I handed out my music

magazine questionnaire

evenly, I gave it to 50%

males and 50% females.

This makes my results a

lot more reliable and not

very bias.

From my collected data, I can see that pop

music is the most popular music choice in the

selection of people that filled out my

questionnaire. There was an equal amount of

preference for Indie music, Rock music and Rap

music whereas Classical music had no interest

from any of my respondents.

The collected data reveals that ‘Q’ magazine

was the most popular magazine to read within

the respondents to my questionnaire.

‘KERRANG!’ and ‘NME’ were equally favoured by

the respondents, ‘UNCUT’ was only favoured by

10% of my respondents, whereas the least

favourite magazine to read, with 0% interest

was ‘MOJO’.

For the music magazine I have to create, I asked

my respondents which of the 5 mastheads they

prefer the most, and would catch their eye and

intrigue them to read my magazine, I found the

most preferred masthead is ‘PULSE’, but ‘TUNE’

and ‘HITS’ also received an interest from my

respondents. The mastheads ‘LYRIC’ and ‘UBFM’

received no interest from any respondents.

For this question I asked my respondents to

select a slogan to be featured on the front cover

of my magazine, the most preferred slogan was

‘Hits and the juicy bits’, I personally also like this

slogan and it could possibly match the masthead

‘HITS’, it’s also very catchy. All of the remaining

slogans also received interest from my

respondents.

The collected data shows that 60% of my

respondents would pay anything from

£1.50 to £2.50 for a music magazine, this

could be because they are young and

maybe couldn’t afford to pay huge

amounts. The other 40% would pay

between £2.60 and £3.50 for a music

magazine, no interest was shown in the

higher prices.

After reviewing my results I can see that

some of my respondents would prefer to

see either a ‘MALE ARTIST’ a ‘FEMALE

image, whereas a ‘MALE GROUP’ was a little

less popular and a ‘FEMALE GROUP’ had the

least amount of interest from my

respondents.

By looking at the data I collected, the most

come under the ‘OTHER’ category, the

artist that was listed and seemed the most

popular was ‘JUSTIN BIEBER’. All other

artist had interest from the responders

except for ‘NICKI MINAJ’ who had no

interest from any responders.

My collected data shows that my

respondents would rather read an

‘Interview With Artists’ than anything

else. Some respondents chose more than

one section that would encourage them,

there was interest from each responder

for an option listed, nobody such ‘Other’.

This gives me an idea of what would get

peoples attention more and what would

interest the readers when I create my

own music magazine.

Looking at my data, I can see that the

most popular article that my

responders like to read in a magazine is

the ‘1st Person Interview’ along with

‘3rd Person Interviews’. No responders

suggested any other articles and

showed interested in most that were

listed, this gives me a slight idea on

what to include in my music magazine to

keep people interested.
