I like the layout of this magazine – it is simple and not too loud as it uses calm pastel colours, so probably aimed at a female audience. I think this magazine is probably also aimed at people who care more about the music and fashion rather than the lifestyle surrounding it – people who buy this are probably adults rather than young people.

I like the close-up photo used on this cover – it looks simple and natural and not too posed. It makes the magazine look laid-back but sophisticated too.

I like the black and white themed image has been highlighted with the bright red masthead and bright red details on the artists (nails, hair, lips etc) and in the font (a ‘+’ sign). This creates quite a striking image and I think this is probably what the editors and artists wanted to show.

I think people who would pick up this magazine are interested in the lifestyle surrounding their favourite music and want to know gossip from the bands and artists.

I like the colour scheme used on this cover (red and white) and the photo looks well thought out and like a poster. I like how the cover has made the lead article stand out even more by making it take up a lot of the cover and not including another cover lines except the names of some bands in the skyline.

I think people who read this magazine are serious about music and entertainment.

I like the way this cover has kept it’s style in line with the artist’s image, and made the whole cover fit in with it, including the fonts and colour scheme. I especially like how the cover is not a photo but a drawing which highlights the artist’s retro 1940’s image even more, making the cover look like a poster.

I think people who buy this magazine are interested in a wide range of music and are quite serious about it.

I like how this magazine cover has been creative with the cover image, relating it to it’s main article. I also like that the artist’s name has been placed very big and bold and across the picture, but still without distracting attention from the image.

I think people who read this magazine are very keen on music and are interested in a wide range of it.

I also like the simple colour scheme of black and white and red and blue.

i like the bold, simple masthead that stands out on the shelves.

Q sells around 100,000 copies per issue, 81,500 of which are sold in the UK.

The reader profile (from publisher’s website) says the readers are; ‘open minded experience seekers’ and ‘music is an important passion’.

I like the image used on the cover of this magazine, I think it shows the band’s extravagant style very well. I like how they’ve used a glittering gold background to highlight this too.

i like the attitude portrayed by this cover - the font used (sans serif) shows that the magazine is aiming to sell to people who are serious about fashion and like to have fun.

Mixmag sells around 30,000 copies per issue, 23,000 of which are sold in the UK.

The reader profile (from the magazine website) says the reader is; the first on a new fashion trend’ and ‘the median reader age is 26’.
