- From the results above, most of my sample were females aged 15-17. However, there was still a substantial amount of males in my sample size. Therefore, most of the results given are based on individuals aged 15-17-the target audience I plan to appeal my music magazine to.

- From the results above, it is evident that the most popular genre is Pop, with Hip-Hop, R’N’B and Other(which was Dance and Techno) following closely behind. From this, it can be suggested that the majority of the sample like these genres as the lyrics in songs from these genres are relatable, especially in pop. This is seen in the media, with pop artists such as Justin Bieber appealing to girls aged 14-18 who are into fashion, their social life, and the internet. Parallels can be drawn between the data and stereotypes of preferences in music of teenagers.

- From the results above, it is evident that the sample like listening to music on the internet the most, and like listening to music on a MP3 Player(Other) the least. From this, it can be suggested that listening to music on the internet is preferred as you can have a variety of songs- this links to the fact that the sample preferred Pop Music, as this genre is significant in the music industry and there are always a variety of pop songs on the music charts.

- From the results above, it is evident that the sample like listening to music for 1-6 hours the most, which is a large amount of time spent on listening to music weekly. This adheres to the representation of youth spending a lot of their time listening to music, usually while doing something else, i.e. revising and walking to school.

From the results above, it is evident that the majority of the sample buy magazine once a month. These results imply that the majority of my sample (aged 15-17) buy magazine monthly as there is more information on music, therefore there are more things to read about, compared to weekly or fortnightly. This suggests that individuals aged 15-17 like to read about information spontaneously, rather than reading about similar music information.

From the results above, it is evident that a vast majority of the sample would spend £1.00-£2.00 on a magazine as the majority of the sample are unemployed students, which will probably be considered as a reasonable amount . This acts as a guideline for the price of my music magazine as the majority of the sample are individuals that are included in my target audience.

From the results above, it is evident that the main things that the sample think should be on a front cover of a music magazine are an image of a music artist and headlines. These are predictable as these are the codes and conventions that are on most magazines. This shows that these aspects of a magazine should definitely be on my music magazine.

OVERALL ANALYSIS Overall, these results conform to the dominant

ideologies of preferences in music within the age group of 15-17 whereby music plays a big role in their life, as majority of the sample listen to music 1-6 hours a week, with the mainstream genres such as Pop and Hip Hop being preferred overall. This makes it easier for me to make a magazine due to using these results as well as resources such as other music magazines.
