1) EMPLOYMENT HISTORY WITH PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT OMAN (PDO). (From September 2011 to date)

I joined PDO in its Central Project Delivery department (CPD), this department deals with Mega, Complex and Integrated Oil & Gas projects. Currently I’m working as Team Lead Cost & Planning/Lead Project Services & Controls.

Last Assignment (From September 2011 to June 2015)

Project: Rabab Harweel Integrated Oil & Gas Project (The RHI Project consists in the development of the oil and gas fields. The RHI Project scope includes gathering systems consisting of wellhead piping, flowlines, remote gathering manifold stations and trunklines to transfer the multiphase flow. It includes facilities to treat sour gas for export. It also includes three injection compression trains for MGI to be injected into the Oil reservoirs and for recycling sour gas in the Gas reservoir. (Overall Project CAPEX at the time of FID:  approximate USD 5 billionMain Shareholders: Ministry of Oil & Gas (Oman) and Shell          Main Contractor: Petrofac (Engineering & Procurement Services), CCC (On plot Construction), Al-Turki (Off-plot Construction Contract), Al-Hassan Engineering (Power Plant)Position: Team Lead Cost & Planning/Lead Project Services & Controls I joined this project at very initial stage during start of Define phase after sanctioned of DG3; during Define phase I involved in FEED, and then involved in FID, and after sanctioned of DG4 involved in Execute Phase (Detail design Engineering and Construction).

Present Assignment (From July 2015 to date) Project: Yibal Khuff Integrated Oil & Gas project (YKP), the project includes development of wellheads, RMSs, flow lines/trunklines, a Central Process Facility (CPF) and a Power Plant. The CPF includes: Inlet facilities, Liquid handling (Oil and Water Processing), Gas Treatment, Sulphur Recovery and Blocking, Utilities Complex. (Overall Project value is approximate 3 billion USD)Project CAPEX at the time of FID: approximate USD 3 billionMain Shareholders: Ministry of Oil & Gas (Oman) and Shell          Main Contractor: Petrofac (Engineering & Procurement Services), Galfar(On plot Construction )Position: I joined this project after completion of FEED and start of Detail design Engineering phase, and currently working as Lead Project Controls & Services and Client Project Controls Focal point.

Job Description/Responsibilities

During this period (from Sep 2011 to date) I have been working on two Mega projects under CPD with same Contracting strategy (EP+C) and being involved and responsible for following activities,

Responsible for the planning and cost control of a project, managing critical Interfaces with various stakeholders: Project manager and discipline leads, Business Directorates and Business Opportunity Manager, PDO Cost & Planning Function department, Finances, PDO business units (FEED Office, Sub-services/Well Engineering team, Power Plant team, etc) and main contractors. 

I’ve been leading the Cost & Planning team and provided the Project Management team with cost and planning analyzed information to allow informed decision making. 

 Steer, coordinated and monitoring of the cost and planning activities and deliverables required for the completion of project.

Provided Cost and planning support to all teams (Facility, OR&A, Construction, Quality, HSSE, C&P) which includes planning, progress reporting, forecasting and independent progress verifications checks of performance of the various project elements as well as capturing projects risks impacts in the project cost & schedule. 

Developed and police the planning and progress monitoring procedures so each element of the project performs the processes consistently. 

Participated in estimate and schedule reviews.  Assisted the Project Services Manager to develop and set up Project Management Key 

Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance of the team.  Managed the reporting process between Contractors and PDO. Produce the Project monthly 

report and input to Business One.  Interacted with the Change Control process, and review scope change requests for the 

impact on schedules and the critical path of the project.  Maintain the Project Controls Plan throughout the execution phase of the project.  Work with Finance to provide consistent Cost information of the project, Value of Workdone 

(VOWD) reporting,  and ensure that SAP reflects the Project budget, commitments and expenditure. 

Provide the project input to the PDO Business Planning cycle like EBPs (Enhance Business proposals) for the Shareholders.

Participated & contributed during DEFINE phase of RHI project before DG4 & FID,  like Business opportunity workshops, Pre-award Audits, IPA benchmarking, ESSAR,VAR, Peer reviews, Lesson Learning Workshops, etc.  

Worked out the Project WBS (Work brake down Structure) for Budget allocation and allocation of CAPEX between Share holders.

Involved and supervise the Cost Estimators to prepare Lv3 Cost Estimate of RHIP project for FID (final investment decision) and Counter Estimates.

Worked as focal point to give Project Controls inputs to Bid documents and then involved in Bids evaluation of RHI project.   

 Provided guidance and coordination to the Contractor Cost & Planning teams in line with standards and guideline. 

Worked with EP contractor to finalize the Lv3 Baseline Schedule/MDDR/PTR and worked with Construction Contractors to finalize Lv4 Baseline Schedule considering Contractual & Schedule Milestones. Recommends and approve Reporting systems as per the Contractual and Management requirements.

With the (EP+C) contracting strategy, working as bridge between EP contractor and Construction Contractors. Worked with Engineering, IMT , Construction, Interface and Delivery

teams to  setup a system to make sure a smooth and on time flow of Engineering deliverables as well as supply of Permanent Material from EP contractor to Construction Contractors.

Involve in Implementing of Workface Planning to have an organized and structured system from Engineering to Procurement to Construction and Commissioning.

Worked with EP contractor to implement EcoSys software and system for Cost management and reporting.

Worked with Construction Contractors to achieve Construction Milestones as per the Contract.

4) EMPLOYMENT HISTORY WITH “DESCON ENGINEERING LTD” (From October 2000 to January 2007)  Joined “Plant Construction & Services” department of DESCON ENGINEERING LTD as Engineer, 

promoted to Senior Engineer and at the time of leaving I was holding the designation of Deputy

Manager. During this period I have participated different Construction & Shutdown projects related 

to Oil & Gas and Energy sector in different positions of Project Management & Controls within 

Pakistan and also outside Pakistan. During stay in Head Office my responsibilities were to evaluate 

& prepare Technical and Commercial bids of Projects. It includes proposal preparation, Estimation 

& Costing, job planning & scheduling, required procedures writing, finalizing the HSE & Quality 

plans, cost estimation of overall job, finalizing resources (manpower, tool, equipment & plant),
