maintain enrollment.

I attest that I am a resident of Kansas, proof of residence and address submitted are the same.

I understand there is a $100.00 annual enrollment fee.

I understand that it is my option to withdraw my student from a course prior to the semester

drop dates if my student is not likely to pass with a C or better by the end of the semester. If a

course is not dropped by these dates, the student will receive whatever grade they have earned

    that semester.

o Fall semester drop date is prior to November 15 o Spring semester drop date is prior to April 15

I understand that my student must maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher in ALL courses in order to earn

    college credit.
