Version 1.1 (04/03/05) - Finished Imagicards and completed a portion of Chapter 3.

Version 1.2 (09/03/05) - Updated the formatting.

Version 1.3 (11/27/05) - Finally finished the guide. Sorry for the wait.

Version 1.4 (02/28/06) - New format and ASCII, hurray!

Version 1.5 (01/13/07) - Complete format overhaul. To be frank, I was disgusted by this FAQ. It looked really ugly, hence the update. Oh yeah, and I added a bestiary.

Note: Information taken from the Official Bradygames Guide

~- Musashi -~==============================================================================

Musashi is a young aspiring samurai who arrives in Wellspring Woods with neither an understanding of where he is nor why he's here. Fortunately for the Mystics who are depending on him, he is a quick learner. Armed with his trusty katana, Musashi sets out across expansive and dangerous lands to rescue those who fled their village and also reclaim the five sacred swords.

~- Princess Mycella -~==============================================================================

Princess Mycella is believe to possess the most magical power of all the

Page 3: Musashi Samurai Legend

Mystics and, as a result, is Gandrake's primary target. The people of her village care deepenly for her and hope that Musashi can defy the odds and rescue this sweet girl. Over the course of his time in Antheum, Musashi and Mycella will become good friends; she will miss him when he has to return home.

~- Burrini -~==============================================================================

Burrini, the Maiden of the Earth, is oftenFound at Tunnbrod's Bread shop. She is a very kind person who loves nature and its creatures. A long time ago, she created a magical maze on the outskirts of Wellspring Woods calld Manglewood. She's the only person who knows her way through it, bue even she finds it too dangerous to be alone.

~- Fontina -~==============================================================================

Of all the inhabitants in Antheum, Fontina is the only one who was reluctant to summon Musashi. She is an extremely proud scholar who would like to believe that the answer to the Mystics' problem with Gandrake is containted in a book. As the Maiden of Water, she is reluctant to help Musashi locate the Sword of Water.

~- Mirabo & Maribo -~==============================================================================

Mirabo and Maribo are the twin Maidens of Fire and, when they're not getting into troulbe, they are working on their studies at the Academy. These two girls may be young, but they are quite worldly. Musashi must be careful when dealing with Mirabo and Maribo, as they may be developing a crush on him!

~- Istara -~==============================================================================

Unlike the other Mystics, Istara doesn't live in Antheum. This Maiden of Wind prefers to live amongst the Picobeans and the great Arachnolia in Picodon Jungle. Once a Champion at the Arena, her days of fighting monsters to entertain the Mystics are behind her.

~- Master Mew -~==============================================================================

Nobody becomes a samurai legend without the benefit of learning from a true master. Master Mew may be a bit on the short side, but his wisdom is grand. He takes Musashi under his own tutelage and duplication. Musashi will learn a great deal from Master Mew over the course of his adventure.

~- Chief Banon -~==============================================================================

Banon, leader of the Mystics, is also the Chief of Antheum. He is a proub but levelheaded man who wants nothing more than for is daughter, Mycella, to be returned and for his village to be free from Gandrake's tyranny. Musashi can visit Banon in his office frequently to study the World Map he keeps there.

~- President Gandrake -~==============================================================================

Gandrake is a masterful samurai who hasFound his way to becoming the presiden of his own greedy corporation. Gandrake seeks to acquire all of the knocn sources of nebulite and he intends to use the power of the Mystics to do so. Gandrake is extremely skilled with a sword and has the ability to summon Ninjaroids on the spot.

Page 4: Musashi Samurai Legend

~- Glogg: Director of Negotiations -~==============================================================================

Glogg relies on his tremendous strength to get by in Gandrake's organization but, truth be told, he's not much of a worker. Known to sneak away to go surfing whenever possible, Glogg's dedication to his job is often brought into question. Despite his constant bickering with Riesling, the two make a great team and are seldom seen apart.

~- Malbec: Director of Research and Development -~==============================================================================

Malbec, Gandrake's "boy wonder", is the breains behind the various creations produced by Gandrake Enterprises. Malbec may not be much of a swordsman, but he is extremely clever and capable of inventing some of the most dastardly weapons and monsters ever seen!

~- Rothschild: Director of Administration -~==============================================================================

Rothschild is the suave lieutenant in Gandrake's army. He is exceptionately smart and always calm; he doesn't let much get to him. Rothschild is a master of the arcane and can use the powers of his staff to unleash many nasty surprises.

~- Shiraz: Director of Intelligence -~==============================================================================

Of all the members in Gandrake's organization, Shiraz is arguably the most sinister. This cat-like Director of Intelligence is an extremely deft combatant who can attack up close with its claws or back off and use its magical tail to do its fighting.

~- Riesling: Director of Security -~==============================================================================

Unlike Shiraz and Rothschild, Riesling isn't all that bright. In fact, he's a bit of a buffoon- at least that's what Glogg thinks. Riesling is consistantly getting into arguments with Glogg and is the butt of the other board members' jokes. Riesling will definitely have something to prove when he meets up with Musashi.

[4] WALKTHROUGH [0400]______________________________________________________________________________

============================================================================== PROLOGUE [0401]==============================================================================

A princess is shown performing some sort of ritual. She is standing in the center of a large room with a staff at her hand. A guard shouts to her that there are intruders in the building.

All of a sudden, Ninjaroids invade the room being accompanied by a strange man. The girl finishes what she calls, "a summoning", and the Ninjaroids rushtowards her. The guard is taken down, and the strange man kidnaps the princessafter they exchange words. A meteor is shown careening towards earth. It landsin a forest, and a young boy with a metal oar is shown laying on the forestfloor.

~- Wellspring Woods -~==============================================================================

Page 5: Musashi Samurai Legend

Time to Train-------------The game starts off in Wellspring Woods. Continue forward from the starting point until you reach the cat. That's Master Mew, and he will start your training, so you know, you can get used to the game. He will tell you the basics to the game.

Walk around and slash at the barrels to collect HP and MP. Master Mew will summon an enemy. Use the Square Button to slash the Ninjaroid. Keep slashing him until he dies. Mew summons more and tells you to defend. Press L1 to defend against attacks. Lock on to one of the Ninjaroids and attack, blocking if the other gets too close.

Keep killing enemies until you level up. Go into the Main Menu and select "Status". You can level up attributes from there. From now, just select the one that evenly distributes your attributes so all of your stats can get an even boost.

Two flowers will pop out of the water once you exit the menu. Hop across and talk to Mew. Jump towards the ledge and you will hang on the edge. Press up on the Left Analog Stick to climb up, then proceed. Mew will teach about carrying people.

Press X to pick someone up, Circle to toss them up in the air, and press Square to perform a spinning slash if you threw the person in the air. Press Square to thrust the person being carried into enemies. Press Triangle to dropthem. Now that you understand the basics, Master Mew will set up a simple puzzle for Musashi.

Mew's Puzzle------------This is a relatively simple puzzle if you've been paying attention. Pick up Mew and proceed through the clearing up ahead. A Ninjaroid will come forth; thrust Mew into it several times to kill it. See that orb that's overing the object stuck in the ground? Deactivate it by placing Mew onto the glowing area. The orb will disappear once Mew is standing on the glowing platform.

Press X once next to the object to pull it out of the ground: obtaining the Great Oar. You can press Triangle to perform a slow but strong overhead slash with the Great Oar. This weapon has a Latent Power. Three Ninjaroids will appear in front of you. Now's a perfect time to test it out. Press L2 and Triangle to perform it's Latent Power: Maelstrom. It will probably kill them all in one hit.

Graduation Day--------------This is your final test, and a very important technique in battle. Master Mew will teach you how to duplicate and have the ability to perform certain enemies powers. When you lock on to an enemy, a little bar on the side will start to fill up. Once completely filled up, you will be able to duplicate an enemy's attack. If your targeting reticule on the enemy is blue, that means that it has an ability that you can duplicate. Fortunately, the Ninjaroid that appears has an ability that you can duplicate.

Lock on and wait for the bar to fill up. Once filled up, let it attack you. Once it's about to hit you, and exclamation point will pop up. Press Square once it pops up to start duplicating the attack. A message will appear telling you what to do in order to duplicate the attack. For this case, press Square repeatedly in order to duplicate the Ninjaroid's ability: Chain Attack. Now you can chain up to five slashes in a row. It doesn't consume any MP, so don't fret.

Your last session with Master Mew will be completed once you duplicate and destroy the enemy. Mew will lead you to a path with a blue floating orb. This is a capsule which you can break with your Great Oar. Press Triangle to slash the orb, releasing a Mystic. You must release and rescue all 28 Mystics, which are scattered around the whole game.

Page 6: Musashi Samurai Legend

This capsule contains Modena, a shopkeeper at the village. Mew will tell youthat your new quest is to rescue Princess Mycella, who was kidnapped byGandrake, a leader of a corrupt company planning to so some, well, evil stuff.Enter the tunnel to continue on out of the forest.

~- Tunnel -~==============================================================================

On His Own----------Just like the quest is entitled, Musashi is on his own from now on. Once you enter the tunnel, a Falvabot will come forth. These guys are strong and have a long-range attack. Duplicate his attack by rotating the Left Analog Stick once, then hitting Square. You will learn another technique called Three Sixty, where Musashi spins around, slicing anyone around him. No MP is used for this technique as well as Chain Attack.

Take out the Galvabot if he's still alive, then open the chests. You wil recieve a Funky Mask and Iron Parts. These are useless at the time and need to be appraised. A Ninjaroid accompanies two Galvabots as you move forward. Take out them, using Three Sixty if you get surrounded. Hop on the bike to fly through the barricade.

You will be travelling through a long tunnel. Use the Left Analog Stick to move and press Square to attack. Hold and release Square for a charged attack. You will encounter Ninja Riders up ahead. Press up to speed forward, slashing them as you pass by. Crash through the barricades for points. Try to position yourself in between two to take them both out for bonuses.

A road full of Blasterbots is up ahead. They fire rapid streams of bullets, so move from side to side, slashing at their sides to destroy them. Take out the approaching Galvabots that come your way. More Ninja Riders will come from behind and try to attack. Slash them each as they ride by, and the Red Ninja Rider will come forth.

He's a lot stronger than normal ninjas. He will speed in front of you and roll bombs behind himself towards you. Dodge the bombs and he will slow down. Speed up and slash him once or twice or use a charged shot. When he rears back his sword, defend with L1 or slow down to completely dodge the attack.

Speed back up and take him out with some more slashes. You will earn money for the number of barracades smashed and number of enemies defeated. Hop off of the bike and open the chest containing Torch Parchment. Walk through the checkpoint so that if you die, you will be restored there. Break the capsule containing the Mystic Shiranzo and exit the tunnel.

~- Nebulium Tower -~==============================================================================

You will now have to travel across the long bridge towards Nebulium Tower. The bridge is guarded by a massive amount of Galvabots. Walk across the bridge to have around 5 come towards and fight you. Use Three Sixty often toscatter them and use Chain Attack to send one or two flying.

Proceed across the next section of the bridge, taking out more Galvabots. UseThree Sixty constantly, since it doesn't waste any MP. Head to the circular platform to attract some Ninjaroids. Take them out and break the machines on the edges for some HP and MP.

Go across the two final bridges, destroying any Galvabot in your path. On the last section before the tower, a lot more Galvabots will approach you. Lure them all next to each other and use Mealstrom to take them all out. Proceed through the door into the tower.

Continue up the spiral pathway on the edge of the wall. Take out any Ninjaroids in your way. Keep heading up until you reach an elevator. Continue to the dead end to find another capsule. Break it open to release Palou, then go back and enter the elevator. On the second floor, continue up the spiral pathway littered with Ninjaroids and Blasterbots. Take them out and guard

Page 7: Musashi Samurai Legend

when needed. You should soon arrive at a room.

Enter to find the princess. Destroy the machine next to the chamber that she's being held in to release her. They introduce each other, and Musashi tells her that they need to escape. You will have to carry Mycella througout the tower. Thrust her into any oncoming enemies for massive damage. When you get on the elevator, it takes you up instead of down.

Musashi and Mycella end up on the tower apex when the elevator stops. Musashi decides to jump off with Mycella to escape, but a scream is heard from behind him. A shadowy figure grabs Mycella and jumps on a tall structure. He introduces himself as Gandrake, the corrupt leader of an evil organization. He kidnaps Mycella and teleports away, leaving Musashi with his latest creation: The Vaporbot.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Vaporbot

The Vaporbot is a big tough machine that has several attacks. For its first attack, he will lower his arms to the ground and start spinning towards you. Simply run in the opposite direction to avoid any collision. If you get too far away, he will smash his hands together and shoot them at you at a high speed, making it somewhat hard to get out of the way.

Get up close to the Vaporbot and strike the yellow orb with the spike at its end. Repeatedly slash it to deal some damage to it. The Vaporbot will curl into a ball and shoot itself at a wall and ricochet around the room, pinball style. You will most likely get hurt because the attack in general is very hard to dodge.

The Vaporbot will then float in the air in the circular form like before. Watch his big shadow and stay away from it. He will fall, breaking into threepieces. Attack the central part with the red insignia on it and use Maelstrom to deal massive damage. He will then rebuild himself again, so go and slash the glowing orb more.

The Vaporbot's last attack is a gun-type attack where he aims towards Musashi and fires bullets out of his fingertips. Stay in between the rows of gunfire and wait for the bullets to stop. Slash the core, dodge the ball form, andwait for the Vaporbot to crash down again. Keep repeating this process and theVaporbot will be totaled.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Master Mew will appear and teleport Musashi to Antheum, the home of the Mystics. You have just finished the Prolouge.

============================================================================== OF SWORDS AND MAIDENS [0402]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

A Village Palaver-----------------Master Mew introduced Musashi to Chief Banon and his wife, Fermiere. Banon is the leader of the Mystics and Princess Mycella's father. Banon explains that the summoning Mycella used earlier actually summoned Musashi to Antheum, where he was to rescue the princess. Musashi is the only hope in stopping Gandrake from using the Mystics' power for himself and his Enterprise and in rescuing Mycella.

The Mystics rely on a mineral called Nebulite. Gandrake is taking all of theNebulite for their Enterprises. They run an engine which uses Nebulite asfuel, and with the shortage of Nebulite, Gandrake Enterprises is using theMystics to locate more Nebulite.

Antheum is a city that's actually on the back of a giant flying whale called the Anthedon. The Anthedon has a mystical power and magical forces, and with

the help of Mycella and the Mystics, it can actually return Musashi home. Mew explains that without the prescence of the 5 Sacred Swords, the Anthedon isn't strong enough to send Musashi home. Archive-------Think of this place as a library. The Archive has a wide assortment of reference books which contain onformation on weapons, artifacts, or locations that Musashi finds. They provide a lot of backround information so you can understand the world in a much greater detail.

Academy-------The Academy is a school where young children are being teached the ways of life. Only four students are enrolled, but the teacher, Mrs. Tilsit, has a hard time controlling them. Visit the Academy every once and a while to have conversation with the teacher and her students.

Dojo----Since Musashi isn't a master samurai yet, Master Mew set up a dojo for the two to train. Here, you can learn two new duplication abilities, which can be quite useful in the outside world.

Chief's Quarters----------------This is the home to Banon, Fermiere, and Mycella. You can visit to talk with the chief's family or to access the Chamber of Rites with a Mystic or ofcourse, a Maiden.

Alright, once you've gotten the feel of Antheum, head to Tunnbrod's Bread. Talk to Tunnbrod for him to tell you that the Maiden of Earth, Burrini, headed out to Manglewood. Go to Banon's Office on the first floor. Here, you will be transported to Wellspring Woods once again.

~- Wellspring Woods -~==============================================================================

Find the Maiden---------------Musashi will start in the woods where he started in the beginning of the game. Head up towards the lake, then left and hop across the flowers. Taking out oncoming Ninjaroids should be a lot easier since you're had a lot of time to practice in the Prologue. Hop up on the ledge and climb on top of it. Proceed forward. Break the capsule containing Asadero. Keep going forward.

This area is the same place where Mew taught you about carrying. There are new enemies here, which are the Ripper Bats. You can duplicate Sonic Thrust from them by pressing up on the Left Analog Stick and hitting Square. Take them out with your newly acquired technique. Keep going down the path to find Burrini, who seems to be in some trouble.

Musashi sees that Burrini is being pursued by Ninjaroids and that strange man who captured Mycella in the opening cutscene. He introduces himself as Rothschild, Director of Administration. Musashi runs to the scene, and Rothschild flees with the Ninjaroids to deal with Musashi and Burrini. Take them out with a Maelstrom and take out any stragglers. Burrini will thank you for saving her, but comments on how she can't stand.

Manglewood Madness------------------Pick her up and return to the previous area. Once back at the area with the lake at the center, jump down off of the ledge. Ninjaroids will attack, but I find it easy to thrust Burrini into them and aim for the water. If you hit them into the water, they'll instantly die. Head left from the ledge and go up the pathway. A capsule containing Allegee is up ahead. Break it to free the mysterious fortune teller. Take out the Ninjaroid and enter Manglewood.

Page 12: Musashi Samurai Legend

~- Manglewood -~==============================================================================

Manglewood is one giant maze. Each area is forked four times, with four different ways to go. The areas look like this:

North | | | West------+------East | | | South

This maze repeats itself over and over, where you can only go a certain way each time. If you want to exit Manglewood, just go south to exit the maze. Ninjaroids will appear at each crossroad. Bring Burrini to the center of the intersection. She will tell you which direction to go. To make your way through the maze easily, just follow these directions:

- North - East - North - West - North

Once you follow those directions, you will exit Manglewood. You will enter another part of Wellspring Woods where Burrini has kept the Sword of Earth. She explains that she sealed an evil monster in the urn up ahead. She used the Sword of Earth to seal the massive beast in the urn. She suggests that you break the seal and take the sword, because the monster, Gorpus, is very old after being sealed in there for all those years and he shouldn't be a problem.

Climb up the large urn and walk towards the sword embedded in the top of the structure. Musashi will pull out the sword and Gorpus will smash out of the urn, sending part of the structure careening towards the entrance. The urn lands in the entranceway, sealing the entrance and splitting Burrini and Musashi up. The enraged beast roars at Musashi. It's time to fight!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gorpus

Gorpus is a giant mechanical scorpion with an attitude. You can take out its arms, but they will regrow soon. Gorpus's main attack is to slice at you with its massive claws. Run towards it to have it attack you, and run away from you get hit. He's stationary with this attack, so it won't follow you. Gorpus will jump in the air and land shortly after. He's quick and large, so try to stay out of the impact and get away from the casted shadow. Slash at his protective jaw plate over its eye whenever you have a chance. The scorpion will glow red and charge at you if you keep your distance.

This is the way to go, because he slowly runs towards you, making it easy to dodge. Gorpus has one last attack, but it's dangerous. He will charge up its tail as it starts to glow. Gorpus will shoot multiple fireballs out of its tail towards Musashi. Run from side to side in order to dodge them. They are fast, so be prepared to use Rye Bread or Burnt Biscuits if you get hit at all.

Once the fireballs cease, Gorpus will collapse to the ground, totally exhausted. Quickly dash in front of the mechanical monster and slash the jaw piece covering its eye. It may take one or two successful tries to destroy the place. If he gets up, the dodge more attacks and wait for him to shoot fireballs again.

Once the jaw place is off, use your Great Oar to swing into Gorpus's eyeball. It will rear back in pain and a new jaw plate will appear. It will become faster with its attacks and try to strike you since you're up close. Run away from the beasts claws or dodge them and slash at the claws.

Page 13: Musashi Samurai Legend

If you break off a claw, dodging the attack will be much easier for there's only one claw to deal with and the other doesn't grow back for a while. You can take out both of its claws, totally eliminating that attack until the claws regrow. Gorpus will shoot more fireballs every time its eye is damaged so take note of that. It will take three hits to the eye to kill the creature, but remember that you must destroy the jaw piece each time. Once Gorpus is slain, you recieve the Sword of Earth.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

The Rite of Transfer--------------------As you return to Antheum, Tunnbrod and Burrini will both thank you for your help back in Manglewood. Burrini says that in order for the Sword of Earth's power to be used, they must go to the Chamber of Rites and release its Latent Power.

Proceed to the third floor and go into the Chief's Quarters and step on the teleport pad. After the ritual, Musashi will be able to use Tremor Thrust, theSword of Earth's Latent Power bye pressing L2 and Triangle. It also restoredsome power to the Anthedon, making it stronger.

Meanwhile, at Gandrake Headquarters, the organization is being called for a meeting. Malbec, Glogg, Rothschild, Shiraz, and Riesling are having a conversation. TheyFound out that Musashi has destroyed the Vaporbot, and they aren't liking it.

Clochette, Gandrake's Assistant, starts the meeting as Gandrake comes forward.Glogg isn't happy, and he wants a piece of Musashi. Gandrake tells Glogg that he should stay away from Musashi at all costs, because he is a dangerous foe.Glogg is actually relieved by that statement, and the meeting ends.

============================================================================== BROKEN GLASSES [0403]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Another Maiden Gone Missing---------------------------Head to Banon's Office to hear some grave news. Gandrake's henchmen has kidnapped Fontina, Maiden of Water, and is keeping her in Roquefort Mine.

They specifically kidnapped her because she is the wisest of the Maidens and has the most knowlege of Nebulite. If they could get her to talk, then she could leak possible info about Nebulite. Musashi takes the request and goes to save her. Talk to Banon to access the World Map. Move up towards the words "Roquefort Mine" and the Anthedon wil fly there. Press X to accept the Broken Glasses quest.

~- Roquefort Mine -~==============================================================================

Exploratory Drilling--------------------You will start off outside of the mine. Glogg will tell the Ninja Drillers on duty to keep working, because he's bored and is heading back to headquarters. Glogg leaves, and the drillers slack off. Go straight across the plank, but turn left before you go across the bridge. Hop up the stairs and collect Iron Parts. Go down and across the bridge to fight some Ninjaroids.

Round the corner and take out the Galvabots near the three structures. In-between the pink pipes are switches. Step on a switch and use Tremor Thrust.Switch to the Sword of Earth and press L2 and Triangle. Musashi will slam the

Page 14: Musashi Samurai Legend

sword onto the switch. The door will open, containing items and MP bubbles. Dothis to all three switches to recieve all the goodies.

Go down the walkway and jump over the horizontal pipes. Take out the Galvabot and use Tremor Thrust on the large rock with the crack in the middle. It should be laying on the wall past the Galvabot and right next to where you can drop down. Once broken, it reveals a cave. Open the chest to obtain the Hard Hat, which raises Defense.

Exit the cave and drop down near the drillers. Focus on one and wait until one sees you and rears its drill back. It will rapidly stab you with it's drill. If your focus meter is filled, get hit with this move and press Circleto duplicate it. This is Angry Hornet, and this spell will be your friend formost of the game.

Kill the Drillers, but remember that they can interrupt a Chain Attack withtheir drills; they are strong. They keep reappearing, so unless you want madEXP, head up the ramp. Go around for more drillers and Galvabots and take themout. There is a large group of machines that you can break for HP, MP, andmoney.

Go around the bars on the edge of the wall and walk between the bars and the wall. You'll see a chest; open it for some cash. Head bak out and drop down the hole. It leads to a lower level. Take out the drillers and open the chest for some Magic Alloy. Go up the ladder back to the upper level where all the drillers were. See teh central structure? Jump to the section in the center where the switch is. Tremor Thrust the switch to rotate the structral beam.

Jump back near the drillers and climb up the ladder to a beam. Break the capsule to free the blacksmith, Mugwort. You can upgrade your swords if you give him Magic Alloy. Jump onto the rotating beam and look at the right beam. There's an entranceway there. Once on the rotating beam, wait for it to face the beam with the entrance at the end. Jump on that beam and proceed forward towards the entrance. Now you'll be inside of the mine.

Steamed-------Defeat the four Ninjaroids near the entrance then take out one Blasterbot. If you take out both, then two more will appear, so just destroy one and avoid the other. There is an upgraded Galvabot called a Voltrabot. He can shoot electricity at you, and conveniently for you, he has a duplicable attack; Paralyzing Punch. Lock on to him and wait for the bar to charge up. When he goes to punch you, get hit and press O to learn Paralyzing Punch.

Kill him once the ability is learned and climb the ladder to the left. You will walk across walkways with vents to the side which blast out steam. Avoid the steam and kill the Voltrabot. Get the powerups and jump to the second walkway. Avoid the steam and climb up the ladder. Defeat the Ninjaroid andTremor Thrust the switch to turn the vents off. No more steam!

Go back down and head forward past the three vents where the steam was coming from and open the chest. You will get a Passion Punch. Go towards the platform and break the capsule. Kiri is the Mystic that was sealed away in the capsule; she runs a creamery. hit the switch to open the large door where the first Voltrabot was. Jump down and go through to door to end up on an elevator.

Press X next to the switch to turn on the elevator. The elevator will go down the track, but Musashi hears a noise from below. A massive machine with drills comes riding up towards the elevator and jumps on. It roars at Musashi and aims its drill arms for battle. Get ready for one of the hardest boss battlesin the game!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Drill Golem

This guy is insanely hard, and it took me at least 20 tries to take him out. Make sure you have a lot of Rye Break, because his attacks deal over 30 damage. The little moving space doesn't help either. The boss only has two

Page 15: Musashi Samurai Legend

attacks, but they are devastating. The first attack is where the Drill Golem moves his drill hands and attempts to smash you. Jump away from him and you should dodge the hit. The second move is when he breathes fire at you. This attack has a very long range, so either go to the opposite side of the elevator or try to get behind the big guy. The key to winning this battle is to keep your distance.

Stay on the opposite side of the elevator. Drill Golem will lumber toyou. Run behind him to get away. If he rises and rears back his head, then get behind him: he's about to spew fire. The first attack takes a bit of time to execute, so you can get more hits in. Use Angry Hornet one or two times on his back, then run aawy before he swipes at you.

Run back to the other side of the elevator and wait for him to comes towards you again. Use a Passion Punch and use Angry Hornet on his back, and always stay moving. If he traps you in a corner, you're pretty much done. Don't use Maelstrom; it's a waste of MP. Angry uses less MP and it actually deals as much or more damage.

If you're out of MP, then swipe him with a couple katana slashes. Don't use aChain Attack, because it takes too long, and by then, he's already in front ofyou and ready to attack. Drill Golem is insanely hard, but once you have hispattern down, you can take him out after a couple of tries. Once you kill thebig guy, it will get knocked down off of the elevator and explodes. Woohoo!

~- Alternate Strategy (by Draco Purity Starscream) -~

My character's stats at this time:

Level - 5HP - 125MP - 129Strength - 50Defense - 35Focus - 32Luck - 40

I believe I had chose that I wanted to improve my strengths (MP and Strength) once, and individually improved my Strength three times to achieve these stats.

I also had a single upgrade using 2 magic alloy on my katana, I was wielding the Earth Sword, and had the Hard Hat equipped.

During this battle, I was immediately being submerged in fire until I developed a hasty strategy. I approached the scorpion, and when he got ready to strike me, I ran back and around him, and used Angry Wasp on his back once or twice. After the first or second time, I used a Passion Punch, and was dealing 400-600 damage per Angry Wasp. Over the battle, due to mistakes in the beginning and in my timing, I only used 3 Rye Breads.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Going South on B3-----------------Once the elevator lands, go through the checkpoint. Break the machines for powerups and take out the Voltrabots and Galvabots through the hallway. Dodge more steam from the vents and proceed into the circular dirt room. There are groups of enemies that spawn for an infinate amount of times. If you want EXP, here's the place to go, but there are so many enemies to kill; it's hard. Ninja Miners make an appearance here. Focus them and when they spin their pickaxe, get hit and press L1 to learn Twin Turbine, a defensive ability.

If you want to leave, then just go through the door. Go across the walkway and take out the approaching Blasterbots and avoid more steam emitting from the vents. Take out the Voltrabots too, and you will end up in a large open area with a bridge in front of you. Go across the bridge and destroy the enemies. Go down the lift at the end and take out more enemies. Press X next to the flying machine to get on and start up a minigame type thing.

Page 16: Musashi Samurai Legend

You will start flying though a tunnel on the machine. Press Square to knock into people and press Triangle to use Turbo Boost. Beware, the boost consumes all MP and can only be used once. Once you start flying, some Ninja Aces comes from behind. Press Square to knock into them and send them smashing into a wall. Take out all three, then you will find some stationary ones. Try to knock into most of them, creating a pinball effects and possibly knocking into other to score mad points. Most of the enemies here are stationary, so whenever you find a group, twirl next to them ans smash into them.

You will find more flying ones later in the tunnel. They shoot missiles at you, so dodge them and continue using your ship as a battering ram. Once the tunnel ends, your remaining health and number of enemies defeated will be totaled up for a point score.

+-------------------------+--------+----------------+ | RANKING | MONEY | IMAGICARD | +-------------------------+--------+----------------+ | Rank S: Flying Ace | 1000 | Ninja Ace | | Rank A: Hotshot | 500 | Voltrabot | | Rank B: Daredevil | 300 | Ninja Driller | | Rank C: Suicidal Maniac | 100 | None | +-------------------------+--------+----------------+

You will exit the machine at an area similar to where you started the flying minigame. Open the chest containing Pork Pot Pie and get the Checkpoint. More Ninjaroids will attack, so wipe them out with the aiding Blasterbots. Go across the bridge and go up the lift. Go forward across the upper bridge and take out remaining Ninjaroids, Blasterbots, and Voltrabots. Enter the next room, and you will be on another bridge with only Voltrabots and Galvabots.

Take each out one by one and use Maelstrom if you get surrounded. Go into the next room to enter Fontina's chamber. Fontina will be heald in a glass storage container similar to what Mycella was kept in. Slash at the pink tubes around the room to free Fontina. She falls into Musashi's arms and faints shrtly after. Carry her out of the room and thrust her into any Voltrabots and Galvabots that stand in your way.

Just as you make your way out of the room, who comes crashing through? The Drill Golem of course, for an encore appearance. He chases Musashi through a long hallway, with Musashi barely avoiding near death. Musashi flies into the circular dirt room back where the Ninja Miners were. The Drill Golem comes from underground and looks a lot different from the first encounter. His wheels stretch out to turn into legs, and his head is perched on the circular body. We beat him the first time, let's beat him again!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Drill Golem

Lucky for us, this time the Drill Golem is nowhere near as hard as he was before. You have a lot more space to move around, and his attacks are different, and weaker to boot. He will plod towards you with its small legs and come forth. Run behind him and start slashing the pesky robot. Don't use a Chain Attack, because he will turn around and grab Musashi in his drill, spin him around, and shoot him in the air to deal massive damage.

Slash him two or three times, then flee to any side of the room. The Drill Golem will engage in its long range attack when far away. His drill arms will open, revealing two cannons. Stay in the center of his two arms and run to the middle of him when he is firing. Unleash an Angry Hornet attack on him once or twice.

After your assault, the Drill Golem will most likely burrow under the ground. Its drills will stick out of the ground and chase you. Run or jump over them and have the Sword of Earth equipped. The drills will stop and poke out of the ground a little more. That's your cue to use Tremor Thrust. The earthquake will scare Drill Golem out of hiding and deal a lot of damage to the machine. He will rise and start to slowly move towards you. Run behind, deliver a few quick slashes, then get to the other side of the room.

The best time to attack the Drill Golem is when he's firing his cannons,

Page 17: Musashi Samurai Legend

because he won't more for quite a bit of time. It won't be long before theDrill Golem is down for good. Hey, just be grateful that he was way easierthan before!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sleepy Fontina--------------When you return to Banon's Office, Fontina will feel sleepy. Banon tells Fontina and Musashi to head to the Archive. Once you get there, Fontina falls asleep. Asadero, the librarian, tells Musashi that her glasses are broken, and since she can't see anything, she just falls asleep. She can't be woken up until her glasses are fixed. The lens are made of a rare substance called Lazulnut, which isFound in Wellspring Woods. Looks like it's time to head out and find some Lazulnut!

============================================================================== A LAZULNUT FOR FONTINA [0404]==============================================================================

~- Wellspring Woods -~==============================================================================

Journey North-------------Return to where Musashi rescued Burrini (where he was also taught on how to carry by Mew). You will now have to face White Ninjaroids, a stronger version of the normal Ninjaroids. Duplicate Banishing Blade from the white cousins and use Tremor Thrust on the rock at the end of the pathway. Continue up the path and break the capsule. Mrs. Tilsit will be rescued, who is the teacher at Antheum's academy.

Keep going and you will reach the Wellspring Tree. Battle the White Ninjaroids when you enter and head to the left. Kill the enemies and open the chests to obtain Iron Parts and Magic Alloy.Go back right and jump across the stream and head around the stairs. Take out the White Ninjaroid and open the chest at the dead end for a Trashy Novel. Go back up the stairs and around to the right to break another capsule. Molbo, a guard at Antheum, will be freed.

Now head to the left side of the stairs. Jump on the flowers across the waterfall. Go around the rocky ledge and open the chest for a Lightweight Strap. Walk where the rock points out towards the tree. Jump on the flowers in the water and hop on the base of the trunk. Go around to the front of the tree to find a Lazulnut.

Lazulnut Delivery-----------------Pick up the Lazulnut and carry it back across. Once on the rocky ledge, jump down to where the Iron Parts and Magic Alloy was. Take out the Ninjaroids and go back where youFound Mrs. Tilsit. Go past all the enemies, destroying them if you'd like, and go back to Antheum at the beginning of the woods.

An Ungrateful Damsel--------------------Musashi will now have the Lazulnut in his inventory back in Antheum. Pay a visit to the blacksmith and pick the option, "Just say something". Mugwort will take the Broken Glasses and Lazulnut and repair them.

Return to the Archives and give the glasses to Fontina. She will wak up, and she won't be happy with Musashi. They get in a heated arguement, because Fontina didn't want Musashi's help. In fact, she didn't even want him to be summoned in the first place; she thought they could deal with Gandrake on their own. Fontina storms out of the building.

Give her some time to cool down. Go to the Appraiser and get your stuff inspected. The Trashy Novel is a Love Book, and the Lightweight Strap is the Dragonfly Belt, which enables Musashi to double jump by pressing X twice!Visit the thirsd floor and go by the rubble to find Fontina. She will

Page 18: Musashi Samurai Legend

apologize and tell you a poem regarding the Sword of Water. Stock up on Bread at the shop and Ice Cream and go back to Banon's Office to head back to Wellspring Woods for a quick pit-stop.

============================================================================== SECRETS DEEP UNDERGROUND [0405]==============================================================================

~- Wellspring Woods -~==============================================================================

The Missing Mystic------------------Return to Wellspring Woods with your newly acquired Dragonfly Belt. Now you can jump twice, so getting around is easier. Instead of going around the island in the beginning, just go right and jump over the stream and you're on the other side already. Go over to the ledge and jump up. Go to where you found Mrs. Tilsit and proceed to the giant Wellspring Tree.

Once you're there, battle the Ninjaroids and jump up the stairs. Get onto the base of the tree where youFound the Lazulnut and go to the back of the tree. Double jump to the two flowers and go into the alcove. Break the capsule containing the inventor, Geldbrenner, and step into the portal back toAntheum.

Back in Antheum, you can check out the Inventions Laboratory, but I recommend heading out to Roquefort Mine for some new pieces for inventions. Go to Banon's Office and select "Secrets Deep Underground" at Roquefort Mine for your new quest.

~- Roquefort Mine -~==============================================================================

Runaway Train-------------If you activated the lift earlier here, then just go onto the platform from the starting point and ride your way down to the lower level. If not, then go all around the walkway, defeating Ninjaroids and Galvabots. Go to the middle of the track and jump to where the switch is. Tremor Thrust it and get the track rotating again. Turn around and jump back to climb the ladder up on the train track.

Get on the rotating track part again and jump to where you entered the mine last time. This time, the gate will be sealed. Press X on the gat to make Musashi pull on it, but it's too heavy and he can't open it. Just then, a train rides on the track and comes right in front of Musashi. It tries to run him down, but quickly, Musashi jumps on just in time.

The train crashes into the mine. The two Ninja Miners riding the train are happily dancing, thinking that they killed the great Musashi, not knowing that he's really laying on top of the train. Jump down and take them out by surprise. Head back to where you fought the first Drill Golem (*shudder*) and ride the elevator. This time, Ninja Drillers will accomplany you on the ride down. Get in the middle of the elevator and use Maelstrom to wipe them all out in a single blow. Do this again when the next batch comes down. You will arrive at the bottom of the mine. Go through the hallway, tearing through Voltrabots and Ninjaroids while dodgeing steam.

Northbound Diversion--------------------When you enter the dirst room, double jump onto the steel balcony to the left of where you enter. You can now access a room. Go down the hallway while taking out White Ninjaroids and Voltrabots. At the end of the hall, break the capsule and open the chest for a Migac Alloy. You will rescue a young girl named Fiore.

Head back to the dirt room and jump to the other steel balcony and go into the other room. It's similar to the other one, with more White Ninjaroids and

Page 19: Musashi Samurai Legend

Voltrabots. Battle your way through to enter a ventilation shaft with rotating fans.

Eastward and Onward-------------------once you enter the pink-lit shaft, walk across as you will notice something in the pipes to the side of you. A large Sumoroid pops out. These guys are very strong and have a lot of health. Lock on and focus. When they punch yo with a green aura, get hit and press O to duplicate their move, Infernal Strike. Take him out with some strong Chain Attacks and time your way past the fans.

Defeat the next Sumoroid and go through in between the next fan to come to a hallway. Take out some Ninja Miners and Drillers and go into the next shaft. The fan blades move a bit faster, so timing must be important of you'll get hurt. Run through when the coast is clear and take out the next Sumoroid afterhe emerges from the pipe.

Which Way to Go?----------------Slay the lone Ninjaroid on the top of the ledge. You can go down the ledges, but just drop down in the middle of the group of Ninja Miners and Drillers. Unleash a Mealstrom in the middle of the lot to wipe 'em all out. The fan to the right is going way too fast for you to pass through, so head to the gate to your left. Break through with a katana swipe and battle your way to the end of the pathway.

Tremor Thrust the switch to slow down the fan. Return and go through the fan blades. Destroy the Voltrabots in the hall and slip through the next fan to find a bunch of other fans throughout the whole tunnel. Slip and slide throughthem all with proper timing to enter a room like before.

Jump down and use Maelstrom on the group of Ninja Miners and Drillers, then go left in the tunnel by breaking the boulder with a Tremor Thrust. There aren't any enemies, so take your time. Destroy the next capsule to free Lou, a student at the Academy.

Break the gate behind the capsule to find a bunch of chests. You will obtain three rocks, Steel Parts, and Iron Parts from the chests. Return to the circular room and pick up the Magic Alloy in the corner. Hop up on the ledge and climb up to find another hallway. There are more White Ninjaroids, so destroy them as well as any Voltrabots.

At the end of the hallway, break the capsule to rescue Golovnin, the proprietor at the Arena. You can find another chest with Magic Alloy and a switch. Tremor Thrust the swtich to slow down another fan blade. Return to the circular room and go past the fan blade. You're almost to the end!

Almost There...---------------Go through the final vent shaft to find some more Sumoroids. Take them out with several Chain Attacks and go to the final circular cavern. Destroy the Ninja Miners and Ninja Drillers. To your left is another boulder. Break it with a Tremor Thrust and enter the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is a Vigorade and an Anthedon's Feast, which is a very rare food which restores 250 HP and MP! You might want to save this for when it's really needed. Return to the circular room and go straight, through the next fan.

This is the last tunnel, so slash your way through Voltrabots to the waterlogged room. There is a giant stone statue in the center, so as Fontinasaid, use Tremor Thrust to awaken the beast inside. Just as the all-knowingFontina predicted, the true bearer of the Sword of Water arises for a battle!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Scarlet Kraken

The Scarlet Kraken is a very huge boss; occupying a lot of the area. It is

Page 20: Musashi Samurai Legend

cessile, and can only move from side to side. It has many long tentacles which can lash out and grab Musashi and throw him into a wall to deal damage. Stay to the side of the beast and slash at it, trying to stay away from oncoming tentacles. The most common attack of the Scarlet Kraken is that it raises its front legs and sends them crashing down to the ground, starting a minor tremor.

This attack has a long range, so be prepared to move out of its way. Since this is its most common attack, don't use a Chain Attack because it will most likely stomp down on you while you're performing the attack. Another attack that Scarlet Kraken uses is where it firest black ink bombs up into the air, letting them fall to the ground. Dodge the bombs and stay away from them entirely. If Musashi walks on a black area where one fell, he will takedamage.

Keep attacking the side of the beast or even its tentacles. The kraken will turn to one side of the room and start gushing water from its big mouth. Double jump over the water and head to the backside of the creature, where its giant water sac is located. This is the most vulnerable part of the beast, so slash away with the little time you have. When the water stops, it will move away, ending your attack on the sac.

When you've slashed away at the Kraken enough, it will lay on the ground and expose its tongue out. Aim for the blue shining tip of the tongue and use Angry Horner on it several times. This is really the only surefire way of defeating the boss. Attackin the outside of it would just take way too long.

Scarlet Kraken will repeat all of these tactics to you. Remember all of the cues for his attacks so you can successfully dodge and counter them without taking much damage. Keep attacking the outside of the kraken and wait for it to stick out its tongue. That's when you attack with Angry Hornet or Banishing Blade.

If you don't have the Eagle Goggles or just don't like to use it, you can get a feel for its HP. When the Scarlet Kraken turns blue, you know that it has little health left, so up your attacks on its tongue to destroy the beast. Youwill receive the Sword of Water once the Scarlet Kraken is killed.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

The Rite of Transfer--------------------Musashi returns to the Archives to show Fontina that he's actually capable of saving the Mystics and Antheum alltogether. Fontina apologizes once again for her actions and starts to gain respect for the samurai. She invites him to join her in the Chamber of Rites for the Rite of Transfer. Once the cinema ends, go to the Chief's Quarters and enter the portal leading to the chamber.

Fontina and Musashi will perform the ritual, unlocking the Sword of Water's Latent Power, Hydro Blast. With Hydro Blast, Musashi can douse fires and cool heated objects. Save and stock up on any healing items, and you might as well check out the new places in Antheum.

============================================================================== TRUANT TWINS [0406]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

A Little R & R--------------Like the title says, just relax for a bit at Antheum before you take on your new quest. If you want some money, EXP, and imagicards, head over to the arena and partake in some challenges. You can win itmes and imagicards, as well as gain experience. Stock up on healing items and get new items appraised, such as the rocksFound in Roquefort Mine.

Page 21: Musashi Samurai Legend

Also, make a quick stop at the Dojo to learn a new technique. You can learn "Counterattack" from Master Mew. Duplicate it from him to be able to counter enemies moves. Just lock on to an enemy and wait for the focus gauge to fill. When the enemy attacks you, an exclamation point appears, such as one would when you duplicate an ability. If you press Square at the right time, you can counter the enemy's attack and unleash one of your own.

Once you're ready to start your quest, go to the Academy and talk to Mrs. Tilsit. She will state that two of her students are missing, who are also the twin Maidens of Fire, Mirabo and Maribo. She told them to stay out of danger, but of course, they didn't listen. They are located in Mount Terroir, so head to Banon's Office and go there next.

~- Mt. Terroir -~==============================================================================

Volcano Flats-------------Well, get ready for one annoying dungeon! This is a fiery, devilish place withlava spewing and fireballs rocketing everywhere. Most of the time, fire will be shooting out of the cracks in the ground. You might want to avoid them unless you like getting roasted. Turn around from the starting point for a chest containing a Pork Pot Pie. Take out the Ninjaroids and avoid the spewing flames.

Musashi will encounter a Yellow Ninjaroid. Lock on and duplicate their ability when they slash you. You will learn Double Cross, which lets you slice your foes into diced squares. You will see a wall of fire blocking your way. Test out the Sword of Water by pressing L2 and Triangle to use it's Latent Power: Hydro Blast. You will shoot out balls of water, extinguishing the fire and continuing the path for you.

Jump over the lava onto the rock island. Take out the Yellow Ninjaroids and head right. Watch out for the fireballs shooting from the center of the island and use Hydro Blast on the next fire wall on the right side. Go past and open the chest for Dirty Rag. You can break the metal pillar for powerups. Continue back to the island and head the other way.

Jump over the lava on to a ledge with a Red Galvabot on it. Lock on and get hit when the bot spins around to learn Whirling Dervish. Jump up the steps and defeat the two Yellow Ninjaroids. Jump up to the rock island. Go north around the flame pit in the center and jump to the ledge. Go to the dead end to find a chest. Open it to fins some money, then return to the rock island.

Go right this time to find another ledge. Double jump to it and proceed forward. Double jump over the steam and go up the hill. You will end up on top of a hill with surrounding lava. Walk around the edges to the left. Walk straight around the edges to the open tunnel. Extinguish the fire wall and continue ahead past the steam vents by jumping over them. Go across the plateau to the next area.

The Rocky Ascent----------------Climb the rock steps past the steam vents and travel up to the high ledge. Go down the pathway defeating any enemies in your way and you will reach a dead end. See the lava geyser? Use Hydro Blast on it to make the lava harden, turning it into a nice platform. Jump on it and double jump to the ledge above. But remember, the hardened lava will shatter shortly, so make sure it doesn't break under you!

You will now be on the edges of a lava pool. You should see little heads pop out of the lava. If not, they will jump out at you once you walk past them. These guys are Salamanders, and you can't hurt them...yet. If you slash at one, you will get hurt from it's fiery body. Use Hydro Blast on the lizard to extinguish it's bodily flames, then kill it before it flees to the lava. There are also Red Galvabots and Ninjaroids accompanying them. Take those foes out as well.

Page 22: Musashi Samurai Legend

Go right when you come to the lava pool. Drop down at the end of the path to the lower ledge. Notice the stepping stone in the middle of the lava. In front of it is a lava waterfall. Take note of that for now. Walk around, defeating Ninjaroids on your way, and jump across the pit to the next path. Jump up the rocky stairs and you should end up on the other side of an even larger lava pool.

There is a big rock blocking the path, so use Tremor Thrust to move it. The rock semed to have been blocking the flow of lava as well, so when the rock moves, the lava flows down a waterfall, lowering the lava in the large lake. You can also go to the other side of the path where the rock was and open the chest for a Passion Punch.

Return to the lava pool where you first encountered the Salamanders. On your way there, you should notice a cave near where you jump up to the lava pool. Since the lava lowered in the lake, the cave is accessible. Jump to the stepping stone, then into the cave. Open the chest containing a Magic Alloy, then return to the lava pool. Go around the edges this time and take out any Yellow Ninjaroids and Red Galvabots. Avoid the steam vents once again and climb the steps to the high platform. Open the chest to find a Fire Blanket near a ledge that overlooks the lava pool.

Keep going around the edge of the area to end up on the other side of the lava lake. Now you're on the opposite side of where the rock was. I'm sure you've noticed now, but the lowered lava also exposed numerous rocks which can be used to get to the other side. Jump along and when the rocks fork, keep going straight. On the other side, there will be a capsule. Break it open to rescue Hosomaki, the sushi vendor. Go back to the rock stepping stones and take the other path. Destroy the two Yellow Ninjaroids waiting for you at the end and proceed into the cavern.

Lava, Lava, Everywhere----------------------This area is a giant lava waterfall which you must scale. Go forward near the lava pit for Salamanders to jump out at you. Use Hydro Blast to extinguish them and slice them up. Go around the edge proceed upwards and go around to the other side of the lava pit to find a chest which contains Iron Parts.

Turn around and jump to the other side of the river. Take out the Blasterbot. There is a nearby cave that is being blocked by a purple energy field. Don't worry about it now; you'll have to remember about it for later. Go up the hill and take out the Red Galvabots.

Jump to the first rock on the lava waterfall. The gap is too wide to cross. Wait for a rock to come down the waterfall, and when timed right, jump on it, then to the rock on the other side. Go across and up another ramp and defeat the Yellow Ninjaroid. You must do the same thing as right before: jump to the first rock, wait for another one to float down the waterfall, and jump to t with a timed jump. Go across the other side of the waterfall where more Red Galvabots await. Kill them and head to the next part of the lava stream.

The gap is way too large to cross. Two rocks will float down this time. Wait for two flat rocks to come floating down the river. Jump to the first one, and the second one will sink. The second rock always sinks, so don't waste your time. In fact, you don't even need a second rock. Just jump to the other side of the lava towards more enemies. Take out all of the Red Galvabots, Blasterbots, and Yellow Ninjaroids, then go to the side of the bank. Salamanders will ambush you, so use Hydro Blast and destroy them before they retreat into the lava.

Wait for two more flat rocks to float down the lava river. Jump to the first rock, and then to the second one before it sinks from under you. Jump back to the other side of the lava river. Go to the right of the exit to find a chest. The Galvabot Kit is waiting inside, which you can give to the Arena owner. Exit through the cave into the next area.

The Spelunking Samurai----------------------You will now enter a large cave. There are many intersections here, meaning

Page 23: Musashi Samurai Legend

that you can take many paths through the place. Make a left at the first fork towards the lava pit. Use Tremor Thrust to knock over the stone column into the lava, making some nice stepping stones. Use it once more to knock over the second column to cross the lava.

Make a right at the intersection and take out the Galvabots and Ninjaroids.Head into the alcove to the right and break the capsule to free Trixie, thewaitress at Pepper's Grill. Pick up the items inside the chests as well.

Backtrack to the last intersection and this time head the other way. Defeat the Ninjaroids here and approach the floor. The floor will collapse under you, so quickly hurry past to the other side. Head towards the hole nearby and drop down. Here, there will be two lava geysers with a rock on top of each. Use Hydro Blast on one of the lava geysers and jump on top of it. Use Hydro Blast on the other one and jump to the edge and make yourself up.

Proceed to the right to find Magic Alloy in the chest, then head back through the pit and to the other ledge. Make your way up and defeat the two Ninjaroids here. Head through the checkpoint and exit the cave.

An Odd Ascent-------------Quickly take out the two Ninjaroids here and destroy the capsule to free Broccio, the ring leader of the circus. Watch out for the steam vents as you make your way through the mountain path. Destroy the Yellow Ninjaroids and Red Galvabots here. Soon you will meet a new enemy: the Magma Drone.

These mechanical crab-looking monsters have an ability that you can duplicate.Wait for the Magma Drone to hide in its shell and lock on. Walk around it andwait for the ! to appear and you will gain the ability Zanshin. Now you canboost your defense while using MP.

Grab the small rock up ahead and place it down next to the ledge. Jump on the rock in order for you to reach the ledge. Hoist yourself up and continue on. Here is where you will meet the coolest, yet most annoying monsters in the game: Oddballs.

These little black balls travel in massive groups and bounce around. They can jump at you to hurt you a little bit. The best way to destroy all of them is to get in the middle of the group and use Maelstrom. With them out of the way,take out the Yellow Ninjaroids down the path. Take out more Oddballs, then make your way around the bend.

Grab another small rock and take it across the gap. Carefully jump across each rock platform and set it down under the ledge. Kill the Ninjaroid and jump up to the ledge. Stand behind the upcoming steam vent and just wait for the enemies ahead to run through it and die. Pick up the next rock and make your way to the lava river. Hop on the first rock only until you see a second one farther down.

When you jump to the second one, a third one should come down. Jump across it and onto the other side. Put the rock down for now and destroy the Magma Drones and Red Galvabots. Grab the rock and put it under the ledge then hop up to it. Defeat the Yellow Ninjaroids and Galvabots, then head through the doorway.

Into the Crater---------------You are finally at the top of the volcano, but your mission isn't over just yet. Battle through the Red Galvabots and take either path up to the top. Make sure to use items to replenish your HP and MP. When you make it to the top, head to the platform jutting into the air. Musashi will find Mirabo trapped in a large crystal ball.

Riesling will appear on the scene with Ninjaroids and tells the bots to start up the machine. It starts to go haywire and breaks, releasing Mirabo. Musashi catches her and makes his way back down the mountain. Don't bother with attacking the enemies; just run down the volcanic trail to the bottom again. There is a chest with Iron Parts to the left, so remember to get it. At the

Page 24: Musashi Samurai Legend

bottom is a warp point; step in it to end your mission.

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Another Artifact----------------Musashi brings Mirabo back to the Academy where she apologizes to Mrs. Tilsit. She is concerned that Maribo, Mirabo's twin sister, is also missing. She gives Musashi a pair of Huge Gloves to hold onto. Head to the Appraisals and get your new item checked out. It turns out that they are actually Gecko Gloves, which allow you to climb on certain walls! Return to the Academy and talk to Mirabo. She will tell you that Maribo is held at Nebulium Tower. Save at your Resting Quarters and visit the Blacksmit to upgrade your sword.

============================================================================== TRUANT TWINS II [0407]==============================================================================

~- Wellspring Woods -~==============================================================================

Return to the Tower-------------------Now you will have to return to Wellspring Woods. Once there, go to the tunnel and ride through the tunnel on the motorcycle. You should know the drill by now. Once you're through, get the checkpoint and exit to the tower entrance.

Destroy the Galvabots until you reach a Green Ninjaroid. This guy has a special attack where he will jump in the air and dive down at with with its claws open. Duplicate the attack and you will learn Diving Falcon. Continue down the walkways, defeating the Galvabots and Green Ninjaroids in your way. Once you make it to Nebulium Tower, enter the door to go inside.

~- Nebulium Tower -~==============================================================================

Damsel In Distress x2!----------------------Head to the right and double jump over the pipe. Enter the room in the center to find a chest with Steel Parts. Return to the entrance and head left this time. Head around the edge until you find an alcove with a ladder in it. Go down the ladder to the lower floor. From here, run clockwise around the room to find another ladder.

Climb down to the bottom floor. Head to the left and destroy the Blasterbots.Hop across the water and grab the Magic Alloy in the chest. Jump back over andproceed to the right. You will find a chest with Iron Parts at the far end. Goacross the bridge leading to the central room and approach the glass.

Here is where you get to test out your Gecko Gloves. Walk right up to the glass wall and you will stick on it. Now climb up the wall and navigate around the glass walls, while avoiding Blasterbot fire. When you reach a ledge, find another glass wall and start to climb up that one as well. When you reach some ledges, jump onto them and you will find an entrance to a room. Proceed inside to find Maribo. Break the machine to the right of the chamber to free her. Maribo will tell Musashi that Princess Mycella is also trapped in the tower.

Exit the room while carrying Maribo and turn right after going across the bridge. Put Maribo down and break the capsule ahead to free Taleggio. Enter the elevator and ride it down to floor B2F. Cross back over the walkway and follow the perimeter of the tower to the bridge. Enter the central room to find Mycella. Destroy the machine to free her as well. Once freed, the group returns to Antheum.

==============================================================================

Reunion Time------------Much of the town praises Musashi and thanks him for rescuing Mycella once again. Return to the Academy and talk to Mirabo and Maribo. They will offer to give you the Sword of Fire if you give the monster in the volcano "a good spanking". That sounds like a challenge to me, doesn't it? Stock up on items and save/rest at your Resting Quarters. Once ready, head out to Mt. Terroir.

============================================================================== VOLCANIC TEMPER [0408]==============================================================================

~- Mt. Terroir -~==============================================================================

Second Ascent-------------The first part of the mountain is virtually the same. Return to the lava waterfall area to start the real journey. Once at the waterfall, hop over the lava river and make your way to the small cave entrance near the river. Watch out for the Red Blasterbots here, so destroy them all. Before, the cave was sealed of, but now you can make your way through.

The Lower Caves---------------Defeat the Yellow Ninjaroids wating at the entrance of the cave and continue to the first intersection. First, go to the right and break the stone pillars and head back to the left. You will come to a hole with a lava geyser. Harden it with Hydro Blast and use it as a stepping stone to get to the other side.

Go to the dead end at the far end of the cave to find two chests with Joules and Iron Parts in them. Return to the lava geysers and head to the other side of the cave this time. You will find an Apply Pastry in a chest in a corner of the cave. Use the Gecko Gloves to climb the shimmering wall to the top. You will come to an area where the rocks will give under you. Run across to avoid falling into the lava below.

Defeat the Red Galvabots here and take out the group of Oddballs with Maelstrom. Continue to the end of the cave and destroy the capsule to free Pepper, the head chef and owner of Pepper's Grill. Use the checkpoint here, but turn around and go down the other path down the cave. You will find a Possum Burger at the end. Return to the checkpoint and head through to exit the cave.

Firebombs Away!---------------Things are really starting to get hot here! The next two chambers are active and magma rocks and fireballs will come spewing from the lava below. Stay on your toes and cross the bridge ahead. Take out the Yellow Ninjaroids and Oddballs all in one Maelstrom. Once they're disposed of, head up the ledges and turn to the left.

Jump on the stepping stone and continue down the trail. Once you reach the lava geysers, douse them with Hydro Blast. Jump up on them to get to the high ground. Another Maelstrom will kill the Oddballs and Red Galvabots. Grab the Nebullium Jar in the chest to the left and head right, past the Blasterbots, to the exit.

Fahrenheit Rising-----------------It's a lot worse in here, as there will be times where lava will gush out across the trails for several seconds. Make sure to stay away from these to avoid getting burnt to a crisp. Destroy the Yellow Ninjaroids and Red Galvabots up ahead and wait for the lava to disappear in order to jump across to the other platform. Quickly run past the lava pit and grab the Salmon

Page 26: Musashi Samurai Legend

Onigiri in the chest farther down the path.

Proceed along the main path and double jump to the left after the fire subsides. Break the capsule at the end to free Sybella. Return back to the other path and kill the Ninjaroids and Galvabots. Enter the cave to come face to face with the denizen of the volcano.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Moltan

First off, smash the stones at the entrance to grab some powerups and Drop down to start the battle. Equip the Sword of Water, because you will need it for this fight. You will be fighting Moltan on this giant rock as the fire beast stays in the lava surrounding you.

His basic attack is a claw swipe, where he will attempt to smack you around with his giant hands. His next attack is where he will spit four flaming rocksup in the air. Run from one side of the platform to the other to avoid the rocks. Moltan's last attack is where he will slam his hands on the ground, creating a shockwave.

His hands will stay on the ground for several seconds, and this is the time to attack. Use Hydro Blast on his hands to freeze his hands. Jump on the hardened one to get closer to Moltan's head. Now repeatedly use Hydro Blast on his head. You may only get one or two shots in, but that's alright. Moltan will rip his hardened hands off and regrow new ones as he dives into the lava. The disembodied hands will turn into powerups, so grab them before they disappear. Look for rising flames to signal where Moltan will pop up next.

Moltan will change up his attacks as the battle goes on. Once you take out more and more of his health, the attacks become deadlier. Now his claw swipe attack will be even more powerful, as he will shoot flaming streaks at you.

Dodge them as well as his giant hands. Also, Moltan will not only shoot four boulders, but now he will release up to 10. When you get on Moltan's hardened hands, he will start to shoot gusts of air in an attempt to blow you off and mess up your aim. Hydro Blast his face as quickly as possible to avoid this. The battle will take a while, and make sure to use MP replenishing items throughout the fight or else you'll be in trouble.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Rite of Transfer----------------Return to Mirabo and Maribo once you have defeated Moltan and they will glady give you the Sword of Fire. The three head to the Chamber of Rites and complete the Rite of Transfer. Musashi gets the new sword, which can use the power Pyro Blast. This new attack can shoot fireballs to light torches or to torch enemies. Rest and save your game once you complete the chapter.

============================================================================== FILLET OF ANGRY ANGLER [0409]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Stew for Dinner, Tea for Dessert--------------------------------Once you're rested up, head to Pepper's Grill and talk to Pepper. She asks Musashi to get her a serving of Angry Angler, which are located deep in Picodon Jungle. When the converstaion ends, talk to Trixie the waitress and pull out your sword (this is an exception). When she slices the fish, duplicate the attack to learn Fish Fillet; it's essential for this mission.

Head over to the Chief's Quarters and talk to Mycella. She will give you

Page 27: Musashi Samurai Legend

Mycella's Ring, which reduces the MP needed for Maelstrom. Equip it and head over to the Arena. You can get a really good item now, so participate in the "War on Terroir" event to win Twins' Headband. It reduced the MP for the Sword of Fire's power, which you will be using a lot in the next area. Head to Banon's Office to head off.

~- Picodon Jungle -~==============================================================================

Swimming Upstream-----------------Picodon Jungle is a nice breath of fresh air since your last dungeon. This lush tropical jungle is filled with strange creatures and perilous landscape. It'll be an interesting trip, let me tell you that. Turn around and break the pots to get Joules and head down the path. Take out the Green Ninjaroids and proceed into the clearing. Musashi will meet up with a swordwoman who tells you to get out as soon as possible.

You can't go left in the fork, so continue straight ahead. You will meet up with Shadowbeans, black creatures that are conposed of giant leaves. Take out one of them and wait for it to charge at you with its pointy beak. Charge up and get hit by this attack to duplicate Shooting Star.

Continue down through the jungle after you defeat the two and leap onto the tree trunks. Break the capsule to free Nox. The next tree trunk has a leaf on it. A Ninja Trooper is hiding under it, so take caution as you jump over. He will pop out and throw his knife-edge boomerang at you. Jump back to the previous stump and charge up.

Duplicate his boomerang attack to learn the Karmic Circle ability. Take him out and jump across the trunks. You will find a Juggleranium. You can't duplicate his attack het, so just kill him for goodies. Continue across the tree trunks and defeat the Ninja Troopers and Shadowbeans. Head into the water and jump up on more trunks. Take out the Ninja Trooper at the top and enter the cave in the waterfall.

The Watery Cave---------------Enter the cave with Fish Fillet selected and get ready to practice the attack. When you see an Angry Angler, it will swim towards you. Use Fish Fillet just as it leaps up to bite you, and you should slice it into three pieces. Take out all the fish here and hop up the stone ledges in the center of the cave. Once at the top, you will find a torch. Use the Sword of Fire's power, Pyro Blast, to set the torch aflame. A flying beetle will come to the scene. Hop on its back to have it carry you to higher ground. Don't exit just yet; go to the right. Take out the Green Ninjaroids and use Pyro Blast on the next torch. Hitch a ride on the beetle that comes to you and get off when it stops. Destroy the capsule ahead to free Pecorino. Return down to the other level and exit the cave.

Woodsy Walkways---------------Drop off of the ledge to the jungle floor to find enemies by the masses. Takeout the Shadowbeans that pursue you and make your way to the far right corner,where you will find a body of water. Cross it and destroy the Juggleranium onthe other side. Open the chest to get Steel Parts. Now you will have to climbthe trees. Climb up the tree to the left of the pond.

Take out the Ninja Trooper and follow the walkway to the tunnel, where youwill find a chest with a Star-Shaped Toy in it. Head to the northwest cornerof the map and climb the tree. Run across the bridges past the torch to find achest containing Magic Alloy.

Return to the torch and light it. The beetles will also two Ninja Troopers. Stay on the middle bug and attack the Ninja Troopers with Whirling Dervish. Head through the checkpoint once the beetles stop and head through to the next section.

Page 28: Musashi Samurai Legend

Jungle River------------Equip your Great Oar here and get ready to unlesh Maelstrom on the hordes of Shadowbeans once you drop down. Break all the gourds for Joules and make your way towards the waterfall. Open the chest to the left of th waterfall for some Iron Parts. Proceed along the path across the waterfall and slash through the Green Ninjaroids. Whenever you encounter a pile of leaves, use Pyro Blast to get a massive amount of Joules. Continue past the river, taking out the Ninjaroids in your way. Jump up the tree stump to find a chest with Magic Alloy in it.

Use Pyro Blast to light the torch to the right of the chest. Jump to the beetle that flies down and and climb up the tree. Defeat the Ninja Troopers along the way and ride the second beetle into the cave.

A Fish to Fry-------------The beetle will drop you off into a cave where the Yellow Angry Angler makes its home. Grab the Steak Dinner from the chest in the corner and select Fish Fillet ability. Stand in front of the fish to get its attention, and use Fish Fillet right when it starts to jump out of the water. You should slice it into three pieces if done correctly. Once you grab the Angler Fillet, replenish all HP and MP, because the trip out of the cave is a lot more dangerous than it was on the way in.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Crimson Gorger

As Musashi hitches a ride on the three beetles, a giant insect crashes through the cave wall. You must use the three beetles as platforms to fight and avoid this creatures attacks. The Crimson Gorger will start the battle by spewing fireballs at you. Hop from beetle to beetle (you can't fall off of them) to avoid the fireballs. The insect spends most of the battle feasting on your beetle buddies.

His second attack is where he will close his mouth for a couple seconds and home in on one beetle. The giant beast will then pull back and snatch the beetle out of the air. Make sure you're not standing on the victim or else you'll get eaten too. If that happens, repeatedly hit Square to free yourself and avoid the fate of the beetle. A new beetle will take the place of the fallen one.

The best way to attack the beast is to use Pyro Blast as he dines on a beetle. Shoot it in the Crimson Gorger's mouth to damage him. His next attack is harder to dodge. The Crimson Gorger will dive underwater and wait for several seconds. It will then jump out of the water and grab a beetle in its mouth. Start to attack it when it feasts on the bug.

His next attack is great, considering it leaves the big guy open for attack for a while. The giant insect will fly behind you and grab one of the beetles with his tongue. He starts to pull the beetles towards his mouth until he can chomp down on it. Jump to another beetle and repeatedly use Pyro Blast on his face. Once you deplete enough of his health, the Crimson Gorger will fly into another section of the cave where an even larger beast lives.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Great Crimson Gorger

The Great Crimson Gorger is a larger version of the Crimson Gorger. It looks like the predator becomes the prey as the Great Crimson Gorger ambushes the Crimson Gorger and eats it. The battle is more or less the same, yet his attacks are bigger and more dangerous. The fireballs that he shoots out are bigger and harder to avoid. He will still use attacks that the Crimson Gorger used, like diving underwater and his tongue attack. You should know how to dodge them by now.

Page 29: Musashi Samurai Legend

The Great Crimson Gorger has one new attack. He will turn around and start to shoot lightning bolts out of its tail. Double jump from bug to bug as you leap over the lightning as it comes towards to you. The lightning will branch into two bolts, so avoiding it is a lot tougher. Continue to use Pyro Blast as it snacks on the beetles and hopefully you brought a lot of MP and HP replenishing items. If not, then these two battles will be a lot harder. Keep attacking with Pyro Blast and you will take down the big guy as well as escape out of the cave.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Hellstew Coming Right Up!-------------------------Once you return to Antheum, visit Mugwort to upgrade your sword if you have been following the guide and getting all of the Magic Alloy. After, head to Pepper's Grill and give her the Angler Fillet. She will return from the kitchen with a new item on the menu: Hellstew. If you taste some of it, you will lose 5 HP (I guess it's really hot!) but you will get +5 Strength!

Pepper will give you some Hellstew to give to Geldbrenner. Exit the grill and head to the Inventions store. Give Geldbrenner the Hellstew and he will hand you Waterbug Shoes. These let you walk on water!

Now you can return to Wellspring Woods and get those treature chests in the middle of the lake. The chest there contains Magic Alloy, so I recommend getting it.

Big Trouble in Little Antheum-----------------------------Head to your Quarters to rest. As you sleep, Clochette sneaks into Antheum and kidnaps Mycella again! Banon is concerned, and head to his office to reassure that you'll get her back once again.

============================================================================== THE FORMER CHAMPION [0410]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Making the Rounds in Antheum----------------------------Talk to Golovnin in the Arena to discuss the former champion. He says that Istara, the Maiden of Wind, was the best fighter in the arena, but he hasn't seen her in over a year. He thinks she lives in Picodon Jungle and gives Musashi the Champion's Belt to bring to her. This is a good time to stock up on supplies, so buy some items and check Appraisals for any valuable items. When you're ready, go to Banon's Office and head to Picodon Jungle once more!

~- Picodon Jungle -~==============================================================================

Meeting the Maiden------------------You will appear where you first started off last time, but now you can to west across the water. Use your new Waterbug Shoes and walk across the water. Open the chest on the stump to find Magic Alloy, then cross to dry land. Destroy the Ninja Troopers and Ninja Troopers and climb the nearby tree. Enter to find yourself inside the tree. You will see a giant spider web sac with something caught inside.

Slash it down to gree Istara, the girl you encountered before. She asks who you are, and the response you choose determines your title (check section 9 for more details). She wants you to not only carry her, but free the Picobeans across the jungle. I wonder if we'll ever get a break from carrying

Page 30: Musashi Samurai Legend

chicks...

Pick her up and start up the spiral path around the tree. You can use the spider webs as a trampoline to get to higher ground. Once you reach the exit, head outside and and cross the bridge. Slash down the sac to free your first PICOBEAN. Put Istara down to defeat the Ninja Troopers and Red Galvabot, then pick her up and proceed. The next spider webs are homes to Arachnukes. These spiders will puff up. If they turn red, then they will explode, dealing a lot of damage.

Destroy them before they blow up. Take the nest out, then jump on the spider web. You should see a sac hanging up top. Jump up to it using the spider web, then slash it to free another PICOBEAN. You can find another PICOBEAN on the same spider web, across from the other one. Pick up Istara and jump from web to web as you make your way to the entrance in the tree. Enter the tree and go through the checkpoint. Istara can walk now, and she will leave telling you to free the rest of the Picobeans.

The Lower Jungle----------------Exit the tree outside once again. This area has a whirlpool in the center with a spinning log. Jump onto the log and dispose of the Ninja Troopers. Wait for the log to spin and jump to the right platform. Slash down the sac to find another PICOBEAN, then jump back to the log. From here, go right and use Pyro Blast to burn the pile of leaves in the corner. It will reveal a hole in the ground, so why not jump down? Drop down to find yourself in a cavern.

Cut down the sac to free another PICOBEAN. It will pray to the Picobean statue, revealing a passage. Head down the passage to find a capsule. Break it to free Leyden and open the chest for a Piece of White Fabric. Return to the cavern and bounce back to the other area. This time, head to the only other way left to go.

Battle past the Juggleraniums and Green Ninjaroids as you enter a canyon. Enter through the hole in the tree at the end of the canyon. Free the PICOBEAN ahead and take out the two Arachnukes. Jump up on the webs and make your way to the opening of the tree. Head through and open the chest to find Hachimaki.

There is a well hidden PICOBEAN to the right. It's pretty tricky to get, since you have to double jump off of the platform and slash it in midair. You will land on the spider web where you fought the Arachnuke nest, so backtracking will take a while if you happen to miss the guy. Once you free him, bounce on the spider webs towards the opening in the tree where the checkpoint was.

The Upper Jungle----------------Continue through the checkpoint once more and now jump up the spider webs to bounce to higher ground. Exit the tree to find yourself on the outside of it. Walk up the spiraling path and destroy the Ninja Troopers. Free the next PICOBEAN in plain sight and climb up the tree. Drop down to the platform and make your way past the enemies to another opening in the tree. Bounce up the webs until you reach a torch. Use Pyro Blast on it and hitch a ride on the beetle that comes over to you.

Exit the tree once the bug stops and drop down to the lower ground. Here you will be outside again, where you'll get ganged up on by Red Galvabots and Ninja Troopers. Take them all out and make your way onto the gigantic web. Use Pyro Blast to make short work of the Arachnuke and their nest. Enter the opening to find yourself in another tree. Jump across the gap and head outside again. Now you're right above the large web. Open the chest at the far end for some Mythril Parts and use Karmic Circle to free the PICOBEAN.

Drop down to the large web and enter the tree again. This time, drop down to the lower ground. The whole ground is a giant web, so jump up to find another sac with a PICOBEAN in it. That was the last Picobean you can get, so relax now! There is a chest in the corner with Folded Cardboard inside. Use the web

Page 31: Musashi Samurai Legend

to bounce up on the ledge, where you can go through the opening.

Head across the spiraling platform towards an entrance to a tree. Head inside and cross the ledges to the exit. Head through to exit the tree and go around the platform, slashing through the enemies along the way. Head through the next entranceway and climb the ledges towards the next exit. Continue through and cross the bridge to find another Mystic capsule. Break it to free Selfie. Climb the tree and make your way around the tree. Use Karmic Circle on the sac to free a beetle, which will fly to another tree.

Return the way you came and reenter the tree. Double jump to the uppermost exit and make your way through. Step on the beetle to have it take you to the most sacred area of the jungle. Once you're there, you will encounter a large beast that used to be the guardian of the jungle. The bad part is that Malbec corrupted it into killing you!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Arachnolia

This battle is the hardest you've fought so far, so get ready for a long fight! The beast is exceptionally larger than you, so even its tiny feet pose quite a threat to you. It will begin by jumpin into the air and crashing down. It will stretch its legs out into a walking stance, so you can get flicked to the side by its feet. Arachnolia can shoot webs at you. If you're caught in a web, repeatedly press Square while moving the left analog to the left and right. To avoid the webs, run under Arachnolia.

The evil spider also drops pods on the ground, which will fire seeds in all directions. Its most common attack is where it spins around, knocking anything out in its way. Take not that Arachnolia can and will drop Arachnukes to deal with you. This is a good thing, since they often drop HP and MP balls.

The first part of the battle is the easiest. Your task at hand is to damage Arachnolia's four legs. The easiest way to do this is to run under its legs and use Maelstrom, but that uses a lot of MP, even with Mycella's Ring on. You need all the MP you can get, so individually slash each leg. Once all four legs are damaged, Arachnolia will retreat up onto the ceiling in an attempt to heal itself.

The first time this happens, the Picobean Chief will thank Musashi by planting four seeds around the room. The seeds grow into large flowers that tower up to the ceiling. Head to the closest flower and use the spider web on the ground to jump up to it. Once on the flower, equip the Sword of Fire and aim at Arachnolia. You must use Pyro Blast and hit the glowing purple underside of the beast.

You can even save MP by jumping on Arachnolia and using a Chain Attack on the underbelly, but it's better used later in the battle when you're almost out of MP. It will drop to the ground after a successfull attack or two. You will have to repeat this entire process over again; like I said, this fight takes a while. With some patience and plenty of MP, Arachnolia will finally lose.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

An Award for Musashi--------------------With Arachnolia defeated, the Picobean Chief will thank Musashi. He may have killed their guardian, but Arachnolia is better off free than being tortured by Malbec's device. He will give you a prize depending on how many Picobeans you freed.

Musashi will give Istara the Champion's Belt.

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Once in Antheum again, Istara will give Musashi the Sword of Wind. They proceed with the Rite of Transfer, and the sword's latent power is unlocked. Hurlwind lets Musashi fire a tornado out of the sword. It can damge enemies as well as pick them up. It's useful for activating switches that you can't reach on foot. Go back to your Quarters to rest up and save your game.

============================================================================== LA FEMME CLOCHETTE [0411]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Banon is Vexed--------------Banon learns that Clochette is behind the kidnapping of Mycella. She is Gandrake's assistant, but also the Maiden of Void. Visit Taleggion on the third floor and talk to him. He says that after some investigating, he's learned that Clochette has brought to Mouna Temple. Mouna Temple is a very dangerous place, so make sure to stock up on a LOT of HP and MP replenishing items. Once you're ready, head to Banon's Office and make way to the temple.

~- Mouna Temple -~==============================================================================

Finding Clochette-----------------You will begin the mission in a canyon outside of the temple. Head to the entrance to encounter several Vault Keepers. These undead beings are slow, but tough. Use Whirling Dervish to slice them in two, but watch out! They can still attack you if they are split into two pieces. Dispose of each half to finally defeat them. Destroy all of them and head left to find some urns. Destroy them for various pickups, then return to the entrance and head inside.

Smash the urns and head down the stairs. Destroy the Vault Guardians, but ignore the Blorbs for now. These slimy blobs will morph into various shapes and attack you. Lock onto one and wait for it to turn into a cube. Duplicate the attack to learn Inner Refuge. This is a very useful attack that makes Musashi invincible at the cost of his MP. Destroy all of them and go up the stairs to the rigth. Make your way around the corner and through the door.

Clochette screams out to Musashi as soon as he enters the dungeon. She pleads for him to help her escape out of the cage she's suspended in. She apologizes for everything and tells Musashi that the only reason she even worked for Gandrake is because she had no other choice. She says that the only way to free her is to defeat the three enemies in the dungeon. Equip the Sword of Wind and head up the nearby staircase. You will find the first enemy soon.

This is a Vapor Knight. The only way to damage it is to use Hurlwind on it. Press L2 and Triangle to hit it and press it again to stop it. The armor will fall to the ground, revealing an orb. Slash the orb until it is destroyed; killing the beast. Head up the many staircases and defeat the other two the same way. Once they're all dead, Clochette will be freed. The other cages will open up, so raid them all for goodies. Open the chests at the top of the room to find a Useless Weapon and Steel Parts.

A Temple Tour with Clochette----------------------------Clochette will give you the Pricey Gem as a reward for saving her. You must carry Clochette throughout most of the temple. Exit the dungeon and you will be stopped by a Ninja Digitator and two White Ninjaroids. Ninja Digitators

Page 33: Musashi Samurai Legend

are magicians; they can use many devastating attacks against you. It will use its powers to replace Clochette with a bomb. Throw it up in the air and slash it before it blows up. It can also summon other Ninjaroids to aid it. Don't bother attacking it; just run away. Run up the steps on the west side of the room and head left to find a capsule. Break it to rescue Bel.

Turn around and head the other way to open a door. Head through to the next room. This next room branches off into four ways. It also serves as a home to an endless supply of Ninja Digitators. Run to the left down the corridor and make your way past the other enemies.

Enter the door to find yourself in the dungeon. Open the chest in the cage tofind Magic Alloy, then return to the previous room. Head down the hallwayacross from the entrance of the room. Ignore the enemies and go through thedoor here. Go down the corridor until you reach numerous pedestals.

Carefully jump from each one to the other side. The lower floor holds a chest with Iron Parts and a pedestal has a chest with a Possum Burger in it. Once at the other side, continue through the doorway. The next room is small and bare. Head through the doorway into the main room, then go left and avoid the enemies to the next area.

In the Spotlight!-----------------The next room has a giant spotlight in it. If you are seen, then all exits will close until the alarm is destroyed. Carefully carry Clochette down the stairs and through the doorway to the right. Use Clochette to bash the enemies out of your way as you pass through the next few rooms. The other room has a spotlight in it, but also has an acidic pool. Put Clochette down and wait for the acid to lower. Double jump over the gap to the left and climb the steps. Run behind the spotlight and destroy it. Return to the entrance and carry Clochette to safety.

The next room is pretty tricky. Put Clochette down and destroy the White Ninjaroids. Destroy the spotlight at the east side of the room. Carry Clochette into the next room and put her down to clear house. Double jump and climb up into the alcove. Defeat the enemies and break the capsule to free Mimolette. Destroy the spotlight to the left and drop down. Return to the previous room with Clochette where you will find four spotlights that go back and forth. Carefully maneuver past them to the next room.

The Poisoned Aqueduct---------------------The next room is very large and dangerous; most of the place consists of acid. You'll have to jump across the small platforms to get across. Go to the west side of the room to find a chest with Magic Alloy. Smash all the urns for powerups and head to the large platform next to it. A spotlight monitors the platform. Walk after it, then jump to the platform to the right and let it pass you. When it passes, jump back over and continue across.

Hop across the ledge to the other platform where you will find some Steel Parts down the stairs. Hop across the ledges to the other platform and make your way through the door by pressing X next to the door.

The Mystery Gate----------------Four Ninja Drillers will destroy the bridge that you two are on as it takes them with you. As it falls to the ground, bat the drillers away using Clochette as a battering ram. Once the platform falls to the ground, Shiraz and his Ninjaroid buddy drag Clochette to the "mystery gate" where they need to use her powers for their experiment. Smash the urns for HP and MP balls, then go through the door to start a cutscene and a battle.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Ashura

Ashura is the latest creation of Shiraz and his henchmen. As you fight this

Page 34: Musashi Samurai Legend

beast, Clochette is trapped in its torso. Ashura is a giant beast with six arms with a sword in each hand. Ashura wastes no time in starting the battle as he slams his swords into the ground, creating a massive shockwave. Jump over it to avoid damage. The swords will stay in the ground a bit. Check for which sword is glowing the brightest, and attack it.

I prefer using Banishing Blade until the sword breaks. Ashura will back up the attack by swinging the remaining swords. He will either swing it horizontal or vertical. You can't tell which way he will swing it, so dodging the attack is a pain. He will finally use an overhead slash attack, which results in a sword getting stuck in the ground. Attack it with Banishing Blade until it shatters.

Ashura will repeat this attack until you destroy the rest of his many weapons. Once they are all destroyed, he will summon a huge version of the Sword of Void. At first, the sword will swing down to the ground like a pendulum. Wait for it to stop, then use Banishing Blade or a Chain Attack on it. After a while, Ashura will try to grab you. Run away and watch for the sword to fall from the sky. Don't let it impale you!

If Ashura grabs you, repeatedly press Square while moving the left analog stick back and forth. Ashura will change things up another time. Avoid the shadow on the ground and wait for the sword to drop to the ground. It will spin around while shooting flames at you. Use a long range attack, such as Hydro Blast, to extinguish the flames and deal damage to the sword. Keep it up and Ashura will bite the dust.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The destruction of Ashura will not only free Clochette, but the Sword of Void will fall to the ground. Grab the sword and pick up Clochette as you make your way to the portal. You will teleport outside. Clochette will thank you, but not before pickpocketing Musashi and taking the Pricy Gem back!

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Fashionably Late----------------Clochette enters the Chief's Quarters to change into clothing for the Rite of Transfer. If you happen to try to open the door while Clochette is getting changed, you'll earn the "Peeping" title. You naughty boy, you!

============================================================================== MUSIC TO JOG THE MEMORY [0412]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

What's that Infernal Racket?----------------------------First off, head off to Pepper's Grill and talk to Trixie. Duplicate her attack to learn the Slice and Dice ability! Next, head to the first floor to witness a confrontation between Selfie and Nox. Nox will comment on Selfie's musical ability, resulting in his lute smashing straight on Nox's head! The lute is busted, and Selfie's heartbroken. He asks Musashi to head to Mouna Temple in order to retireve a legendary luteFound there. Musashi accepts, figuring that Clochette is still getting changed. Rest and save, then head to Banon's Office to Mouna Temple.

~- Mouna Temple -~==============================================================================

On Familiar Ground------------------The whole temple has been revamped into a futuristic state. No longer will it look decrepit, and the Vault Keepers are no more. As time went backwards, the temple went to its former state and the Vault Keepers are now Vault

Page 35: Musashi Samurai Legend

Guardians. Head to the entrance to the temple, but this time you will fight Vapor Knights here. Destroy them all and enter the temple.

Once inside, destroy more Vapor Knights and Blorbs in the central floor. Go straight ahead until you reach the wall, then continue right through the door, defeating the Blorbs as you go. You will be in the hub room again. Defeat the Ninja Digitators and Red Ninjaroids here. Go to the right to find a room with a laser trap. Use Hurlwind on the nearby Blorb and carry it over the lasers. Place it on the switch to deactivate the lasers. If you mess up, another Blorb will appear. Break the capsule on the other side to free Raclette.

From this room, go right and you will face a Vault Guardian. These guys are a lot bigger than the Vault Keepers you fought before. It will begin by throwing its mace at you. Attack the mace repeadly as it drags back to it to destroy the weapon. Now the guardian will use an axe. Lock on and when your focus is charged, get hit by the axe and duplicate that attack. You'll learn Celestial Strike, the strongest attack move you can duplicate. It will also use a shield, but you can destroy that as well. Keep hacking away until it is dead, and the doors will open. Head through the doorway to the next area.

Laser Avoidance---------------In this next room, proceed to the pillar and jump up to to top. Leap over the laser trap and head to the pedestals. It's easier to jump across considering you're not carrying anyone, but it's also a bit harder since there is a moving laser trap. It goes horizontally across the pillars, so jump over it when it passes you. Continue until you reach the other side where some Blorbs are waiting. Kill them all and enter the door.

The next room has a very tight network of lasers securing the ground. There is a platform with a switch far away. Use Hurlwind on the nearby Blorb and drop him on the switch to deactivate the lasers. Drop down and head towards the green cube. Break it with your katana to reveal a chest. Open it to get some Magic Alloy. Fall off of the ledge, destroy the Vault Guardian, and go through the door.

The next passage holds a lot of enemies, and you must defeat them all to unlock the exit. Take out the Red Ninjaroids first with a quick Maelstrom, then focus on the Vault Guardians. Once they are all gone, continue through the exit. Next you'll be in a waterlogged room. Jump to the left and proceed up the ledges to find a lot of golden urns. Break them all for goodies, then return back to the passage. Continue on to the next area.

Here, go straight into the next room with the laser trap. There is no way to avoid it, so the only thing to do is stand in the middle and use Inner Refuge. The lasers will pass through you and you'll be fine. Once it passes, run up the stairs and open the chest to find Magic Alloy. Head back to the hallway and go down the passage. Destroy all of the enemies and go through the door leading to the aqueduct.

Fresh Water Aqueduct--------------------When you enter, you'll realize that there's no more acid. With the Waterbug Shoes on, drop down into the water and run to the platform in the corner. Jump up on it and open the chest for a Garlic Talisman. Return to the entrance and follow the path towards the mystic capsule.

Break the capsule to free the next Mystic, Colby. If you wish, you can head tothe room where the Ninja Drillers broke the bridge. If you go there, the bridge will be in perfect shape and you can cross to the other side, where youwill find Mythril Parts, Pig Tooth, and Magic Alloy. Anyways, jump into the water and head to the left doorway right near the entrance to the aqueduct. Now you'll enter the labyrinth.

Labyrinth of Despair--------------------Walk through the checkpoint when you first enter the labyrinth. Walk into the

Page 36: Musashi Samurai Legend

first room and kill the enemies here. Break the two green cubes covering the wall to reveal an opening. Walk through the next two rooms until you reach a dead end.

Wait until the lasers pass, then break the cubes and go to the right. Walk around the indestrictible blocks and you should find a chest with a Vault Guardian Imagicard in it. Return to the previous room and go left this time. From here, keep going straight. If you want a Pork Pot Pie, go right into the next room. If not, then keep going left through the rooms.

The final room in the corner is guarded by lasers. Use Inner Refuge to protect yourself from the lasers, then break the green blocks to enter the last room. Open all of the chests here. You will find Joules, more Joules, Iron Parts, Steel Parts, White Furball, and the Soaring V Electric Lute. With the lute in hand, a portal to Antheum appears. Head through to complete your mission.

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Rock & Ritual-------------After you get the new lute back, Musashi will give it to Selphie. In gratitude, he'll play a concert in the middle of Antheum and give you the Black Disk. Afterwards, head to the Chief's Quarters and talk to Clochette. They will partake in the Rite of Transfer, where you unlock the Sword of Void's latent power. It's power, Shadow Warrior, turns Musashi invisible at the cost of his MP. Save and rest after you're done.

============================================================================== THE FINAL SHOWDOWN [0413]==============================================================================

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Loose Ends----------This is the final mission, as the title says. Once you accept the mission, there's no turning back. This is the last time where you can partake in the many activities in Antheum. Bring any unidentified items to the Appraisals. The White Furball becomes the Hare Ring, which raises your Focus significantly. This allows you to duplicate attacks from the Vapor Knight and Juggleranium. You can now learn the Decoy attack from Master Mew in the Dojo.

This is also the last time you can partake in any Arena matches. I recommend completing them all to get a lot of Joules and helpful items. You should visit Mugwort and get your sword tempered for the last time. There is no point in saving your Joules (there are no shops at Rampart Isle), so use up all your money on HP and MP replenishing items, as well as other goodies. When you're finally ready, head to Banon's Office to accept the quest.

Travel Arrangements-------------------When you're at Banon's Office, he will tell you that Rampart Isle is protected by a force field that repels the Anthedon. With no other way to enter the island, the crew is clueless. Leave the office and pay Geldbrenner a visit at the Inventions shop. Talk to him, and he will invent a Jet Board which allows you to reach the island undetected. Proceed to Banon's Office again to access the world map. Go to Rampart Isle, and the Anthedon will stop as close as they can get as Musashi rides to the island on his new Jet Board.

~- Rampart Isle -~==============================================================================

Breaking and Entering---------------------

Page 37: Musashi Samurai Legend

Once Musashi enters the beach, he will be greeted by the Board of Directors. They all swap words, and Malbec will use his latest creation on Musashi. He'll imprison Musashi in a capsule just like the Mystics, but this one saps his health.

Once the scene ends, press Triangle to break out. If not, then your health will slowly depleted. Once freed, take out the Ninjaroids and ride the elevator. Instead of going inside, jump up the cliff wall to the left and youwill find a Fugu Onigiri in a chest. Return to the entrance and continue inside.

The next room hosts an endless amount of White Ninjaroids, which means it's a good place to level up. Ignore the elevator for now. Anyways, head to the right side of the wall and walk off the edge. You'll land on a small platform. Turn around and slash the lever to make the shield disappear around the elevator. Use the Gecko Gloves to climb up the glass to the top again, and ride the elevator.

Here, you will have to face security bots. These snake-like robots will regenerate unless you defeat them all simultaneously. The best way to do that is so stand in the center and use Maelstrom on them. Once they are all dead, a bridge will appear leading to the other side.

As you walk across the bridge, you will face various Ninjaroids. At the end of the bridge is a Ninjaroid 2.0, the most deadly Ninjaroid model and the most difficult enemy in the game. These guys are very fast and acrobatic and are capable to flipping around to dodge your attacks.

First, block as it attacks and hit it a couple times. When you see it glow red, lock on to it. It will cover itself in flames, and this attack can be duplicated. Duplicate it to learn the final ability, Kiai. This can increaseyour Strength at the cost of your MP. Kill the Ninjaroid 2.0 and make your waythrough the door at the end.

Light My Fire-------------In this room, defeat all of the enemies and head up the staircase. The exit is locked, so we must find a way to unlock it. There is a giant flaming pot in the center of the room, right under the exit. Stand on either ramp leading up to the exit and use Hydro Blast on it two times to extinguish the flames. This will unlock the exit, letting you continue on.

The next room is pretty small and there are four Ninjaroids that constantly respawn. They're the weak ones, so defeating them is a breeze. There are four neon green squares in each corner of the room. They act as a trampoline, similar to the spider webs in Picodon Jungle.

Hop on and bounce up to the ledge above. The pots here are unlit, so use Pyro Blast to light it. Light all four to unlock the door. Exit and head on through. You'll fight another Ninjaroid 2.0 as you enter the new area. Defeat it quickly as well as the Sumoroid.

You'll be trapped on the side of the platform, for the gap is too far to jump across. Use Hurlwind on the respawning Ninjaroid and place it on the switch to lower a drawbridge. Cross the bridge and kill the Ninjaroid that you just used, and open the chests. You will find a Gargoyle Gulp and a CelestialSpecial. Now head through the door to the next area.

Assembly Row Blues------------------This next area is a giant Galvabot assembly line. Walk on the belt through the hole in the fence and proceed down the assembly line, but watch out for the machines doing their work. You may notice fenced off areas; you can't go there on the first playthrough of the game. Once you beat the game and play through a second time, they will be open. I haven't played the game 2 times yet, so I don't know what lies beneath them.

Anyways, make your way to the end of the assembly line and walk out of the hole in the fence. Climb the ladder and use Shadow Warrior before you go

Page 38: Musashi Samurai Legend

across the catwalk. There is a crane at the top, and it will pick you up and drop you down to the lower floor if you're seen. While invisible, run across and through to the next area.

The next room is similar to the last room, but there is no assembly line. Instead, there are dozens of tanks that hold Ninjaroids. Intentionally get caught by the crane and go to the lower floor. You can break them open to get powerups. Beware, some Ninjaroids will pop out and attack you. Some tanks even hold Ninjaroid 2.0s! Even so, destroy them all to train and get the goods. Afterwards, get back up and use Shadow Warrior as you avoid the security crane. Don't bother going across the other catwalk; run through the door to meet up with the first board member.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Malbec

You really can't expect to fight a 10-year old nerd hand to hand, can you? Malbec will spend most of the time utilizing his wacky inventions throughout the battle. The battle takes place in a circular room with six glowing portals circulated around the room. Malbec will float around the room while calmly sitting in a chair.

He is accompanied by four gun-toting Ninja Lab Girls who will gun you down inan instance, so watch out. When Malbec appears, run over and begin to slash athim. Ignore the Lab Girls, because they will respawn anyways. Soon after yourassault on Malbec, he will disappear along with his evil lackeys.

Malbec will appear on all six portals. Obviously, only one of the six is thereal one. You can slash each and every one of them (the fakes will simply disappear) until you find the real one, but let's not waste all that time. He will be preparing his capsule cannon and when ready, he'll shoot one of those black capsules at you, which damages you if hit.

Go to the center of the arena with Mycella's Ring and Great Oar equipped, and use Maelstrom to hit all six, giving you an automatic hit on the real one. He will whine and disappear again. He will reappear with his Lab Girls again, ready to fire. Repeat this process over and over again until Malbec falls to his demise in the pit below. Once you kill Malbec, you will recive the Lever.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Frozen Access-------------Once Malbec is disposed of, return to the Ninjaroid chamber and proceed down the other catwalk. Remember to have Shadow Warrior enabled as you head to the other side. Press X in front of the broken machine to attach the lever on. The lever will open a pathway in the lower floor. Drop down and head through to the next area.

Triple Your Pleasure--------------------Smash all the urns here and hop on the elevator to be taken to the middle floor. Upon entering the middle floor, turn around and head down the corridor. Destroy all of the Red Ninjaroids and Galvabots. Head through the portal to be teleported in a resting spot. Open all the chests to find two Celestial Specials, a Cyclops Smoothie, a Titan Brew, and a Gandrake Imagicard. Step through the checkpoint and return through the portal.

Return to the elevator and this time take the rightmost path. Dispose of the enemies down the hallway and break the urns at the end of the hall. Once you're replenished of HP and MP, step through the portal for yes, yet another boss fight. Well hey, I like 'em.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Glogg & Riesling

This is a very interesting fight, especially since you're fighting two dudes here. The fight will take place on a circular platform, and each guy will

Page 39: Musashi Samurai Legend

stand next to each other. One will begin to swing his weapon around; don't bother him. The other guy will stand and wait there. Run up to the stationary one and use Celestial Strike on him. You can only only get one hit off before he disappears and reappers to the side. Keep attacking him with Celestial Strike one hit at a time.

Once both men are opposite from each other, whomever was swinging his weapon will throw it at the other guy. The other guy will hit it back to him, stunning the thrower momentarily. This attack creates a huge explosion and can take around a third of your health out, so watch out for this. Use this opportunity to attack the stunned opponent with a Chain Attack. The other guy will rush to his aid, so run away.

When both are recovered, they will criss-cross around the arena, ramming into you if you happen to be in the way. Stay near the edges of the arena to avoid contact as much as possible. Now the roles will switch. Whomever was swinging their weapon will now stand there. The guy who just stood there before will now swing around his weapon. You will have to repeat this process over and over again. If you don't have any MP replenishing items with you, the battle will take a long time since you can only get one hit off before the guy disappears. If not, then it's a breeze.

Once you defeat one of your opponents, they will fall to their doom. The opponent left standing will swing around their weapon. Think of it as if youare the defeated guy. The guy left standing will swing around his weapon andthrow it at you, as if you're the one to bat it away. Instead, run away fromthe thrown weapon and attack the thrower when he is stunned. Now he will criss-cross around the arena in an attempt to hit you. Once that's done, hewill now stand there and do nothing. That will give you a perfect opportunityto charge the lone attacker.

Since no one is left to swing or throw your weapon, the roles will switch after a given amount of time. I know this strategy sounds REALLY confusing, but this fight is really frickin' weird. You'll get the hang of it when you're fighting them, so don't worry. Once Glogg and Riesling are defeated, you will return to the previous area.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Who's Next?-----------Once back in the three-pronged area, return to the elevator once again. This time, make your way down the left corridor. Defeat all of the enemies and brek the urns at the back of the room to fill up your HP and MP. Step into the warp portal for a very tough battle!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Shiraz

Don't you love really hard fights? What else would you expect from the silent but deadly warrior? Shiraz has catlike reflexes and an arsenal of strong and quick attacks. Be on the defensive for most of this fight, or else you're toast. Shiraz will start off with a series of quick swipes, ending with an uppercut. He will pause for a split second after the uppercut, so quickly stop blocking and use a Chain Attack on him before he disappears behind you.

Shiraz will also use a dive attack, but dodge and use Leaping Tiger or Celestial Strike to deal a hell of a lot of damage to him. His other combo leaves him vulnerable at the end. He will rapidly punch you, ending with a fisted punch that will send you backwards if not blocked. Counterattack by using Leaping Tiger on him.

Shiraz also has a long range attack that is deadly when not blocked at all times. He will retreat to the edge of the arena and crouch down. When you see this, immediately block. Shiraz will estend his pointy tail in an attempt to pierce you with it. When the attack ends, run up to him and slash him. If you don't attack in time, he'll continue with a second attack. Shiraz will jump in the air and extend several blades in your direction. Block and when he falls back to the ground, use Celestial Strike on him.

Page 40: Musashi Samurai Legend

Timing is everything in this battle, because if you wait too long to damage Shiraz, he will disappear and render your attack useless. It really becomes annoying if you try to use an attack that uses MP, because it just went to waste if you miss. This battle really tests your combat skills, for it's impossible to block all of his attacks. You must think quickly instead of just mindlessly slashing away; it's all about counterattacking. Remember, you have a lot of Celestial Specials with you; use them! Once you defeat Shiraz, pat yourself on the back, because that was quite possibly the toughest bossfight in the game!

~- Alternate Strategy (by Shu) -~

Hello, IFound that Shiraz was the easiest fight. ALL you need to do is equip the ability decoy. Everytime he attacks, you appear behind him. Now you can either (if you have a lot of MP ) use Pyro Blast or (no MP) use the combo Square, Square, Square, Square, 360 Square. If you can do that, you can do huge amounts of damage to him for no MP. Either way is good. You always have enough time to attack him from behind. When he does the jump attack, lock-on and wait guard, you'll appear behind him for when he lands, you can use the above mentioned combo.

I had huge attack ratings, because that's all i increased the whole time, but if your rating is over 100, you should pretty easily be able to kill him. It took me 5 combos and he was dead. If you DO get hit by an attack, it's best to just live without the health, because the elevator ride can use up quite a bit of health recovery items if your defence sucked as much as mine. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Going Up?---------When you return to the corridor, defeat all of the enemies as you make your way to the elevator. This time, you can access the top floor of the base. Step on the elevator to make your way up. You're going to have to fight some enemies on your way up, though.

You will have to fight two sets of each Ninjaroid (regular, White, Yellow,Green, and Red), and the second set has a Ninjaroid 2.0 thrown into the mix.When you defeat all of the ninjaroids, the elevator will make its stop. Defeatthe enemies in the hallway and step into the warp portal at the end. Don'tforget to heal!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Rothschild

Rothschild is more of a magic user than a warrior. I'm not sure how it contributes to the difficulty of this battle, but it makes things more fun. Rothschild has a stinky staff in which he uses to summon enemies as well as to attack you.

The moment the battle begins, Rothschild jumps in the middle of the arena and will begin to summon tornadoes. The only real way to avoid this attack is to use Inner Refuge. Dodging the cyclones is pretty tough, as it always seems likeyou get caught in the last one shot (maybe it's just me). Quickly attack him before he can get to the side of the arena.

After a successful attack on him, Rothschild will jump to the edge of the arena and summon a group of Red Ninjaroids to do his bidding. I like to note that as you fight the enemies, Rothschild will just stand there unguarded. Take some time to hit him with Celestial Strike. One hit is all you get as he will flee from the scene.

When the Ninjaroids are dead, Rothschild will return to the arena. Now he will stand on the edge of the arena and charge up his staff. His next attack is where he will shoot a pillar-shaped gust of wind at you which extends to the other side of the arena.

Run from one side to the other and the attack will likely stop. Rothschild will take a breather after the attack, so unleash your strongest moves on him at this time. Honestly, those are his only attacks. I guess he's a weak

Page 41: Musashi Samurai Legend

fighter as he doesn't have any melee attacks. Repeat this strategy to defeat the lieutenant.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Third Time's the Charm----------------------Cross the bridge to Mycella's chamber. Press X next to the symbols on the machine to insert the designated sword. Once all five swords are inserted, Mycella is released. As the two reunite, run to the warp portal to head back to the previous room. Turn around and press X to open the door and walk through. Meanwhile, Rothschile (whom was thought to be dead), hits a switch which causes the fortress to be launched into the sky. Whoo!

Run for Your Life!------------------As the fortress is lifting into space, you will have to guide Mycella and yourself around the outside. As you carry Mycella, jump up the ledges. After a little while, the ledges behind you will fall to the ground, signalling for you to move it! Quickly jump up the ledges as falling machinery plummets to the ground. When the platform ahead falls off, look to the right to find a humongous pipe.

Walk across the pipe and dodge the falling machinery. When the pillar itself falls to the ground in front of you, hop back to the platforms and continue up. When you reach the door, head inside and walk down the hallway. Here is where you'll encounter Gandrake. I don't feel like spoiling the cutscene, so enjoy it. After the scene, the two of you will go head to head.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gandrake

Gandrake uses the same attacks as you, so the battle will be tough. He will start the battle by running across the arena, similar to what Glogg and Riesling did. Avoid him so you don't get knocked down. When Gandrake stops, he will move towards you and use a Chain Attack.

Block the first four hits, and attack before he hits you a fifth attack. Use a Chain Attack of your own to counterattack. Next, he will jump in the middle of the area and use the latent power of the current sword he's using. After the latent power, Gandrake will use another Chain Attack on you. Retaliate by using a Chain Attack of your own, just like the last time.

After that round of attacks, Gandrake will switch to another sword. the same procedure will occur, so keep attacking. Once that round is over, he'll use another sword, and so on. Each of the 5 Swords has its own health bar, and you must deplete all of them. All in all, the latent powers of the swords are pretty easy to dodge.

For Hydro Blast and Pyro Blast, just lock on to Gandrake and sidestep. Tremor Thrust is easy to avoid if you stand on the edge of the arena. Shadow Warrior is simple because you don't need to dodge it; just run up and attack Gandrake and it will go away. Hurlwind is the only hard power to dodge and you'll most likely get sucked into the tornado.

When you deplete a sword's health, it will drop to the ground. Pick it up while Gandrake is stunned. If you don't, Gandrake will grab it and the sword will regain all of its health. You can't attack Gandrake while he is stunned, so don't bother to. Keep attacking until you have all 5 swords, and the battle will end.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The scenes after this fight are SPOILERIFIC. I won't explain what happens in the cutscenes piece by piece, but even the walkthrough will spoil some stuff. You hear that? READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

Final Fight!------------

Page 42: Musashi Samurai Legend

Once you defeat Gandrake, he will turn back into his original self. In blind rage, he'll shoot Mycella with an energy beam and kill her. Musashi is obviously totally pissed and won't let Gandrake get away with this. He uses the Archnebulus to create an Anthedon of his own (it looks like a giant jellyfish, pretty cool). Now as the fortress crumbles, you will fight the sinister Gandrake one final time. Here we go!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gandrake Nebulized

The final battle takes place on a chunk of the fallen base. You will have to fight a superhuman Gandrake who has enfused himself with the Archnebulus. At first, you can't damage Gandrake, so avoid his attacks in order to stay alive. His first attack is where he will swipe at you with his oversized hands. You can't block the attack, so sidestep to avoid getting hit. Gandrake will also do an overhead slam attack with the same results.

Don't try to block, but backflip or sidestep out of the way. After a while, the emblem on Gandrake's chest will start to glow and make a noise. His shield has been deactivated, so now you can attack. Use Celestial Strike followed by a Chain Attack to deal a lot of damage. He will then bring up his shield again, rendering your attacks useless.

Gandrake will start to use his next attack. He will shoot out a small laser beam that follows your every move. You can't block it, and it's extremely hard to dodge. Your best bet is to use Inner Refuge to avoid getting hurt entirely. Afterwards, Gandrake will most likely jump in the air. He will break apart in the air and shower down on you. Watch for the shadows on the ground and avoid getting rained down upon.

Now the parts will come together to form a puddle. Gandrake will chase you around as a giant puddle. Run away, because he will stop for a split second and shoot out from the ground to create a giant stalagmite. He will do this three times, then go back to his original form.

You can finally attack Gandrake now when the red emblem appears on his chest. Attack using the same procedure to deal a lot of damage to him. His last attack isn't used as frequent, but it's dangerous. Gandrake will grab you and try to squeeze the life out of you. Press Square repeatedly while moving the left analog stick back and forth to free yourself.

Gandrake will repeat these attacks over again. Keep up the attack when the emblem on his chest glows, and he will be done in no time. Remember to heal constantly, because it is a tough fight!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Gandrake is defeated and the game is over, right? Right?!

~- Antheum -~==============================================================================

Once Gandrake is beaten, you will return to Antheum with Mycella. With the townsfolk at Antheum saddened by the loss, the Mystics get an idea. They use the Anthedon to revive Mycella, and everything's normal again! Not for long, as Gandrake, still alive, makes his return. He requests that he and Musashi fight to the death, and this time, he means it.

This isn't an actual boss fight, since it only takes one hit to kill him. With that said, you can die in one hit as well. When the battle starts, lock on and charge your focus meter. When Gandrake slashes, counterattack to kill the tyrant once and for all. With Gandrake finally out of the picture, Musashi can finally return home while Antheum is in peace.

Good job on beating the game!

Found: Default

Musashi's favorite blade is sleek, sharp, and swift. He carries this weapon in his right hand and has it drawn and ready to strike whenever he's not in Antheum. Although his talents with the katana are minimal when he begins training under Master Mew, Musashi will come to learn many impressive abilities from those he encounters.

Page 57: Musashi Samurai Legend

+-------+----+----------+-----------------------------------------------+

~- Great Oar -~==============================================================================

Found: Wellspring Woods (Prologue)

Latent Power: MaelstromMP Cost: 50

Master Mew borrowed the Great Oar from Musashi while he slept and imbued it with the Maelstrom Latent Power. The Great Oar was a sturdy secondary weapon prior to Master Mew's tinkering, but now it is the most devastating weapon in all the land. The Maelstrom consumes a lot of MP, but is well worth it. No other attack causes as much damage over a greater area as the Maelstrom. When in doubt, unleash the Maelstrom!

~- Sword of Earth -~==============================================================================

Found: Antheum (Chapter 2)

Latent Power: Tremor ThrustMP Cost: 10

Use the Sword of Earth's Tremor Thrust ability to depress large buttons, shatter boulder, and cause naerby goes to fall to the ground. Of the five sacred swords, it is the most specialized and should only be used when a situation requires its use. Nevertheless, if a situation in tenuous, give the inexpensive Tremor Thrust a try!

~- Sword of Water -~==============================================================================

Found: Roquefort Mine (Chapter 2)

Latent Power: Hydro BlastMP Cost: 15

The Hydro Blast Latent Power is the first ranged attack that Musashi acquires.Although its initial purpose is to extinguish flames, it can also be used to inflict moderate damage to any noumber of enemies from afar. It is the most effective against enemies that are too hot to touch.

~- Sword of Fire -~==============================================================================

Found: Antheum Academy (Chapter 3)

Latent Power: Pyro BlastMP Cost: 15

Use the Sword of Fire to unleash a volley of fireballs at an enemy. Sure, the Sword of Fire is designed to set torches ablaze, but it's also a great weapon. The Pyro Blast's fireballs not only cause a lot of damage to distant enemies, but they can burn right through an emey and continue traveling a short distance. Conside switching to the Sword of Fire when Musashi's HP is low and the availability of the Great Oar's attack is not an option.

~- Sword of Wind -~==============================================================================

Found: Antheum (Chapter 4)

Latent Power: HurlwindMP Consumption: 15

Page 58: Musashi Samurai Legend

Like the Sword of Earth, the Sword of Wind is primarily used in specific situations. It is perfectly designed to aid in defeating Vapor Knights, or moving enemies onto unreachable swithces. The Hurlwind as an attack causes little damage, however, if a situation gets overwhelming, use the Hurlwind to scoop up nearby enemies and cast them aside. Not only will Musashi gain some breathing room, but the enemies will remain dizzy for a short period of time.

~- Sword of Void -~==============================================================================

Found: Mouna Temple (Chapter 5)

Latent Power: Shadow WarriorMP Cost: Gradual once used

Musashi doesn't acquire the Sword of Void until late in the game and, as a result, it is used rather infrequently compared to the others. The Shadow Warrior ability enables Musashi to turn invisible. Use this ability to pass security cameras undetected, or sneak up on enemies. The Sword of Void is a good choise to escape a sticky situation, but it lacks attack capabilities.

[11] BESTIARY [1100]______________________________________________________________________________

============================================================================== ENEMIES [1101]==============================================================================

~- Ninjaroid -~==============================================================================

HP: 200 DEF: 0 EXP: 20

Duplication Ability: Chain Attack

Page 68: Musashi Samurai Legend

This enemy's eyes flash red and it strikes a pose before attacking. It attacks with two quick slashes, first from the left and then from the right. The noise of its blades coming together before it attacks betrays its intentions. Listen for this sound and immediately back away or turn and defend. A quick strike with the katana will break its concentration and delay its attack. This is the most common and lowest level enemy in the game.

~- Galvabot -~==============================================================================

HP: 200 DEF: 0 EXP: 35

Duplication Ability: Three-Sixty

The Galvabot comes to life and rumbles slowly toward its prey with its robotic arms outstretched. It has two basic attacks, both of which can deliver moderate damage. It's most common attackis a spinning attack in which its outstretched arms swing into its prey. This attack is prefaced by a brief "wind up" period that can be interrupted with a single katana slash. The Galvabot's other atack is a bit less predictable and more difficult to avoid. It can extend one of its arms to punch Musashi from afar.

~- Blasterbot -~==============================================================================

HP: 150/400/800 DEF: 0 EXP: 35/50/75

Blasterbots are small, hovering drones that are equipped with a rapid-fire gun. They have good aim but once they start firing they cannot alter their aim until it's time to recharge. A few slashes from the katana will eliminate a Blasterbot. As the game progresses, the Blasterbots get progressively more resistant to damage but they essentially remain the same. Press and hold the L2 button to deflect the incoming firepower until you're close enough to attack.

~- Ninja Rider -~==============================================================================

HP: 40 DEF: 0 EXP: -

Small gangs of Ninja Riders make an appearance on the journey to Nebulium Tower. Ninja Riders are essentially Ninjaroids on motorcycles. All it takes to defeat them is one well-aimed slash from the katana if passing them quickly. Ninja Riders are equipped with a gun similar to the Blasterbot's, so take a defensive position if a Ninja Rider draws its gun.

~- Red Ninja Rider -~==============================================================================

HP: 200 DEF: 10 EXP: -

There is only one leader of the pack and the Red Ninja Rider is it! This foe cruises ahead of Musashi and lobs explosive bombs back at him. Pull alongside the Red Ninja Rider and repeatedly attack it with the katana, but don't forget to block the Red Ninja Rider's sword attack. This enemy has more HP than the basic Ninja Rider.

~- Ripper Bat -~==============================================================================

HP: 250 DEF: 10 EXP: 15

Duplication Ability: Sonic Thrust

The Ripper Bat flies above the ground out of reach from Musashi but it

Page 69: Musashi Samurai Legend

descend when it is ready to strike. When it is ready to attack, the Ripper Bat rapidly increases its speed and flies straight towards its prey. Fortunately, this foe's attack doesn't cover much distance. Simply strafe to the side while backpedaling to avoid its attack.

~- Ninja Driller -~==============================================================================

HP: 250 DEF: 10 EXP: 30

Duplication Ability: Angry Hornet

To defeat a Ninja Driller, sneak up behind one and cut it down before it can react. Note, however, that when a Ninja Driller is aware of it prety, it will put its heavy drill to use as a weapon. To deflect a charging attack, take a defensive stance. Ninja Drillers can also use their drills to interrupt a Chain Attack. This attack almost appears out of nowhere, making it very hard to anticipate.

~- Voltrabot -~==============================================================================

HP: 300 DEF: 10 EXP: 45

Duplication Ability: Paralyzing Palm

Voltrabots resemble Galvabots, but they are far more dangerous. For starters, they are pulsing with electricity and have the ability to strike with lightning attacks from afar. Watch for a circular outline to appear on the ground, then quickly step away. In addition, the Voltrabot can use its lengthy arms to deliver a shocking punch. Dispose of Voltrabots quickly to eliminate their ranged attacks while fighting lesser enemies.

~- Ninja Miner -~==============================================================================

HP: 250 DEF: 10 EXP: 35

Duplication Ability: Twin Turbine

Ninja Miners carry a large pickaxe and use it in three distinct ways. Their primary attack involves swinging the pickaze in a horizontal, albeit slightly overhead, fashion. This attack delivers a small amount of damage, but not as much as the leaping attack. Watch for the Ninja Miner to take a step back and squat down. It will then leap into the air and bring the pickaze down with tremendous force. Strafe to the side to avoid this attack.

Their final attack is a twirling defensive ability that is capable of deflecting most of Musashi's attack. Use the left-handed weapon to force theminto this twirling stance while charging the Focus Gauge-it's the only way toduplicate the ability.

~- Ninja Ace -~==============================================================================

HP: 500 DEF: 0 EXP: -

Ninja Aces are only located in the tunnels and outskirts of Roquefort Mine. They fly through the air after Musashi and attempt to knock him into the tunnel walls. When this method fails, however, they resort to heat-seeking missiles. To counter their attack, perform the Flying Machine's Side Swing atack to knock them into the walls.

~- White Ninjaroid -~==============================================================================

Page 70: Musashi Samurai Legend

HP: 300 DEF: 0 EXP: 40

Duplication Ability: Banishing Blade

This enemy is a stronger and faster version of the lowly Ninjaroid. It possesses a similar attack mode as the Ninjaroid, but its second slash is a devastating overhead attack that can inflict large amounts of damage. It's possible to defend against this attack, but it's best to get the jump on this foe and go on the offensive as soon as possible.

~- Sumoroid -~==============================================================================

HP: 1000 DEF: 0 EXP: 55

Duplication Ability: Infernal Strike

The Sumoroid is a large beast that lives in the pipes below ground. it can squeeze through the pipes and emerge from a vent to cut off Musashi's progress. Although it packs a lot of HP, it isn't very agile and it has limited attacking options. Watch for it to strike with a powerful jab that utilizes cosmic powers. Another attack involves blowing a lengthy gust of wind to keep Musashi from moving forward. Beware of its needle attack, too.

~- Yellow Ninjaroid -~==============================================================================

HP: 600 DEF: 0 EXP: 50

Duplication Ability: Double Cross

Yellow Ninjaroids are a variety of the Ninjaroid clan that is exclusive to the Mount Terroir region. They are easily identifiable by their bright yellow jackets. Yellow Ninjaroids attack with both claws simultaneously. They usually start with a horizontal slash that is usually followed by an overhead blow.

~- Red Galvabot -~==============================================================================

HP: 700 DEF: 0 EXP: 60

Duplication Ability: Whirling Dervish

The Red Galvabot looks very similar to a Galvabot, but it packs far more punch. The Red Galvabot has two main attacks. For starters, it extends its arm and delivers a lengthy punch that can connect from a considerable distance. It's more common attack is a spinning one in which the foe squats down and spins in place while slashing away with its bladed arms.

~- Salamander -~==============================================================================

HP: 400 DEF: 10 EXP: 70

The Salamander is a rare creature that only leaves its fiery home in the lava if its prey ventures too close. It is extraordinarly hot to the touch and has the ability to breathe fire. A coupler of overhead slashes with the Sword of Water will make quick work of a Salamander. The Hydro Blast also works wonders against this foe.

~- Magma Drone -~==============================================================================

HP: 800 DEF: 10 EXP: 45

Page 71: Musashi Samurai Legend

Duplication Ability: Zanshin

The Magma Drone is a crab-like creature that crawls around the upper reaches of Mount Terroir with a durable shell on its back. When frightened, it will hide beneath its shell to ward off most attacks. Although the Tremor Thrust is effectie at bringing the foe to an upright position, it's simpler to use the Counterattack ability. Try to lure the Magma Drone into attacking, then perform a Counterattack before the creature gets under its shell.

~- Oddball -~==============================================================================

HP: 50 DEF: 0 EXP: 30

Oddballs are tiny creatures with spherical bodies and tiny arms and legs. Although they look harmless, don't make the fatal mistake of underestimating them. Oddballs bounce and roll toward Musashi, then leap onto him and preceed to bit him repeatedly. Ahtough they don't inflict significant damage, this attack does limit Musashi's movement. When dealing with one or two isolated Oddballs, simply lockonto them and use the katana. However, when faced with many of them, use the Maelstrom attack to cause big time damage to them all.

~- Green Ninjaroid -~==============================================================================

HP: 650 DEF: 0 EXP: 50

Duplication Ability: Diving Falcon

Green Ninjaroids are very similar to White Ninjaroids when it comes to their basic attacking style, yet they have one key difference. Watch for the Green Ninjaroid to leap into the air and thrust its claws downward. THey can cover several steps in a single leap, so be very cognizant of each foe's location during a fight. Fortunately, these creatures are not incredibly resilient, so use a Counterattack to maximize results.

~- Shadowbean -~==============================================================================

HP: 500 DEF: 0 EXP: 35

Duplication Ability: Shooting Star

Shadowbeans are extremely pesky and quite resilient for their size. These small, black creatures live in the jungle and streak towards their prey in an attempt to impale Musashi with their pointy heads. For best results, use the Whirling Dervish attack for the Maelstrom attack, since Shadowbeans rarely fight alone.

~- Ninja Trooper -~==============================================================================

HP: 700 DEF: 0 EXP: 60

Duplication Ability: Karmic Circle

The Ninja Trooper lies in wait under a leap until Musashi draws near, then it leaps out and attacks. This creature is armed with a double-handed blade that it uses to attack at close range, or from greature distances via a throuwing attack. It's this randed attack that needs to be duplicated. Note that the best way to blowk this foe's throwing attack is to stand still; it's much more difficult to block this attack while on the move.

~- Juggleranium -~==============================================================================

Page 72: Musashi Samurai Legend

HP: 300 DEF: 180 EXP: 80

Duplication Ability: Juggle

The Juggleranium is a very timid creature and will close up and not attack if Musashi gets close to it. Its greatest defense is its tremendous resistance to damage - although it is weak to fire. he Juggleranium opens and performs its signature juggling attack as long as its target is several steps away from it. It's possible to duplicate the attack, but it takes a Focus rating of roughly 150 to pull it off. Its defense goes to zero when the bud is open.

~- Angry Angler -~==============================================================================

HP: 550 DEF: 85 EXP: 55

Angry Anglers come in two colors, both of which are equally nasty. These creatures dwell in the shallow ponds and streams in Picodon Jungle and are exceptionally aggressive. As soon as an Angry Angler spots Musashi, it turns and leaps toward him. There are many methods to use to defeat an Angry Angler, but perhaps the best way is to hit it with the Fish Fillet ability while it's airborne. Its defense goes to zero when it is out of the water.

~- Arachnuke -~==============================================================================

HP: 300/450 DEF: 0 EXP: 30/45

Arachnukes are four-legged spiders that have explosive balloons emerging from their backs. They will slowly crawl toward Musashi after leaving their nest and steadily inflate the balloon on their backs. It's imperative to act quickly so that the balloon doesn't explode.

The Pyro Blast is excellent at exterminating an Arachnuke infestation. Stand back and send fireballs at their nest and watch the little critters crackle and pop. Beware of Arachnukes with spiky balloons, as they can float into theair and lalnd on Musashi from above!

~- Red Ninjaroid -~==============================================================================

HP: 800 DEF: 0 EXP: 70

Duplication Ability: X-Stream

Red Ninjaroids are considerably more dangerous than the other Ninjaroids. Not only are they fast, they can run, flip through the air, and attack with great speel. Most importantly, they have more Hp than the other Ninjaroids. Use the Counterattack ability when squaring off with a lone Red Ninjaroid; otherwise, unleash the Maelstrom or Pyro Blast latent powers.

~- Vault Keeper -~==============================================================================

HP: 600 DEF: 0 EXP: 55

Vault Keepers possess no discernible talents and have no specific attacks that can be duplicated. They are very resilient, though, as they will continue to fight even after being severed in two! To get rid of them entirely, destroy their lower body and upper body separately. Their upper body component will drag itself across the ground in hopes of causing damage. The lower body will simply wander aimlessly around like a zombie without a head. Note that they are weak against Banishing Blade.

~- Blorb -~==============================================================================

Page 73: Musashi Samurai Legend

HP: 600 DEF: 0 EXP: 65

Duplication Ability: Inner Refuge

These gumdrop-shaped creatures fall from the ceiling like large raindrops and quickly pull themselves back to form. The Blorbs possess one very special abbility - perhaps one of the most important abilities to duplicate! These creatures can transform themselves into invincible cubes when they get overly frightened. Perform a duplication while they are in this cube form. This ability will provide a great advantage throughout the rest of the game.

~- Vapor Knight -~==============================================================================

HP: 750 DEF: 0 EXP: 80

Duplication Ability: Leaping Tiger

The Vapor Knight is a peculiar creature. It is essentially the spirit of a former knight that continues to roam Mouna Temple inside a golden shell of armor. It has two amazingly sharp blades that it twirls overhead.

The key to defeating a Vapor Knight is to use the Sword of Wind's Hurlwind attack to cause the Vapor Knight's impenetrable armor to fall. Rush forward and attack the core that floats above the armor to damage it. The Vapor Knightpossesses the single most powerful ability in the game, but it requires a Focus rating of roughly 150.

~- Ninja Digitator -~==============================================================================

HP: 500 DEF: 0 EXP: 85

The Ninja Digitator is the magician of Mouna Temple. It floats above the floor while it casts spells that summon Red Ninjaroids or spawn bombs in Musashi's hands. Ninja Digitators are extrememly simple to destroy - a couple slashes is all it takes - but their willingness to distract Musashi with other foes and bombs makes them a challenge nontheless.

Keep an eye on Musashi's hands when fighting a Ninja Digitator to make sure a bomb doesn't appear there. If this occurs, press the Circle button to toss it into the air and give it a smack with the sword as it falls.

~- Vault Guardian -~==============================================================================

HP: 666 DEF: 100 EXP: 140

Duplication Ability: Celestial Strike

Vault Guardians are among the most difficult enemies to fight due to their impenetrable, expanding shield. They begin a fight with a retractable spiked flail that is large and difficult to dodge. Leap and strike the Vault Guardian's head when its eyes flash to land a hit.

Eventually, the Vault Guardian will replace the weapon with a large, double-bladed axe. The overhead attack from this weapon can be duplicated, so chargethe Focus Gauge while it replaces its broken weapon. Its defense drops to zerofor areas without the shield.

~- Ninjaroid 2.0 -~==============================================================================

HP: 1000 DEF: 0 EXP: 150

Duplication Ability: Kiai

Page 74: Musashi Samurai Legend

This deadly foe only appears on Rampart Isle. The Ninjaroid 2.0 is a vastly improved model of the Ninjaroid. It still wields dual claws, but not it is faster, larger, stronger, and it can hover above the ground. The Ninjaroid 2.0 is occasionally difficult to track, so use the lock-on feature to stay with it.

This foe also has the ability to increase its own strength when it gets angry.It takes a Focus rating of roughly 150 to duplicate its ability, and even thenMusashi has to damage it first. Watch for it to turn red, then perform theduplication.

============================================================================== BOSSES [1102]==============================================================================

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Vaporbot

Keep repeating this process and theVaporbot will be totaled.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gorpus

It will become

Page 75: Musashi Samurai Legend

faster with its attacks and try to strike you since you're up close. Run away from the beasts claws or dodge them and slash at the claws.

Once Gorpus is slain, you recieve the Sword of Earth.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Drill Golem

This guy is insanely hard, and it took me at least 20 tries to take him out. Make sure you have a lot of Rye Break, because his attacks deal over 30 damage. The little moving space doesn't help either. The boss only has two attacks, but they are devastating.

Over the battle, due to mistakes in the beginning and in my timing, I only used 3 Rye Breads.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Page 76: Musashi Samurai Legend

BOSS: Drill Golem

The best time to attack the Drill Golem is when he's firing his cannons,because he won't more for quite a bit of time. It won't be long before theDrill Golem is down for good. Hey, just be grateful that he was way easierthan before!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Scarlet Kraken

The Scarlet Kraken is a very huge boss; occupying a lot of the area. It is cessile, and can only move from side to side.

Youwill receive the Sword of Water once the Scarlet Kraken is killed.

Page 77: Musashi Samurai Legend

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Moltan

The battle will take a while, and make sure to use MP replenishing items throughout the fight or else you'll be in trouble.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Crimson Gorger

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Great Crimson Gorger

The Great Crimson Gorger is a larger version of the Crimson Gorger. It looks like the predator becomes the prey as the Great Crimson Gorger ambushes the

Page 78: Musashi Samurai Legend

Crimson Gorger and eats it. The battle is more or less the same, yet his attacks are bigger and more dangerous. The fireballs that he shoots out are bigger and harder to avoid. He will still use attacks that the Crimson Gorger used, like diving underwater and his tongue attack. You should know how to dodge them by now.

Keep attacking with Pyro Blast and you will take down the big guy as well as escape out of the cave.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Arachnolia

With some patience and plenty of MP, Arachnolia will finally lose.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Ashura

Ashura is the latest creation of Shiraz and his henchmen. As you fight this beast, Clochette is trapped in its torso.

Page 79: Musashi Samurai Legend

Keep it up and Ashura will bite the dust.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Malbec

Once you kill Malbec, you will recive the Lever.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Glogg & Riesling

This is a very interesting fight, especially since you're fighting two dudes here. The fight will take place on a circular platform, and each guy will stand next to each other.

Think of it as if you

Page 80: Musashi Samurai Legend

are the defeated guy.

Once Glogg and Riesling are defeated, you will return to the previous area.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Shiraz

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Rothschild

Rothschild is more of a magic user than a warrior. I'm not sure how it contributes to the difficulty of this battle, but it makes things more fun.

Page 81: Musashi Samurai Legend

Rothschild has a stinky staff in which he uses to summon enemies as well as to attack you. The moment the battle begins, Rothschild jumps in the middle of the arena and will begin to summon tornadoes. The only real way to avoid this attack is to use Inner Refuge. Dodging the cyclones is pretty tough, as it always seems like you get caught in the last one shot (maybe it's just me).

Run from one side to the other and the attack will most likely stop. Rothschild will take a breather after the attack, so unleash your strongest moves on him at this time. Honestly, those are his only attacks. I guess he's a weak fighter as he doesn't have any melee attacks. Repeat this strategy to defeat the lieutenant.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gandrake

Keep attacking until you have all 5 swords, and the battle will end.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BOSS: Gandrake Nebulized

Page 82: Musashi Samurai Legend

Remember to heal constantly, because it is a tough fight!
